I selected this hotel based on the breakfast reviews, despite the room appearance not being impressive. I visited the restaurant of the hotel, the food was exceptional, so I assume the same staff prepares breakfast, resulting in good taste, although the variety could be improved. While the room feels dated, it is still kept clean.

There was no water bottle in the room. It's 1.5 hour far from the main Yosemite places.

Location of hotel in the mountains was good. The surrounding area was nice with the water fountain. Convenient parking next to the rooms. The reception area looked nice.

The playground was not very well kept where some family members had their children play. The rooms seemed very dark. Better lighting and perhaps lighter sheets and rug. Toilet was low for a 6 footer man and smaller than standard. Family was separated in two buildings. Reception personnel could do better - SMILE and be friendly. Perhaps add comments like “I hope you enjoy your stay and let us know if we can do anything for you”. Point out amenities in the area, etc. Charge per room was too expensive for room presentation, sq footage, and style. Ambiance in the room was below average.

This hotel is fabulous. The room (2 kings) was specious and had everything needed including Keurig coffee, microwave and mini fridge. We love the proximity to Bass Lake and Yosemite Park entrance and the convenience of regular shops. The staff was very nice and approachable and knowledgeable. The facility has 2 pools and 2 jacuzzies. The free breakfast is phenomenal. We would definitely return.

The indoor pool is said to be heated but is colder than the outside pool so that was disappointing. Then, the mattress and pillows are not as comfortable as I am used too for Best Westerns.

Clean and really spacious room with a small kitchen, daily cleaning and towels changing, great rich breakfast - the best we had in US :) Nice and well maintained large garden area outdoor pool and jacuzi was perfect, pool towels and sunbeds always available In overall we liked the stay here.

We were not lucky with the room location as our family room was in the basement at the end of the resort, far from the restaurant. Patio was behind the bars like in the jail, without any view and the room was very dark we had to use lights all the time. I recommend to ask for the room in the 1st floors or closer to the main building/restaurant. There is a kitchen with coffee maker, microwave, fridge and sink but there are no equipment. At least knife and fork and two basic plates would be very useful.

Beautiful resort full of character. The suite we had for a family of 5 was huge with 4 double beds across 2 rooms. Really comfortable sleep. We used the outdoor pool and the Spa and found them to be clean..good fun. The spa was great after a busy day! The breakfast had plenty of options. The Oakhurst Grill Food was great, we ate in there in the evening. Lovely food with an amazing view. The staff in reception were very friendly. Honestly couldn't fault the place. There were a few other hotels along the same road that looked like the usual chain style hotels, but we prefered the quirky Gateway Inn and would definately pick here again.

Location is perfect, staff is friendly. We had a nice balcony with chairs. Coffee was good. A great place to sleep before visiting Yosemite. I will definitely choose the same hotel if I ever get the change to visit Oakhurst. The hot tub outside was awesome. The water was so hot and we had a nice relaxing night each day we stayed there. Don't hesitate and book the hotel. Food was okay, nice touch was ready to take chocolate soya milk and paper cups for takeaway coffee and tea.

Please add some fresh, unprocessed vegetables for breakfast (like tomatoes, cucumber, pepper, etc). Just buy vegetables, wash them and cut, I believe people would love that. We got tired of eating high-calorie, fatty and sweet food each day. The food provided was tasty but we really missed vegetables.

The location is excellent, and the hotel is beautifully decorated throughout. The grounds are lush and impeccably maintained, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. The lobby is especially elegant, spacious, thoughtfully designed, and a pleasure to walk into. Nice pool.

While the property’s location and public areas are truly beautiful, the guest rooms feel quite outdated and could benefit from a refresh. The breakfast area also outdated and lacks charm and variety, offering a very limited selection that doesn’t change day to day, which can be disappointing for longer stays.

Room size, decor and very clean. Front desk was polite professional, friendly and provided suggestions for stay., in terms of dining and things to do locally. Ate dinner in restaurant- steaks and salmon dishes, with Creme Brulee for dessert-all delicious. Bar drinks good too!

Restaurant could use some refurbishing on the inside. Ate in bar area which did not match pictures online. Chair cushions cracked. (Food /desert/drinks were delicious. ) Service was 7out of 10. Requested waters in addition to bar drinks ordered and they were forgotten about and not brought until much later in the meal.

The breakfast was terrific with a generous amount of options. The staff were all exceptionally courteous. The rooms were clean and had good amount of tech for the modern traveler (casting to the large Samsung TVs, plenty of USB-A/C chargers and outlets. The indoor pool was a hit with the kids. Oh, and the rooms are grouped into these mini-clusters of male 10 rooms max in buildings spread throughout the property, so it's more cozy than staying in one giant building. Quieter too. Great stay, highly recommended!

The menu selection at the restaurant was somewhat limited. Mostly Italian fare. Would be nice to have more "casual American diner" choices. But the food they did have was tasty and the servers were excellent!

I loved this location! The grounds are beautiful, the staff was amazing, our room was clean and comfortable. It was great to have a playground right next to our room, the back porch was perfect, and the morning breakfast was so delicious, it was the cherry on top! The restaurant staff was so attentive and the food reflected their personality and care. Couldn't be happier with our stay.

IF I had to be picky I would say the rooms are a little dated BUT that literally had no effect on our stay, our experience, and I 100% will be coming back with or without an update of the rooms.
