We - family of 4 (parents and kids 11 & 13) - stayed at Aivy Maes for almost 2 weeks and enjoyed it to the last minute! We stayed in the 2 aircon units with private bathroom, which were quite basic, but very clean and more than enough for really only spending the nights in there. The whole setting of the resort with its nice huts and garden, the direct access to the beach equipped with shaded sun chairs, hammocks in front of the rooms, open kitchen with coffee, tea and biscuits all day long, made it such a comfortable and family friendly experience! But the best of the vacation was definitely the diving! Josh organized everything at the dive shop perfectly! He was also the ideal teacher for our kids to learn underwater magic tricks and how to make bubbles & rings in so many different ways! They had the best entertainment ever and felt very comfortable under water. Their ease and fun was also supported by the great care and attention of the 2 dive masters in training, who accompanied the kids during most of their dives. Can a parent ask for more? Divemaster Nhoe was THE hero during each of our dives spotting the tiniest rare critters! Being muck diving lovers, we really had a blast and can’t think of a better guide than him. If you’re concerned about the food situation, there’s no need at all! You can either prepare your own meals in the common kitchen or go to any restaurant in the neighborhood. There are so many choices and they’re all in walking distance! And there’s really plenty of yummy options! In brief, we had a great time and were very sad to leave this little gem!

We booked first 4 nights but ended up to stay 2 weeks at aivymaes. We loved the calmness of the place and amazing staff. Deluxe room had good bed, ac and small fridge. Own bathroom was ok. Staff was amazing and always near if you need some help. There is no restaurant in the resort, but you can use shared kitchen. There are also several restaurants nearby where you can even order with delivery. Dive center is professional and dives that we made was excellent. We two did together 36 dives in 2 weeks. We can honestly recommend!

It’s my first time to go on a solo travel and AivyMae’s did not disappoint. It’s a decent place to stay when you wanted to go on a beach just near Dumaguete. I did not expect to go on diving because I thought i signed up for snorkeling 😅. It was a fun and memorable experience for me. Thank you so much for the dive masters/instructors for being patient in teaching me the basics especially when we are already in the water. The staff were very accommodating too and friendly. Funny thing was, one guest, who cooked dinner, thought that I was one with the crew because I was invited to eat with them. Haha! It was a fun night hanging out with them and do the karaoke. ☺️ Hope to stay longer in the future.

If you want a nice sandy beach with a safe place to swim and snorkel THIS IS THE SPOT! Right in front of the marine sanctuary. Simple, peaceful, relaxing especially at night. Love the shared kitchen and can cook your own meal option. Internet is amazing if you want to Netflix or live stream your experience. The owners, management and staff (Marmi, Kim, Anna Mae and Rose and Kuya Guard) are amazing, informative and helpful. They have an amazing dive shop too with dive courses available (shout-out to Josh and Daniella) Will definitely come back and recommend!

Located right on the beach by a beautiful snorkeling/diving reef and near Apo Island. Newly- finished dive shop with showers, wash tanks etc. We stayed in a deluxe bungalow, with full bathroom (plenty of hot water), small fridge, large comfortable bed plus twin bed, large closet, coffee making supplies, A/C. Fresh water always available from the kitchen. Large deck with table and seating. Easy walking distance to restaurants, markets, massage. Lounge chairs and shaded seating area by the beach.

We were able to upgrade from the shared dormitory to a private room with private lockable entrance. Property is gorgeous, right on the beachfront with the Dauin Marine Sanctuary with magical snorkeling RIGHT THERE!!! Ask the staff where to snorkel. Beach is well used by locals, but it was easy to find space, and everyone was very friendly. Beach was comfortable and clean. Several restaurants were within easy walking distance (2-5min). Bungalows and property were cute and picturesque. Bed was covered with mosquito net, and room had a lockable cabinet for valuables. Each bungalow had 2 hammocks on the porch and clothes drying lines. Shared bathrooms were clean.

The fan was mounted high and hard to adjust (e.g. to make it swing/rotate).

AivyMaes and s a family operated dive resort. The bed in the queen room with a bathroom was very comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water and the diving was excellent. I was here during my birthday as a solo traveler. The owners went above and beyond to make sure I had an excellent time and the whole team took great care of me. I would highly recommend for diving and accommodation.

The snorkel spot next to the resort is a true gem, so beautiful and full of life! The amenities where super clean and we are so thankful they provide drinking water and bread in the morning, also coffee The location is close to many restaurants and a fresh fruit and veg market The bungalow have hammocks and a line to put your wet clothes

The bungalow can be a bit tiny but there’s plenty to do so you will not want to spend much time there anyways

Loved the bungalow vibes and the fact that it was right on the beach. You get that beachy bohemic vibe. Nice that they provided a kitchen but we never used it. So much potential here in terms of location - a lil upgrade of the facilities would go far. We did 5 dives with their shop. The instructors were super cool and friendly. Also, the sanctuary is just one step out of the beach where you can do diving and snorkeling. Highly recommend!

The facilities were so-so. The showers and wc could need an upgrade since not all of the showered worked properly. We figured out after the two first night that it was wise to go to bed early because the neighbors and roosters will wake you up at 5-6 am. It gets noisy in the morning and depending on the party vibe nearby it might be a chill day in the hammocks or not so chill due to the music/karaoke etc.

This is a great place to go if you want to dive. I got a bit on the beach with ac and was diving within an hour of being there. Regular trips to Apo island. Great staff and a brilliant house reef you can also snorkel on with turtles and coral. Best Christmas ever! And free nice coffee. The owner was there and treated us like family, organised the dives and gave helpful local advice.
