The staff are excellent.Henry, Angel and those that I can not remember and house keeping are all five stars worth their weight in gold to the establishment Spacious room well appointed Enjoyed the stay despite my observations I expect that management or owners will eventually go for a remodel after 20 years a fine spot !

Hotel needs a remodel carpets on sixth floor passageway threadbare. The rooms look like they have not had a make over in a few years. Decorating good in public areas, back wall at front desk bad ! That is a quick fix ! Protect the image now! Open food and beverage all day please, poor for such a location and room charges Clean windows if you can ?

You can’t beat the location near Central Park and Times Square. The staff are friendly.

I’ve stayed here over the years and the hotel is starting to show its age. When we arrived the room was slightly dirty including the bathroom floor and living area.

The location of this hotel is fantastic and very close and convenient to Times Square, the theater district, Central Park, Bryant Park and the NY Public Library, 5th Ave shopping, and Grand Central Terminal, which are all within walking distance. A short walk to several nearby subway stations get you to any other areas of Manhattan that are too far to walk with a short subway ride. The hotel is beautiful, is kept very clean, smells wonderful upon entering, and the staff is super helpful and SO friendly. This was my 3rd stay at this hotel, which is becoming my go-to hotel whenever I go to NYC. The rooms are very large in comparison to most NYC hotel rooms. We were in a one-bedroom suite, which was likely larger than most Manhattan apartments, with a separate living area, large entry, and large bathroom. The beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of pillows provided. The staff is exceptional and very attentive, particularly Angel at the registration desk, and doormen, Henry and Theodoro. They are one of the reasons I keep returning to this hotel. Always stepping up to help in any way they can. They are also very quick to respond to requests.

As I mentioned above, the staff is exceptional, though I found there was a bit of a difference in the daytime staff versus the nighttime staff. The daytime staff was super friendly, warm, and helpful. The nighttime staff was much colder, aloof, and I almost felt as though we were annoying them with some of our requests. There was also a bit of an issue with the fact that my husband and I don't have the same last name, legally. We are married, but have different last names, and the hotel seemed to have a bit of an issue understanding this and keeping this information straight, though it really wasn't a problem....just a little odd.

The key selling point of this hotel in my view is the atmosphere of relaxation you feel once in your room, which, after a long day sightseeing in the caos of New York is very important. The rooms are very big, the decor is a bit old fashioned but cosy and in good state, bed very big and comfortable, same goes for the bathroom. There are no real views, at least our bedrooms didn't have one. The carpet in the room is very thick and soft. The staff is all very friendly, I had a very nice chat with the door man, which is soooo NYC

my only suggestion would be (for being an half Italian hotel) to improve the price of the coffees served in the lounge bar, an espresso macchiato cannot cost 8usd like a latte macchiato where you have 20 times as much milk 😊

The Michelangelo hotel is well located close to Times Square and a quick walk to a lot of theaters. Our room was quiet in spite of overlooking 7th avenue. We had a Junior King Suite and it was very spacious and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed. Since this is an older building, the windows are small and there’s basically no views (our room had heavy curtains that also obstructed what view there was). It’s also lacking strategically placed outlets for our modern lives but we managed! The hotel is beautifully furnished and we appreciated the classical look. It is however a little tired looking in some places but overall well maintained. Housekeeping always kept our room impeccably clean. The gym was relatively big with all the equipment needed and lots of mirrors. I only missed a soft mat for the floor for yoga. The staff we interacted with were always nice and helpful and polite. Thanks to Teodoro, Juan, Jimmy, Edwin, Kendrick for excellent service. We had room service a few times and the delivery was fast and the food reasonably good. The menu was a little limited. We appreciated the luggage storage when we arrived early and the help in getting a taxi when we left.

The location! The elegant & stylish decoration of the lobby, corridors & room. Lots of space, comfortable suite. Then the people: the extremely kind front desk gentlemen/lady & manager! Very nice & efficient cleaning ladies & housekeeping. The doormen. Thank you for the nice hospitality.

Parts of the room a bit worn out. Windows not cleaned from outside. Lack of view (no high floors, max. 7th floor, with view to office building)

The staff was great, wish the bar would open up sooner.

The room window faced a wall. Only the queen beds faced an outer window.

Even though it was central, the hotel was quiet which is paramount. The hotel was relaxed, very clean with helpful staff. If I requested anything it was brought to my room within 5 minutes. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, however when I asked if there was a coffee machine I could have, one was sent to my room within 10 minutes at no extra cost. I must mention Kendrick on reception, super friendly/helpful and what a smile! Also our doorman Teodoro, he was the first person we encountered on arrival, so friendly/helpful, they are a real credit to the Michelangelo!

There is nothing not to like!

This was my 6th time to Manhattan and my 4th stay at The Michelangelo. This has become my go to hotel and my home away from home when I'm in NYC. Everything about this hotel is wonderful. The location, in midtown, is convenient and walking distance to so many places, Broadway, Times Square, Central Park, museums, 5th Ave shopping, and it's an easy and pretty quick subway ride, with subway stations just a block or so from the hotel, to lower Manhattan. The staff are all so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, always greeting you with a smile and willing to help you find the best route to your destination. I would like to single out Henry, one of the bellmen, and Angel and Walter at the front desk. Henry is always so happy and always there to help with whatever you need. He goes above and beyond. Angel and Walter were always friendly and helpful with our needs at the front desk. And I didn't get their names, but the guys working the bar/restaurant are great, too! Every morning when I'd go down to get my morning coffee, they greeted me warmly while they got my coffee to go back up to my room, as well as in the evening when I'd stop and get an espresso martini to take up to my room. The rooms are very spacious for NYC hotel rooms, and the beds are very comfortable. I don't know if the hotel was full when we stayed this time or not, but if it was, I had no idea. I hardly ever saw anyone else and never heard any noise in the hallways or neighboring rooms. I'm already planning my next trip to NYC and of course I'll be staying at The Michelangelo. I highly recommend this hotel!

I really have no complaints, but if I had to criticize one thing, it would be that they need to update all of the rooms to have enough outlets and add USB ports. Today with us using so many devices that charge/run on USB cords it's nice when the hotel has plenty of USB ports built in in case you forget to bring chargers. Additionally, some of the decor and carpeting looks a little worn/dated, but that's not nearly enough of a reason for me to not book here. The location, friendly staff, and large comfortable rooms more than make up for any minor flaws.
