It had everything I needed even a little fridge and freezer for my ice cream. Microwave, dishes etc The staff was awesome at the reception and very kind when I ask him to help me with the tv chanel not working. The cable was disconnected probably by accident😉 For an older building, it was super clean and the bed comfortable!
It was small for a room, and even with the fan on the ceiling which was great, and the window fully open, there was no air circulation which made the small room a bit stuffy inside. But that is just me who likes to sleep in the fresh air...

Ben and the night manager (sorry forgot to get your name sir), were super helpful. Night manager found me a power cube so I could charge my phone as I forgot mine at home. The suite was very clean, like very very clean, better than a lot of more expensive places I have stayed. While the motel is older, it is kept immaculately. The bed was very comfy (Serta) and the linens were luxurious. Towel and bathroom were spotless and had all the little extras. There was a living room area with a comfy couch, dining table and a work station as well as a kitchenette. Location is across the road from the ocean and very close to Departure Bay ferry terminal.
Bit difficult to turn into the motel from Stewart Avenue going north, but that's not the motels fault.

The room was exceptionally clean and must have been renovated in the last while because the decor and room amenities were fresh and up-to-date. The room was quiet, desspite the motel being on a main road. We were catching the ferry to Horseshoe Bay the next morning, and the location was perfect - only a couple of minutes drive to the ferry terminal.
The room was quite small, which was fine for our 1 night stay, but I wouldn't want to be in that tiny a space for more than a night or 2.

They gave me a complimentary upgrade it was amazing the guy at night was so polite. And the place is so well care. I will stay again there. Even from the inconvenient.
I asked for a late check out, and in the morning they called me that there was no notes for a late check out. And that I need it to leave, this guy was rude, saying that I need it to leave now Beacuse no one approved. But I had it on my messages on booking that was approved.

I have stayed at the Buccaneer Inn a number of times over the years. I like it because I like the rooms (large, full kitchens) and I like the human scale of the property - it is not a large impersonal operation. It is not for everyone - eg you might have to climb a few stairs - but it certainly works for me. Also the customer service is excellent.
It could have been cooler in British Columbia!

It was cheap and cheerful for a quick overnight place to stay. It had enough space to accommodate 3 of us. Front desk was helpful when I asked for air freshener to mask the subtle cigarette smell. He offered his own cologne!
It was a basic motel so had no expectations in this context. Nothing to note other than a subtle smell of cigarette smoke though it was a non smoking room.

The king bed was amazing! Also the toiletries, shower and size of suite. The Brazilian receptionist who checked us in was also very helpful with recommendations.
The staff were hard to find the morning after we checked in because we wanted to inquire about a late check out. In the end we just checked out late anyway and it wasn’t an issue but we didn’t see a soul apart from the cleaning staff.

WE got an upgrade to the cottage which was just wonderful. Wish we could have stayed for longer. The cottage was 3 bedroom with full kitchen & laundry. Very nicely renovated. We didn't hear any traffic in our bedrooms. From what we saw of the other rooms, they were spacious & very nicely done.
Unfortunately it is located on a tight corner so exiting the driveway doesn't have good vision.

Liked size of the rooms which included a bedroom with king size bed and a single bed, which we didn’t use. the Sitting room / TV room / kitchen was a good size. Liked the lighting for reading. The coffee maker was basic and easy to use. The bath with shower had a grab-bar which is a very good idea as it makes it safer to get in and out.
It didn’t affect me this time but it isn’t handicap accessible. My sister was a quadriplegic after a car accident.

The property was a great value, with a separate bedroom from the living room / (stocked) kitchenette. Room / suite was quite comfortable. Helpful staff - found an extension cord so that people in both beds had access to electrical plug.
I didn't mind the lack of elevator - except at the beginning and end of trip when i had to haul suitcases Combination of being on hill plus shrubbery near road interfered with sight lines and made exiting the parking lot a risky proposition at tines
