But it’s a real castle, with very high ceilings in the rooms — just don’t expect modern comfort, because everything really is just like in a castle :)

We were traveling with a child. The booking conditions stated that the child could stay in our room, which we were totally fine with. But of course, we expected at least a separate pillow and blanket for the child — and there was nothing. The reception was already closed for the night, so that was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, everything was great.

The hotel's location is excellent for those seeking tranquility. In the morning, you can take a peaceful walk in a truly stunning environment. There are some beautiful stables nearby, which add to the charm of the area. The breakfast is outstanding, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend this hotel, particularly in the autumn, as the colors surrounding it are magnificent.

Location was great, visually spectacular, rooms and breakfast all good. Would love to visit in the summer with more guests and a stronger vibe.

Nothing bad, but we visited at a very quiet time and in such a big place felt like we ratted around. Staff very helpful, but few in number.

Location and lake secenery is spectacular. When arriving to hotel is very clear that castle is real and not one of those artificial places that looks only good in photos. Hotel staff is very friendly. Great place to do hiking around the area. When driving to hotel, I recommend to take longer route that arrives to hotel from the top of the hill.

Entrance and parking was not clear. Better signs that there is drop of place for luggages next to the gate and then clear signs that parking area is for the hote. Dinner is costly.

Very very nice historical place , modern renovated , amazing 180 view to the lake . Nice garden an area . Rooms are stylish . Really recommend .

Please do not go for diner and breakfast . Food and was really bad . To have a drink in a garden with a lake view is must :)

The setting was magical: lake view, large grounds with a pond, a small trail, a place to sit or paint quietly while the sun sets or rises. The breakfast was very good.

The restaurant dinner offerings were highly priced, took a long time coming, and was not particularly great.

Location

Catherine was very good ,but reluctant to give is a room with balcony. Dinner was a disaster with the pasta and chicken cooked by the italian chef were not palatable. Again Catherine was a big help. Breakfast was poor,staff untrained as they could not keep the buffet properly loaded.

Lovely hotel with good access to St Gallen with train stopping on the hill. Late evening taxi ride though was expensive as no trains. Views from room are lovey across the lake.

Staying for a night in a castle with a great view on lake Bodensee, that was really nice. We enjoyed the dinner and the sunset on the outside courtyard. The castle is situated in a quiet surrounding, no cars or other noises can be heard.

Breakfast selection was a little limited and the scrambled eggs were burned. No one staffs the hotel from 10pm until the early morning, so we got woken up at 3am by late arriving guests that were trying to find a way into their room, smoking and speaking loudly at the entrance (our room was right above the entrance).

The hotel is well maintained, the staff is always welcoming and smiley! The breakfast is very good!

The bathroom requires a renovation but it is functional!
