Generally speaking a genuinely great experience, with the location right in the centre of amazing Numazu, and if you are lucky you get a stunning view of either the ocean or Mt Fuji from your room. There are plenty of additional facilities available (but not an onsen bath, mind you) should you be interested, and the town of Numazu itself is something of a hidden gem that I can strongly recommend (it has the longest beach in all of Japan - walking distance from the hotel - from which you can see the sun set over Mt Fuji on a not-too-rainy day, which is an amazing view; plus a very cosy old market street - right next to the hotel, I might add). Parking is also available in the basement at a reasonable price. It seems they have also recently renovated the interior of the rooms, which used to be ever so slightly shabby (but not anymore). Breakfast buffet also worth the cost.

Consistently great, and although nothing big to complain about (just a few minor things not worth listing here), the hotel also never reached that "extra" level required for a perfect score (especially not when considered the price tag). Add an onsen facility, or a few other things to make it "special", and it would probably reach 10/10.

It was the best hotel I stayed at in Japan. The staff was very friendly. The room had two beds, so I used one to keep my luggage. It was comfortable and in an excellent area. If you're a fan of Yohane, this place is definitely for you. There's a room decorated with Yohane-themed items and Aikyan’s autographs. The surrounding area has many shops with Love Live decorations, and the hotel is right in front of Yohane’s house.

Very helpful and polite staff. The breakfast was excellent, with options for every taste (¥1,650 per person if paid the evening before). We also enjoyed the free Happy Hour drinks from 5 to 8 p.m., which was a nice bonus. Free bicycle rentals were a great touch and made exploring the area easy and fun. The location is fantastic — close to the ocean, with a beautiful river view from our room. Highly recommended for a comfortable and relaxing stay!

The staff were fabulous and very helpful. They gave us a lot of information in English. The location was close to the station. The breakfast had a lot of Japanese and Western style food and drinks to choose from. It was that good a deal that we booked another 2 nights. The view of Mt Fuji from the room.

The hotel looks a bit tired, but for the price we paid, it wasn't an issue.

This hotel is great due to its central location. You are 3 minutes away from NAKA MISE SHOPPING STREET, the quintessential Japanese shopping arcade in the middle of the street where you ABSOLUTELY MUST eat at DONGURI, a very old restaurant where the typicial Japanese dishes are delivered to you floating on a stream of water. We love that restaurant. Don't miss this famous mum and pop restaurant. So, to get back to Numazu Riverside Hotel, it is a charming hotel with great views on the river or on Mount Fuji. The staff is very helpful, there is an English speaking non Japanese staff lady, very helpful if you do not speak Japanese. The carpets in the hallways definitely need to be taken out and changed but if keeping them like they are keeps the prices down, then leave the old carpets on! At the reception, there is a table offering free cosmetic amenities, mum and I loved it! The bathrooms are also packed with personal grooming stuff if you have forgotten everything home. The room also offers great slippers that you can keep (as in most Japanese hotels by the way). You may find that the corridors smell of tobacco, something that doesn't happen in Western Europe. I guess you will need to specify that you wish a non-smoking room. If you wake up jet lagged at 4am, make a beeline for the 7 Eleven Store nearby to get some great snaks, it is open 24 hours. I posted a photo. Breakfast in Hotel: we only took it once there. It was good, a bit pricey as we had not reserved the night before. Lots of Japanese and continental foods to enjoy. They also have a nice coffee shop that we didn't have the time to enjoy, we will do it next year. We plan to go back, of course! Central location, great views over the river and reasonable prices: what else do you need? One more thing: silly me forgot my phone charger on the wall. The hotel kept it and my niece was able to pick it up for me. Brownie points for Numazu Riverside Hotel!!!

Nothing really. Maybe the old carpets as I said earlier but if keeping them can keep the hotel prices down, then please keep the old carpets!!! Ha ha ha.

The location is great. I can reach the location easily by driving The room is clean with everything I need for staying The reception service is good and I can enjoy staying here. However, I cannot find a staff at the parking area and no clear parking mark so I do not know how should I park my car I cannot ask for room cleansing for my second night.

The interior (both the room and the rest of the hotel) was a bit dated (not much had changed since the 90s, save the added WiFi), but everything was clean and well-maintained. Hotel restaurants were also closed without any explanation being given, but then again, a lot of restaurants in Numazu were unexpectedly closed that day, so possibly some correlation. Staff were also a lot less English-speaking than they were pre-pandemic, so you may need to know some Japanese if you are going to manage even with the check-in.

Location is great: a 10-minute walk from Numazu station and there is a bus stop in front of the hotel. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Amenities are what you’d expect from a Japanese business hotel. Standard, nothing fancy. Room isn’t large but doesn’t feel cramp. Decently clean.

Wall is pretty thin so you can hear people in the hallway.

Location is brilliant, only a few minutes walk from the train station down the main road. Close to the shopping district and very quiet with rooms offering great views across the river. The staff were fantastic and friendly and the restaurant we went to for breakfast was brilliant with the range on offer
