MRD is a charming oasis away from the main road and only a five minute walk along a footpath to the beautiful beach where there is a choice of restaurants and bars. Our room was clean, well fitted out with a great shower and two huge double beds. Outside was a seating area overlooking the large swimming pool which had a separate shallow children’s area. The staff were all polite and helpful and the Sri Lankan breakfast was plentiful and delicious. You may even have to explain why you couldn’t eat it all! We had a great stay and would come here again. Just one small tip, the hotel only accepts cash and likes to be paid on arrival.

The Hotel did not look like the pictures which was a bit disconcerting just on arrival. We are so glad we stayed! We had really good sleeps, the place was incredibly clean, and the staff with a friendliest we had on our whole trip. They always went out of their way to say hello and to ask if we needed help with anything. And then there were a breakfast, lots of food, plenty of extra helpings and a really nice room to enjoy it in.

The only thing I didn’t like is it didn’t really look like the pictures

The property was clean and comfortable. We all loved the pool which was directly outside our room which was very convenient. But more than anything, the staff there were exceptionally friendly. We had breakfast there and we felt like it was a family treating us for a meal. They went out of their way to give us whatever we asked for. We were hoping to come back and stay at the same place but our trip got cut short. I will definitely come back to this same place anytime we visit Trinco.

Nothing at all!

Great location in Uppuvelli, a couple mins walk to the beach, many restaurants and also to the shops on the main road. The room was comfortable and very clean. We stayed 4 nights and it was cleaned during our stay, which was great to get rid of sand! The pool was fantastic, really big and clean and the pool towels provided were lovely and soft. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was large and well cooked

Breakfast- more variety would have been nice, so a bit different each day. It was the most expensive stay in SL of our 21 day trip; however the pool was so great that we would stay again.

This is one of several small hotels along a track leading to the beach - however this would always be my choice due to the staff, the pool and the breakfast. The staff work so hard - long days but are always freindly - big shout out to Diso who was at the pool by 7am cleaning diligently and thanks to the manager who always showed our kids kindness at breakfast.

Payment in cash on arrival so please come prepared otherwise it will be a trio to the ATM.

Room was nice and clean, comfortable beds, fan and airconditioning, service and hospitality is good. They helped with arrangements to go to the Girihandu Seya temple and they know good drivers to bring you to your next location. If you ask for a vault/ safe, they bring you one. Pool was clean, the water of the pool was hot in the afternoon because of the heating sun but it is nice to cool off at the beach nearby.

Beautiful property, two minutes from beach with a terrific and attentive staff. Very clean and management immediately response to any concerns. Very good restaurant on site with outside alternatives close by but all have very similar menu so really no need to go. Breakfasts were a great value and very tasty. Grocery store tor snacks and toiletries nearby on main road. Lovely clean beach just steps away, plus a very clean pool onsite. You can use loungers belonging to restaurant on beach for the price of a drink. Very swimmable.

Everything! The staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough for you and so friendly too. The location was perfect, very close to the beach. The pool was lovely, clean and well maintained. Our rooms were great. The A/C kept them cool. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was great, lots of fruit, pancakes, hoppers etc. This hotel is a little oasis near a beautiful beach! Wish we were staying longer. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Trincomalee.

Clean room, daily housekeeping, very good traditional breakfast, nice swimming pool. There is a separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom. An inroom safe is available. Staff was very friendly. Overall a good experience.

The room was a little dark and the smell of the room was a little unfresh. The jaccuzzi was not clean, the price was quite expensive compared to other similar hotels in Sri Lanka. They only accept cash. The Wifi was very slow most times of the day. It would be nice to have a table and a chair in the room and not only outside. The closet for the clothes was very small.

The staff are amazing and go the extra mile. The very relaxed atmosphere and the super swimming pool. The bed was very comfortable for my back. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Only a 2-minute walk to a wonderful beach with full use of beach chairs, umbrellas, and restaurants. Great value for a beach holiday.
