Room was great, we had a small terrace to with great outdoor views and sounds. Exactly what we weere looking for. Pool is a great addition and superb in case you are lazy zo go to the park or the lake. YOu have some games which are great for the kids (and adults) such as the corn hole; and you have great space to play cards or read. We used the breakfast space at nght to play cards. Location is great. 15 minutes from the lake; and 30/40 mins from the Yosemite Park entrance by car. 10mins from Oakhurst in case you need some supplies or restaurants at nice. Front desk staff are out of this planet. Super nice and helpful; with a smile and willingness to assist and help and that you have a good time.

Breakfast was ok, could have definitely been better (did not have any scrambled eggs or bacon); but defintely good enough for where you actually are in the middle of nature.

Choosing to stay at Sierra Sky Ranch was truly the best decision I could have made. Having visited many new and improved hotels, none can match the genuine warmth and hospitality that The Seirra Sky Ranch offers. The serene location, no matter the season, provides a peaceful retreat. The staff at this establishment are exceptionally welcoming, creating an inviting atmosphere that sets it apart from other places. Throughout the hotel, you feel at ease and comfortable, unlike any other place I've visited. I found myself so relaxed that I fell asleep soundly, a rare occurrence for me in unfamiliar environments. The Sierra sky Ranch made me feel at home and at ease, a feeling I seldom experience in my travels. If you're seeking a welcoming and tranquil retreat, I highly recommend The Sierra Sky Ranch. This place truly stands out for its genuine hospitality and comfort. I look forward to returning to this hidden gem.

There was nothing i didnt like!

We absolutely adored our stay at this ranch! It was such a cozy and atmospheric place with real soul and charm. Stepping onto the property felt like walking right into one of the Nancy Drew games – it had that perfect blend of mystery and inviting comfort. The staff truly made the experience exceptional; they were incredibly caring and attentive. Every morning, I looked forward to breakfast, which was wonderfully diverse, and the food was absolutely delicious. A lovely touch was the availability of complimentary drinks in the lobby – you could always grab some coffee, tea, or even tea with honey. While the rooms were a bit on the smaller side, each one had its own terrace, which was a fantastic bonus. Plus, the ranch offered an abundance of cozy spots to sit and relax or play board games with your friends all around the property.

This is a very cute ranch, well decorated and within a beautiful site. The staff lights up the fire pit in the evening so guests can sit around it and chat, drink, make smores, etc. It is great opportunity to meet other guests and change hiking/trip tips. Gwen, one of the receptionists, was very friendly and gave us great restaurant recommendations. The breakfast had many options, including a delicious sausage and egg sandwich.

The rooms are not soundproof and at one point we could hear the entire conversation on one of the room next to ours and the tv show on another room. The site is beautiful but quite remote, so you are quite reliant on your car for everything. It is about 15min to Oakhurst and 30min to Yosemite’s south entrance (or 1h30min to Yosemite’s valley).

Beautiful location and surroundings near the mountains surrounded by beautiful trees and birds, the room had a back door leading on to the veranda. Derek greeted us warmly at check in and showed us around. Lovely cosy communal areas with games and a piano. Good breakfast. Nice pool though sadly we couldn't use it as it was too early in the season. Comfy bed, quiet room and the fan helped cool. A really lovely place to stay.

It was generally clean but the bathroom was a little dirty with hair and limescale, the shower wouldn't stay up of its own accord which made showering tricky. The back door blind was dirty. No proper hanging space.

The location was pretty and quiet. A short drive to the park or into town. I loved the "charm " décor. Nice amenities - pool, veranda lawn games, firepit. Refreshments available to purchase on site along with coffee/tea/drinks for free in common area.

The room was on the lower "bunkhouse" floor, ( steps involved- no mobility options) and we could hear the guests above us at times. You could also hear guests in the hall coming and going but considering the age of the building it is understandable just something to know, Also, ...this time of year, young mosquitos in the evening!

We loved our stay at the Sierra Sky Ranch and I don't know where to even start! The vibe of the accommodation is just fantastic. As a European it feels very 'american'. The style has such a nice attention to detail: from the history to the nice details such as the woodsy lamps, pictures and fireplace. The breakfast was the best we had so far after 3 weeks of travelling across the country. The staff was incredibly friendly and an absolute delight. Yes, you have to drive to Oakhurst for lunch/dinner but the peace, quiet, and atmosphere is so so worth it. 10/10 would come again

The Ranch had alot of it's past still visible in the common rooms, the old west w touches of cattle barron thrown in. My stay was just like being one of the many cattle hands just with a bathroom:) They leave out tea & lemonade & coffee for u to take back to your room. Breakfast was totally thought about, in all detals. Very charmin caring people. (I didn't realize until my last day that there was a large grounds for walking. High security w passcard locks. Nice chairs outside.

You have to keep your curtains closed. All of the french doors open to a shared veranda. So no views outside unless ur ok if smeone walks by. Can be noisy w doors slamming, people wakin veranda halls. Luckily most of the time it got deathly quiet aftr 10ish.

Wow, this was a terrific find. We made a last-minute decision to stay longer in the Yosemite area and when we saw that this historic ranch has free rooms we jumped at the opportunity. It was a very, very cold night when we arrived (4-5 Degrees Celsius) and it was amazing to find a fireplace by the reception, a selection of warm drinks and certainly a very warm personal welcome. The host kindly showed us around and explained the history of the property. The decorations are very authentic and the ranch is equipped with everything you need. Rooms are spacious, clean, cosy, and with access to the porch. Common areas have games, books, TVs... You can definitely enjoy quiet, romantic evenings there. I would go back any time.

The heating system is not well designed. The warm air blows just above the bed, while the bathroom is not heated at all. This is not ideal, but certainly not a huge deal either. I also think the breakfast could be improved. For example, by providing a little ham, cheese and butter.

Sierra Sky Ranch has a lot of charm — the rustic ambience, tasteful interior design, and peaceful surroundings create a truly relaxing atmosphere. The room was spacious with a very comfortable large bed, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the anti-insect screens on the windows — perfect for enjoying the fresh air.

However, the breakfast was a big letdown. There was no warm food at all, which felt out of place for such a cozy lodge-style hotel. A small hot option would have made a big difference.
