We had such a good stay at Mahendra Prakash. The property (including the rooms) looks amazing and is super clean throughout. The pool and garden area is pristine and is such a peaceful place to relax. The breakfast was great with good options and some live music which really brought a nice ambience - we stayed for a couple of dinners too which were really good. All the staff members are so friendly and really make you feel at home. The manager and his family are very approachable and we had some lovely chats. Everyone remembers you and nothing feels too much of an ask; they’re willing to go out of their way to help you.

Honestly there is nothing I would change - we will remember our stay very fondly and will 100% stay here again if we are fortunate enough to revisit Udaipur!

I booked the property because of the good reviews but it still exceeded my expectations - it's a gem of a place, away from the crowds yet close enough to the main attractions, with excellent service. Staff were always helpful. Special shoutout to the management for the surprise birthday cake left in our room. The gentle notes of the (live) santoor performance in the morning as we had breakfast on the lawns was the icing on the metaphorical cake :) We wish we could have stayed for longer.

Wonderful genuine haveli just round the corner from City Palace. The hotel is being constantly maintained in top conditions. Top modern facilities, the staff is awsome, so very kind and smiling. At the restaurant Pabuh was top! A real maître d"hotel. He advised us on food and translated indian dishes for us so patiently! He speaks very good english. I must add that all staff is absolutely dedicated and ready to help at maximum. And, whats so important to me, with a big smile! The garden and swimming pool after a day in the city a real treat! Good breakfast and very tasty and varied food at the restaurant. We have always dined here. The atmosphere in the night at candlelight absolutely romantic. Would absolutely love to come back!

This is one of the best properties we have stayed in. The facilities were excellent. It is a mix of traditional haveli style architecture with modern facilities. The location of the hotel is extremely good, as it's very close to Lake Pichola and the city palace. All of the staff were very polite and courteous and most importantly, extremely helpful. They helped us book cabs to railway stations and for outstation trips. They even offered to pack a breakfast for our outstation trip, which is something I was not expecting to experience at all! The facilities are kept very clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Best hotel I've experienced in India and possibly anywhere! Everything was perfect Beautifully restored haveli and fantastic customer service. The food and service in the restaurant was amazing . Also you find out how good a place is when faced with problems. I tripped and hurt my knee when out . (Beware of dodgy pavements !) The owner of the hotel was responsive , immediately found me an ice pack and offered to change my room to a downstairs one . Excellent care and I felt like being in family . Highly recommended

Nothing They've thought of everything

Every thing was great, very nice hotel, comfortable, clean, quiet. Great staff. Good food. Even had dinner one night at the hotel and enjoyed the food. Surprisingly good variety for breakfast.

Only one thing, the location is just terrible. It’s right off a very busy street, next to a big bus stop. Very difficult to get a taxi: they either just cancel in advance because they didn’t wanna cross the busy road, cancel when they didn’t manage to turn from the busy road or just don’t come at all. Sometimes they force you also to walk to the busy road and then cancel on you.

Hotel's garden and pool area offer a haven of calm is an otherwise busy area just outside the core. Room and bathroom were reasonably spacious. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Staff were attentive and cordial. Pool is nice, though in December it was frigid...

We had a ground floor room in the hallway near reception, while ok, we didn't benefit from any real view onto the garden nor pleasant outdoor sitting area that other rooms had ( the hotel was not at full occupancy, so allocation of another room would have been possible).

Large comfortable bed, good size bathroom and shower, clean throughout and calming courtyard. We loved our own private veranda overlooking the pool. Staff service always with a smile which is really nice. Thanks in particular to Mili and Hukum who were at reception during our stay. Breakfast was limited in choices , but still good. We were on the second floor in room 25 and there are no lifts, but was not an issue for us. Location is close to attractions in particular city palace.

Such a friendly welcome from all the staff and the owners of this smaller, family run hotel. Super clean, gorgeous furnishings, great shower and comfortable beds. The garden is lovely to relax as well as a pool to cool off after sightseeing. It's just 5 minutes walk to the palace gates, and 10 minutes to the main temple so in an excellent location. Our room was on the top floor so we could see the palace, which was lovely at night. The restaurant delivered good food and cold drinks at reasonable prices. We loved it and hope to come back again in the future.

We stayed at Mahendra Prakash for a night of luxury with a pool to escape the Udaipur heat. This was easily the most expensive place we stayed in India but was also by far the nicest. The room was fab (loved the painted ceiling), the shower was hot and powerful and most importantly the pool was excellent. The pool is a good size for swimming which was exactly what we were after. The courtyard and pool area feels like a slice of paradise. Breakfast was extensive and tasty and staff were very helpful. Some hotels can feel quite formal but this really had a welcoming atmosphere.

Pricy but honestly worth it
