Nice house with many rooms. Mostly clean and neat. The neighborhood is safe and mostly living area of middle class, so we could walk around, however it is far from the city center. The owners are very frienldy!

- bed was too hard for our taste - shower was not strong and not very hot, also the shower cabine needed some more clean - laundry service eventually was not satisfying. We needed to leave to airport immediatly after getting laundry, so we could check our clothes only in other location. Unfortunatly we missed 1 sock and also our laundry bag.

From the communication with the property to our stay there, it was all very easy and comfortable. My friends family picked us up at the airport and brought us to the hotel. A little difficult to find but as long as you say CK market, sector 5, Salt Lake then you should make it most of the way. We booked the Deluxe Studio. At least, for Canadians, this would actually be called a one bedroom as the bedroom is separate from the kitchen/living area. Loved the bathroom as it had the shower area separated by a partition from the toilet. There was also soap and shampoo. The TV had netflix that could be viewed without a password and the wifi worked well. We had dinner one night and one breakfast and the food was good. We were there for a wedding so we ate out most other days. There is also a wonderful cafe, called the cafe 82 (which also has a salon attached) and it is only about a 10 minute walk from the property. I cannot eat any spicy food at all and they prepared continental western meals beautifully. J's nest also had a washing machine on the top floor that we used. Any questions we had were always answered promptly by the host. I found the area to be very safe and it is also walking distance to the metro from where you can get to the city center shopping mall. It is important to note that all the metro stations are not up and running with many lines yet to be completed. A rickshaw from CK market to the city centre mall should not be more that 50 INR and the metro is from 10 to 20 INR per person. The area itself is what I thought to be a very quiet part of Calcutta. I missed the fine print that they accept cash only so just keep that in mind. We managed to pay via a bank transfer. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

Location - In a quiet unassuming neighbourhood Staff - The caretaker is very good and helpful without being judgemental. Atmosphere - The atmosphere is chill and there is no one to give you judgmental looks on entry/exit if you are a couple Room - The room was pretty and very well thought of. special mention to the owner for keeping books and that too Agatha Christie books in the shelf Bathroom - The decor of the bathroom was excellent Amenities - With a fridge and microwave, you can actually have a great staycation

Please see comments from earlier stay. I would go back to J's nest again but this room despite it's ample size and balconies, would not be the one I would re-book. It is simply a matter of preference but did not take away the enjoyment of the property, the helpfulness of the staff nor the excellent communication.

I preferred the room which they call the Deluxe studio. The one bedroom apartment was well appointed but I found the sofa bed very uncomfortable and despite the large bathroom and huge tub, I found the access to the tub quite awkward. The chair for watching the TV was unfortunately, really uncomfortable and rather odd.

Room was very clean and nicely decorated, and the balcony was really nice. Facilities were also fine, there were dining set and coffee sachets, water heater, mosquito repellants etc among the basic things. Wifi signal was also strong enough for my office work.

I think it was little bit more expensive than it should be as the size of the room was average and it could be more justified if probably breakfast would have been complimentary. Also, the late check-in charge to be given to the caretaker should be taken care of by the owner I think as 24hours check-in should be allowed in a hotel within the main city.

Exceptionally well maintained and beautiful property. I have been there multiple times and I have never been disappointed by the service or anything. The host is super sweet and helpful.

There is nothing to not like about this place but I see price is constantly increasing for this property now but yes that is again a positive as it must be increasing as per high demand.

In a challenging city like Kolkata, Westerners need a restful, well-appointed place to get back to and Joey's nest fits the bill. The facilities were superb including the Bengali cuisine we ate regularly in our room. The hostess and her staff were all very helpful and friendly. Overall the accommodation was extremely good value.

The location is a little further out than some people would like but even then, it was relatively easy to order Uber cabs that were efficient and reasonably priced.

Joey's Nest is an excellent haven in leafy Salt Lake. Rooms are modern, well decorated, and extremely comfortable. The location is very good too, and the staff were very helpful too. We will definitely be staying again in Joey's Nest and can highly recommend it.

Payment options - cash only which is difficult for those from abroad who aren't used to a cash economy. Our family visiting from Australia considered a hotel over Joey's as they don't accept debit/credit card.

The host Summauli Pyne was extremely caring and sweet. She has such a lovely space where you can have good times. It's a residencial area surrounded by greeneries. Also the caretaker Tapas Da stayed up late so that we can have hasstle free check-in. Home away from home.

Beautiful property and location for staycation. Well decorated, clean and I loved the collection of books and my favourite guitar. Will recommend this to everyone.
