I'm giving this location 10 stars because I feel like Europeans would find it so - it's a cultural thing as an American to expect different levels of comfort. However, I found our room to be rather cramped and the last room on the top floor, the furthest away from the lobby in what might have originally been the attic - the windows were dormered. The beds were spartan in that sleeping on them was like sleeping on stone. My hips began aching by the third day. The pillows were meager, half size. I had to ask twice before they brought us some extras but in the hotel's defense, my German is deplorable, so it's quite possible I couldn't make myself understood. The bathroom was pretty much the same as any hotel in the US, very small - the bathtub and shower felt like bathing in a coffin. I feel like many of these complaints wouldn't bother most Europeans: they're tougher than Americans are at this point. So I didn't really dock the hotel any points on my ratings for the uncomfortable aspects of the rooms. The breakfast was amazing, and my son and I really enjoyed it every morning. The hotel was perfectly located. We're not Christmas people, so when we booked we had thought the location would be rather empty but to our surprise it was Christmas Market and teeming with people. The parking situation was overly complicated and rather expensive in my mind (16 euros per day) but once again, American coming into a situation with expectations that are probably culturally inappropriate. The bar was nice and relatively affordable and Andreas the bartender was a highlight.

The beds are harder than boards.

It is seriously one of the best hotels I have been to. The location is excellent and it is an ideal base for sightseeing. The breakfast was excellent with plenty to choose from. The personnel were also very helpful and we had no problems communicating in English.

The mattresses on the beds were a bit too hard for my liking and like most hotels their hard boiled eggs made for breakfast were too hard.

Great hotel and spa. Fantastic central location. Great food.

Most of the staff are awsome however we encountered 2 of the rudest staff members we have ever come across on our travels. 1 female in the spa who virtually man handled me in the sauna because I went in with shorts on. The 2nd the dark haired girl working breakfast. Remove crockery from under my wife's nose whilst she was still eating. Totally spoiled our stay!

The breakfast was delicious, the staff was super friendly and the location could not have been better. The staff all spoke English and German, so they were able to always communicate with you no matter what language you spoke. Loved the bartender Andy, he was super fun and made the trip even better!

There really wasn't any downsides to staying here. The location was amazing. The hotel radiators seemed to not do A/C so the room was often hot or you had to have the window open in order to regulate temperature.

A very pleasant hotel with a lovely historical façade and neo-Gothic windows in the dining room area with a view of the delightfully eccentric town hall right next door. My room faced a quiet street with a nice view of the church and was perfectly comfortable. The breakfasts and the evening meals in the restaurant were all good. The service was overall extremely helpful, enthusiastic and efficient.

The service in the first couple of days was a little variable – well intentioned but rather vague (a 4* hotel without any shampoo?).

Beautiful hotel in the centre of town. Very good breakfast. Runny eggs, perfectly crispy bacon. The beds were nice, not too soft. Everything was cozy and clean. Only the view from the room was less. Looking out on another roof.

The view from the room, and no elevator to our floor. With a one night stay, and with only a carry-on, this was no problem for us, but if you're staying longer I wouldn't like to haul a big suitcase up the stairs.

Central location of middle of the city. Easy to walk around and find good cafe shops. Hotel was good, breakfast was ok and bar really gave feeling of nice Hotel

Getting in with car is hassle, check parking house address from navigator, not the hotel address

Location is excellent The staff are all highly motivated and very pleasant.

The rooms and decor are a little dated, but functional. The communication was poor ahead of my trip, seeing as I booked 5 months in advance. No one contacted me to ask if I might want dinner in the hotel, so it was all booked up on my arrival.

The location is top, the overall decor is dated but really nice and well kept. The breakfast was fantastic. We were very happy that the hotel parking offers electric charging station.

The toilet needed a bit more cleaning due to hard water, but nothing major.

It is attractive inside and out, perfectly positioned on the lovely main square, comfortable and spacious room and bed, tasteful and quiet (no piped music) reasonably priced, excellent breakfast, friendly and efficient staff. Everything that one hopes for.
