We liked that it was a modern property, done in a traditional Japanese style. Spacious, tatami rooms with really comfortable beds. The Onsen was large, clean and relaxing. The whole place was quiet and clean and you could wear your pyjamas. It had dormitory beds which we wouldn't hesitate to use in future. It felt like a hostel in many positive ways and we chatted to other guests about their travels. We enjoyed the fire pit and toasted marshmallows and had complimentary tea and drinks and ate our 7/11 dinner at the hotel one night, but enjoyed the local Yakiniku another night.

They advised us not to rent bikes due to the high winds. No one's fault and it couldn't be helped and we appreciated their safety-mindedness.

The availability of both the onsen and bikes for rent. The breakfast offering was fine but the mains were not very tasty.

More guests appeared in the dorm on my last night of four nights there and someone hiked the air conditioner to 28 degrees Centigrade, too hot to be safe in a small room. I turned it down and someone turned it back up to 28 degrees. When I brought my concern to front desk, the guy expressed no concern and did nothing. So when I went back to the room, I turned the ac down and kept the remote control. Within minutes, someone had a separate remote control that front desk gave her, so she turned the ac back to 28 degrees. All this occured around 11:30 pm.

We stayed in 4 different locations while in Japan. Kona stay offered the most space and comfort; traditional style decor with modern amenities. The location was peaceful and it was so lovely to go for a bicycle ride alongside the river with views of Mt Fuji. The staff were lovely, helpful and professional.

The breakfast included was so minimal in options and sadly low quality and tasteless.

Room was spacious and bedding (mattress, pillows and blanket) all made me feel like home. I slept very well because of it.

The WiFi in the room was super weak, almost like hopeless. You have to stay in common area like breakfast room or lobby to get good signals. The cleaning lady didn’t clean the tea cup that has been used. It’s really unexpected.

Hotel was excellent and lots of cool nice people staying there.

The only thing is the height of the dorm capsules, being on top is uncomfortable to reach. The could be fixed by using non-square ladder rungs. The lockers need redesign but not a major thing. More than two outlets in the capsule is often critical (it was for me but I managed by waking up and changing devices being charged), only one provided.

It is such a great place to stay, the design is really beautiful, everything was super clean, staff is great! It's our second time staying here and we would stay again. I think renting a bike here is in my opinion the best way to explore Izu. The staff suggested trips and the roads that are suitable for us, so we really enjoyed our time there. We tried bunk beds this time and they were actually really big and comfortable, so even though we were a bit skeptical, they turned out to be a great option as well. The onsen was great, clean and never busy.

In the dormitory the lockers are pretty small and there is no place to put big bagpacks, so just something that could be improved. In the end we kept them on the bed as the cubicle was big enough.

Everything!! Breakfast was lovely, complimentary drinks in the reception were a nice added touch. The room was so spacious with very comfortable beds. Wonderful stay. Amazing onsen, lovely bicycle trails. Staff were super friendly. My sister & I loved Kona Stay!! Reccomend to everyone staying in shizouka

Amazing hotel in amazing location of Izu peninsula. We love this place, staff was super friendly and very helpful, the room was beautiful, comfortable, big and cozy, breakfast was delicious with wide selection of asian and western food, great free drinks bar and absolutely gorgeous onsen. We rented ebikes from hotel and had a perfect ride around the cost.

The room was large (35m²). The bed was comfortable. There was also plenty of space to open and pack luggage. There was also a seating area with a table. The toilet and shower is clean and well-maintained. On weekday nights, the public indoor onsen is almost a private onsen as you get to use it with no other guests around. The breakfast is good and delicious. I would recommend getting the hotel breakfast as the nearest convenience store is around 15 minutes walk away. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The bus that stops at the nearest bus stop to the acccommodation runs only until around 7/8pm. Therefore, if you travel by public transport only, you will have to walk around 1km (around 15 minutes) from Izu-Nagaoka station to the accommodation if you reach the station after 7/8pm.

The staff was very friendly and kind and even reserved a great restaurant for us for dinner (thank you Chie). The room had plenty of space and was partially traditional. The combination of bike rental, onsen and fireplace was perfect in my opinion.

More like a suggestion: The proposed routes were in google maps. Having them in Komoot or something similar would be better for Navigation.
