The pool, specifically the outdoor one (which links up to the indoor one) was excellent. It stays open till late at night, which meant we were able to take wonderful swims and enjoy the live outdoor bands performing on the adjacent stage, whilst in the pool, even after a long big day out. Then you could order great poolside food till 10 or 11pm to enjoy accordingly - great formular (please dont change this!) and much enjoyed by us and the kids. The clientele are all so respectable too there was never any abuse of this system.

The food & drink within the hotel is very expensive. The breakfasts although really good were too expensive to justify doing every day as these are all extra. The hotel room in itself though was very reasonable. There are many excellent restaurants near by outside of the hotel.

Has amazing facilities for families: The kids club has varieties of toys, there are also kids activities on certain hours, heated pools and spa indoor and outdoor, also have shallow kids pool. Love the evening live music entertainment by the pool which makes the vibe very lively at night. There's an animal feeding slot every morning too (birds & bunnies). You can also do glamping in this hotel. The resort is big enough for you to enjoy a long walk or jog in the morning and has direct access to the beach although you have to go down the stairs as the hotel is on a cliff. View is beautiful on a nice sunny day. Room is so spacious. Housekeeping service is top notch, they clean our room at least 2x a day. Convenience store is 3 mins walk. Perfect for families.

Room is pretty tired and a change of new carpet and wallpapers could do so much to this beautiful hotel. We also found a little spider and the web on the reading light on the table in our room. The resort is located in a quiet area in Jongno. Good to enjoy time in the resort and the local area only, a bit far from everywhere else except for Hello Kitty Island and Teddy Bear Museum for kids.

The Shilla staff is world-class. Observant, kind, friendly, and always helpful. Everyone from the valets, Front Desk, Concierge, restaurants, room service & housekeeping were wonderful. The hotel feels over-staffed, and that is a true luxury these days.

The facilities are a bit worn down and tired. The carpets especially just past the elevators look dirty, although I know housekeeping was constantly cleaning. Our room faced the big lawn and the back of the building needs stucco work and painting, badly. The lamps in the rooms look old and worn, and the bathrooms really need an update. Even the suitcase rack looked like the original from 1990, when my family first stayed. However, everything was very clean and orderly, which is a miracle considering this is a family-oriented activity resort. Bed linens were excellent and very comfortable.

The resort was amazing and staff so great! Pool area is very small for such a big resort.

Pool access and system was not properly explained upon check-in. Also small kids who could swim could not enter the pool without a life jacket due their height, which inhibited in the fun to be had.

Room was very spacious and elegant, lovely balcony with view on ocean and pool. Location is convenient to visit the south part of the island.

Too much of a resort vibe. Restaurant buffet applies different prices for lunch and dinner, yet it remains buffet with not so dissimilar offer.

Love the big and comfortable room with the traditional style. It's really suitable for families with rabbits and bird feeding in the morning at the compound. The view at the park overlooking the sea was surreal. We booked the glamping dinner for four to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was memorable and the food was awesome and the service from the hotel staffs were impeccable. It's worth the indulgence!

No complimentary slice of cake for birthday celebration. However, We happily bought it from the lobby cafe and the staff arranged for the cake to be sent during dinner which I'm very pleased with their service.

The service was excellent from start to end. The housekeeper even greeted us and asked if we needed anything twice during our two-night stay. Very clean, spacious and well-designed room. It was also refreshing to hear bird sounds every morning at the balcony. The hotel has a plenty of facilities and activities that could keep you busy. The weather wasn't nice on our second day of visit, so we spent most of our time at the hotel visiting a mini animal farm and the gallery exhibition as well as enjoying the brunch buffet. After that we went on for the yacht trip (one of the hotel activities ). The swimming pool was also great, not to mention there was live band performance by the pool at night. Overall, expensive but 110% satisfied.

Great location, huge property. Good facilities. Breakfast was excellent. Nice relaxing vibe. Clean though old-fashioned design.

20,000 won for sauna is slightly inappropriate given the already high cost paid for the room. I think the guests should be entitled to one free visit per stay. Hotel is also slightly dated in design although very clean and well furnished — my friend mentioned it feels like it is out of the 1980s…

I loved the seaview from my room. Swimming in the heated pool was a special treat. Staff were helpful and friendly. My friends and I had a delicious meal at Hinode Restaurant. We also enjoyed listening to the live music at the lobby area. Our favourite was the cellist.

Jacuzzi was extremely hot at 44 deg C. I had to ask staff to turn down the temperature.

The water bottles tasted funny, not high quality as the hotel requires.
