Usual standard of Toyoko Inn with a parking staff who was so sweet and friendly, he tried his best to converse although he knew almost no English and made me feel very welcomed.

A couple of breakfast items were not very good like the salmon was all dried up and didn't taste freshly prepared.

Location was good. An easy to walk to the railway station. Good towels and other accessories. Breakfast was included in the price and varied over the four days we stayed.

Breakfast eating area was cramped and very busy. Staff didn’t speak English and couldn’t help us with travel arrangements. No information in English about local sites or what was available in the area.

The location was good and the price was reasonable.

While some most staff members were friendly, one or two were not. The guy who checked me out refused to smile and seemed very reluctant to store my bags until I planned to leave for the airport later in the day. My room was not very clean with dust gathered in corners - especially in the bathroom. Also, despite their advertisements for an eco-friendly approach to room cleaning, a new toothbrush was left every day even though it was clear that I had not used the toothbrush from the day before. Breakfast felt like a school dining hall - you had to pick up a tray, move along the line, fill up your tray and then take a seat at the long line of tables in reception often with strangers and with the feeling that you needed to eat as quickly as possible to make space for the next person. It was not a pleasant atmosphere and, after the first couple of days, I decided it wasn't the way I wanted to start the day on my vacation. Also, there were zero vegan options and very few vegetarian options. While pleasant on the exterior, below the surface this hotel seemed quite far below the standard that is normal in Japan.
