The breakfast was perfect. Fresh pastry and juice tea yogurt and fruit and cheese. This is a lovely place to stay to soak up local ambience. Margaret is very knowledgeable about the area and friendly. There is a wonderful rooftop terrace with a beautiful view of scenic southern of France. At night the stars are beautiful. The Ginestas area is walkable and beautiful we visited the local Catholic Church that offers Mass on Sunday and was built in the 1600’s amazing. There is a local bakery close by and the restaurant LaTable Casino offers drinks vines and great food. Just lovely.

The property is a lovely place to stay in the village of Ginestas. We were there to attend a wedding at the local chateau and it was ideal. As well as that, it was a really good location for venturing into Narbonne and Carcassonne. Margaret was the ideal host and she was extremely welcoming each morning while we had breakfast. The drinks available in the roof terrace were very fairly priced and the sun terrace is an ideal place to sit peacefully under the French sun. We would highly recommend L’Orchidée.

The roof terrace and lounge room were a bonus, and the supply of drinks in the fridge was a nice touch. Our room was comfortable and it felt like you were staying with friends, the host was so accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was traditional French and plentiful.

The lock in our room door didn’t work but we were the only ones staying there so it didn’t matter. The en-suite bathroom could do with updating.

Our stay at l'Orchidée has been fabulous. My husband, my daughter and I have come from Barcelona to spend a week to visit the area and staying at l'Orchidée we have been able to visit all the tourist and interesting places without losing the tranquility that this magnificent place provides. The accommodation is beautiful, very clean and with all the comforts. Margaret is a lovely and endearing person. She has been watching us at all times, advising us what to visit and where to have dinner. Always willing to help and offer us a wonderful stay. Every morning we had an abundant and rich breakfast prepared with great delicacy and taking care of every detail. We have felt like at home. I definitely recommend this place 200%. Victorian-style bed and breakfast, great ambiance, and excellent location. Proprietor was fluent in English and helpful with French translations. She knew the area well, and was a great resource for the local customs and culture.

Margaret couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. I really appreciated her assistance trying to sort out the difficulties with Booking.com for an onward booking.

Very friendly host in a wonderful house full of charm. Spacious rooms and common roof terrace and winter garden filled with nice art evocation. Our host accommodated our bicycles and was extremely welcoming.

The property was delightful, quaintly decorated, so nice to not have generic furniture. I had the use a modern shared bathroom which was no bother at all. The location is excellent. Quiet for sleeping at night. Margaret is an absolute gem of a host, so lovely to speak to and she has a wealth of information about the town and the area and not to forget Ian, a gem of a different sort! Felt very welcomed and at home. An absolute pleasure to stay there. If I were to return I would look forward to booking again.

Because it is a historic house, there isn’t air conditioning but the windows have screens so that was fine.
