Almost 30 years visiting the Philippines from New York, I’ve stayed at every type hotel/resort. A Villas is not a cookie cutter western style commercial hotel. It’s a small local hotel with a beautiful pool overlooking the Sea. At waterfront on both sides is a fishing village with wonderful families who I interacted with everyday, was invited to their parties, and invited to go fishing with them. All of this is the flavor of the Philippines. I don’t fly 9,000 miles to stay in a western type resort. 22 days at A Villas is a treat, understanding the culture. Many poor people, but I’ve never met more humble or happier people anywhere in the world. I stayed in the cottage (only 1) at waters edge, a/c, modern, clean, and I open my door and interacted with the fishing village folks everyday, who treated me like one of their own. It’s not a 3,4,5 Star Hilton, but it’s a wonderful experience. I actually became self appointed pool skimmer/cleaner everyday. Staff set the skimmer out for me daily. Staff got me a new scooter that I rented for $10.- day, and will be continuing this reveal for another week. I married my wife in the Philippines 29 years ago, she had to return to USA earlier than me. I’m very familiar with the Philippines. This offers the flavor of a local Philippine resort. I’ll be back. There will be a little culture shock for some, for sure, but there’s so much to be gained from this local hotel. Vincent/New York

Day 1,2,3 there are surprises, but they slip away as the staff helps you become comfortable. Except for cottage and the family type room, rooms are small, but very clean. No protection from sun in the beautiful pool, so one learns what hours to not be sitting in the pool. These things all the local folks already know.

Rooms 2, 3, 4, & 5 - very clean, very organised, impressive interior design, well-equipped with essentials, very comfortable beds, and we felt secure inside these rooms and the property in general Swimming pool - clean and well-maintained, adequate size, comfortable water temperature, considerate depth level for all heights of the guests, convenient location from the rooms Location of the resort - very easily accessible because it’s along the national highway and near local shops Staff - very friendly and professional staff who are accommodating of our requests Food - free breakfast is delicious and nutrionally balanced, dinner food was also good

Beach in front of the resort was dirty along the shore and not conducive for swimming Korean fried chicken was a bit off due to the very sticky texture of the sauce that made eating quite inconvenient The shower water pressure was not powerful and the drain in the shower area of room 5 is very slow; the floor is flooded with water up to 1-2 inches after each shower.

I like that the resort is minimalist. Simple but elegant. The scenery is so good even the view from my room is beautiful. I like also that there are a lot of options for the food. Also, the staff is accommodating and friendly. The location is also good since it's quiet. The food is also good, quantity is already okay for groups of people- worth its price. They gave us complimentary snacks when we are waiting for our van going back to the airport.

The beach. They said there's a sanctuary on the beach in front of the resort. Yes, there is. But the water is murky, with lots of leaves and rocks. Also, the beachfront is not clean. Lots of leaves and some plastics. I think if they will be able to beautify the beachfront, it would also be more attractive. Nonetheless, the resort and pool are great!

Everything is just right at this place: The view, the pool, the room, the beach, the whole resort and including the price, all just right. An "especially" goes to the food, everything we ordered was delicious! Most of all: the staff, very friendly and super accommodating! Our kids loved the place. We all had a great time!

Quiet. Guard up able to let me in through the gate late at night. The terrace room is right next to the ocean to hear the waves. Be prepared for quite a bit of mosquitoes though, the ones here are fairly slow and easier to catch.

I love the ambiance of the resort, it’s very intimate. Great for couples. The pool is very accessible and the beach is near too. I also love that their TV have access to Netflix and YouTube. You would also love their employees, very accommodating. These are the reason we stayed at the resort for 4 times now.

Their food is not bad but availability could improve. And more option for snacks.

The room with a terrace is located in front of the beach. Nice sunrise. Very quiet place. The food was good. The staff was nice. Even if we arrive early (11pm) our room was ready.

More shade around the pool would be nice.

Our stay in the villa is amazing. The staffs are very friendly and approachable. The whole resort is very clean. They even have a little surprise for my daughter celebrating her birthday. The villa itself is spacious and very comfortable with all the amenities we need for our vacation at home. The view from the balcony is breathtaking and makes you feel like you're in paradise! I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!
