The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the best part was that the room was spacious. The jacuzzi was the perfect stress buster after long days at Yosemite! I would highly recommend this hotel if you plan to stay outside the park. Its a 24 minute drive to the south entrance to the park and another hour to the welcome center. We enjoyed the early morning breakfast service as well! Also, tons of great food places in Oakhurst!

Long drive to the park was the only negative, but we knew that before booking so not really a negative for the hotel.

The hotel was within walking distance to restaurants and shops; a Denny’s is in the parking lot. It’s quaint and offers a gift shop. We needed to wash clothes. Luckily, the laundry room was right beside our room. That has never happened before.🙌🏼 Southgate offers complimentary breakfast. We didn’t eat anything, but we did enjoy juice. If you’re a skincare snob, they offer Beekman 1802 lotion, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. I loved the makeup area with mirror and stool!

The pillows were not my favorite at all. The a/c wasn’t the best. I guess I’m just used to a more high-powered a/c since I’m from south Mississippi. It was cooler outside than in our room.

Breakfast was barely passable, with instant oatmeal, no water for me to take my pills, high calorie store-bought muffins, yogurt with artificial sweeteners, only black tea, (no honey), and limited other foods. I need to eat healthy due to having cancer, and apples were my only option. The room was very nice, though.

The bedsheets--they were heavy, coarse, and felt somewhat rubbery--poor quality. Pillows were so thick that they hurt my neck, so I had to use a folded towel for a pillow. How about some melons at breakfast? Multi-grain bread?

The hotel was clean. The front desk people was very friendly. The breakfast was very basic but good.

I received an email before my arrival saying that if the hotel didn’t have an updated credit card then they would give my rooms away without a refund. When I called to clarify. It took three phone calls to actually talk with them. Cliff was very confused even asked if I was sure the email was from them. (I called the number in the email and he answered!) Then when I arrived they still was unsure about the email. I showed the email and they still didn’t acknowledge it came from them…. Very weird. Also I requested adjoining rooms and there was no notes on my reservation. So the woman at the desk said our rooms were very close. They were both on the first floor but on opposite ends of the hotel. 🫤

Really enjoyed our stay, lovely big room, very clean. no noise. great location. great view. Breakfast was good, small choice but all you would need (eggs, sausage, cereals, toast, yogurt, muffins, fruit). Denny's literally next to the hotel which was great. Chinese, mexican, American food, Pizza within few mins walk, including supermarket further down the road and a small grocery/liquor store very near to hotel. About 25 mins in car to Mariposa Grove (Yosemite south entrance), a further hour after that to Yosemite Village. Would definitely stay here again. Yosemite is stunning!!!!

It was good to have everything I needed. The employees were as kind as friends. It was a great help to digest the schedule because I could have a hearty breakfast. I couldn't use the sauna and swimming pool because it was winter, but if I go to Yosemite again next time, I really want to try it. It's a quiet and really clean inn, so I'll visit again.

One lamp on the head of the bed didn't turn on. There was a creaking sound of the faucet.

The rooms were very spacious for 2 persons. It is a short 30min drive to the southgate entrance of yosemite national park. Morning breakfast was basic but a great service provided for those who want to fill up before heading out. Staff were very friendly and the wifi worked well. Parking out in front of the hotel was well lit and we didn't have any issues finding a lot. Laundry facilities were available for $3/wash load - would be great if it could be 24h access though.

Not sure if we missed it, but a water filling station would've been a great addition!

The room was a double queen facing the quiet parking lot, The design has a modern look with a small refrigerator with a sperate freezer, a small microwave and a sink outside the bathroom

Being on the 3rd floor of a 4 floor hotel, we had guests directly upstairs that were heavy walker or may have been kids running back a fourth. It lasted a couple hours till about 9pm, but was tired and fell asleep. The morning breakfast was very basic, the just scrambled egg and sausages, muffin, yogurt, cereal, coffee and juices

We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing — exactly what we were looking for. The room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable, with high-quality bath cosmetics that were a pleasant surprise. We also want to highlight the friendly and attentive staff — we felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived.

The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast. It would be great to add a cheese platter or something similar to offer a bit more variety.

Very nice, cozy hotel, that is close to Yosemite and nearby restaurants. The building in itself is very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful (lots of good advice on what to see at Yosemite and goos restaurant recommandations). Our room was large and really confortable. The parking lot is quite spacious. And we really appreciated breakfast being available starting at 6am so perfect for an early start of the day. Definitely recommend staying there!
