I really liked the location of the hotel, it was easy to get to and despite being in the mountains, there were many amenities and local places to visit. The rooms were more than spacious and the beds were quite comfortable to say in. For the price we paid for, we really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffet, which were the highlights of the hotel. The buffet had a good selection of food to choose from. I especially liked the dinner buffet with its unlimited crab legs, which was the star of the meal. Aside from the meals, the onsen was a nice way to cap off the night or start the mornings, the temperature was just right.

It was a surprise to us that despite the website handling all our bookings, there was still an up-sell for the use of the swimming pool. This was something that was not mentioned when booking on the website and was one of the main draws as to why we wanted to stay in the first place. Maybe include this already in the price instead of it being an add-on. The wifi was also not an ideal thing, as it either kept dropping or was extremely slow, quite surprising especially since mobile data was faster. Lastly, the water pressure in the toilets left much to be desired.

Wonderful location. Room was spacious. Breakfast was exceptional - tremendous variety. Staff was very friendly and helpful, despite the language barrier.

Facilities were dated, and in many areas musty smell, with some water intrusion.

Peaceful Location, close enough to the ski park we wanted to visit. We could have stayed our whole trip at the hotel with food options, pool and onsen. The staff was accommodating to us not speaking Japanese and very friendly. The room catered to family with kids slippers, robes and toothbrushes. We enjoyed exploring all the local scenery, waterfalls and beautiful town of Karuizawa. We would love to return again.

Call the restaurants require reservations but you have to make them when you check in. the pool price was per visit not for a day so when we left to feel the kids lunch thinking we could come back they wanted us to pay again. the room was so hot I couldn’t sleep and your not allowed to open the windows. the door to the shower was locked and despite calling front desk due to language barrier we couldn’t get it resolved

supposed to have many amenities but each had to be paid for (eg table tennis, indoor pool)

facilities was poorly maintained, furniture old and rooms dark & creepy, they do not clean up the rooms each day, buffet dinner on Christmas Eve was poor quality, and the onsen is crowded and filled with noisy tourists
