Hotel stay was excellent, but restaurant service was a bit spotty this time. After our cocktails, the salad arrived promptly, but we had barely taken a few bites and our meal showed up. We asked it to be sent back so we could enjoy the salad, but when we were ready for its return, the beef was no longer medium rare. It was still a good meal, but watching the progress of our eating at the table would have helped the servers to deliver food at a more leisurely pace. They also did not notice that our two glasses of wine had come, so two more glasses of wine showed up, which we had not ordered and did not want. It went back, too. We had pointed out when we arrived that we’d been driving all day and wanted to have a leisurely dinner, so this was less relaxing than our previous meals with you. We will be back, but we will not order our full meal right away in order to avoid the unwelcome speedy service.

I loved the charm of this place, which offers a surprisingly peaceful courtyard and mission revival vibe right off I-5. Dinner was tasty and the wine museum, which you can visit at any time, was interesting. I was just stopping on my way through, but could imagine this as a good base for a romantic weekend.

If you're just looking for a place off the highway to sleep, you can no doubt find something more affordable, but it felt worth a little extra for the unique history (not an actual mission, but the spirit it was built in felt similarly ambitious) and non-chain atmosphere of this place.

Everything about this property is amazing. They treat dog owners like real people and made us all feel welcome. The hospitality was wonderful and the property has a cool story. I can’t say enough good about this place.

The only downside was there is no late checkout which I feel isn’t the best when you are a roadside stop and travel plans get delayed for various reasons. We ended up getting in way later than planned and needed a bit more sleep.

The beauty of the property, surrounding greenery, fountains, Koirala ponds and the many things to do ie. Horse shoes, pool, sauna, fitness center, many outdoor family games, tennis courts, basketball, Fire pits with smore kits at the market store, small museums for learning about historic winery operations etc. Great place for dogs with a sign in sheet for dogs at the entrance and complimentary biscuits. Areas for dogs to walk and go potty. They can sit outside at the restaurant when you eat.

Breakfast ended at 9am, but no one told me this so I was bummed when we got there at 0910am and they said breakfast was over because they were getting ready for 11am brunch set up. I wish someone would have told me when we checked in about these hours so I could have gotten there before breakfast hours ended.

Nice clean rooms, very pretty exterior to the hotel. Tip - the best Mexican food truck opposite - La Jalisciense - worth the trip just for that place. We only did an overnight but think with a warmer pool it would be a lovely weekend break. Also Pea Soup Andersons for breakfast nearby is amazing as a tourist site in itself (pretty unique decor and really lovely staff)

Freezing pool, which was a shame as the kids couldn't use it - in August. Would have been much better value to include breakfast.

Upon check in we received warm cookies. The property was relaxing and so pretty. Maybe different places to relax... next to a fire pit or in a gazebo. The restaurant's food was so good. The lounge had a shuffleboard table. The crew coffee in the lobby was very good and nice to have on a copy evening. We loved waking around the property and looking through the windows of the huge greenhouse which sources the restaurant.

I’ve always admired Hotel Mission De Oro while passing by, and finally had the chance to stay. The hotel is beautiful, full of history, with lovely grounds including ponds, fish, and even a dog park. They’re true dog lovers - our pup even had her own breakfast! We stayed with our toddler and had plenty of space for him to run around. A wonderful stay, and I’d love to come back.

Hotel Mission de Oro is our regular stop on our drive from Oregon to Southern CA. It is conviently located right off of I5 and there is parking right in front of the units. We also travel with our dog and we can take him with us to dine at the onsite restaurant as long as we sit outside. There are interestings things to see and do but we usually just spend the night and head out early the next morning. Highly recommend.

The Hotel Mission De Oro is an oasis in the middle of nowhere. We happened upon the hotel on our way to San Diego and loved it so much we stayed on our way back too. It's a wonderful hotel, great pool, lovely atmosphere, great food and very comfortable a clean rooms. We would definitely recommend for anyone traveling along I-5 - or for anyone looking for a great little getaway.

We requested and paid for a room with a balcony, which was great for my husband, who likes to sit outside and chill. The room was right next to an entrance, which made us think it would be noisy, but actually we were quite undisturbed. The room was clean, pleasant and was easy to access from the parking lot. The staff were kind and accommodating. We also ate at the restaurant on-site with our three-year-old and they were conscientious to seat us away from people who were having more romantic meals. Also, the food was pretty delicious and reasonably priced.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like about this stay.
