The staff were very welcoming, and my daughter and I were advised upon arrival that we had been upgraded to a deluxe suite, which was a nice surprise. The hotel is beautiful inside, and the restaurant, albeit on the pricier side, had a lovely ambience and great food. Our server was extremely helpful and friendly. Tip: If you are travelling on a budget, they do have a Happy Hour Menu between 4pm & 6pm. Also, worth noting that they don't do an early breakfast if you have to leave early, like us, unfortunately, but they do have a nice Brunch Menu, which starts at 9am. Our room had a lovely fireplace and a jacuzzi jetted bath tub, although we didn't have a chance to try out the jacuzzi. Lovely spacious room, and the beds were very comfortable. Easy free parking outside the hotel and they also have underground parking. Really convenient location for the sports competition that my daughter was attending.

Pillows were rather lumpy and either too thin or too thick. One of the beds had a couple of good ones, but the rest could do with being replaced. Rooms could be a little better soundproofed as I was woken up by some noisy inconsiderate guests, sometime around midnight. I could hear them outside of the hotel and then in the corridor by my room, where they talked loudly for quite a while.

This is a gorgeous well established hotel located in a central area of Nanaimo. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom were generous in size. We were pleasantly surprised to find a small balcony off our suite and a fireplace in the sitting area of the living space. The bathrobes provided by the hotel were absolutely luxurious. The staff that we met had a wealth of experience in the industry, cordial and helpful.

The on-site pool seemed to be closed for renovations, had it been open, it would have enhanced the experience. The whiskey bar in the hotel is charming and very well stocked but was unfortunately closed as we were wrapping up our evening (10pm) it would have been nice had it remained open slightly later. But, we also did not ask about the hours before we went into town, had we asked we would have planned accordingly.

Location for us was great. We had stayed there before.

Cleanliness was our major concern with us. You could see circular imprints of glasses on the tables indicating that they had not been wiped at all. We were supposed to get a room with two queen beds but was assigned a single queen bed. On checkout reception said we should have advised them and they would have changed our room. Having toted baggage up to the room I didn't think it was my responsibility to address this issue. I felt it was their responsibility to confirm our booking.

The lobby is beautiful and the location is convenient. Comfortable and quiet room. Very nice to have a fridge and microwave, even though I did not need them on this visit.

The room had that faint smell of air freshener used to cover up smoke, even though it is a non-smoking hotel. Don't know what can be done about that. Otherwise, a spacious and well appointed room. It would be nice if breakfast was available in the restaurant.

I left something behind that was important and I got a phone call in a several hours telling me I left it behind and that they would hold it for me and I could pick it up. I picked it up two days later and everything was there. Was very grateful

Staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Very elegant would stay again.

The receptionist was extremely helpful, she gave us some good ideas of things to do in and around Nanaimo. She went to the trouble of finding ferry times to Newcastle island, kayaking possibilities etc. We had a great day thanks to her!

Breakfast was not available on the days we were staying there. This would have been nice. Dinner is only available at weekends and the bar too.

Hotel stay was very pleasant. Definitely recommend , staff was very pleasant and accommodating.

This place is amazing. A gem in the middle of the city. When you step into the lobby iit’s like stepping into a grand hotel of the past. It is elegant. Very friendly staff. Wonderful restaurant with lixurious ambience . There is also a bar at the facility, which is well known as the whiskey bar in in the area. The rooms are big and comfortable and extremely clean and the price was very reasonable.

There was no breakfast available in the restaurant as it doesn’t open till later in the day.

The price we paid was only slightly more than our cheap motels but was waaayy better. The cleaning staff was so happy and welcoming. There was a mistake with the online booking. They solved this by upgrading us fexpectations. Concierge was so nice and helpful.

They upgraded us to a room with a jacuzzi and other nice things free of charge so it is hard to complain about us not being able to get the jacuzzi to work.

the Staff are very friendly specially francine. it’s close to all the amenities and hway. The area is very quiet.

they have no breakfast. And the fridge is making a lot of noises that i have to get up 2x just to open it up and close again. And the food is kinda more expensive in that restaurant.
