I lived in the Suva area for over 10 years and frequently ate lunch at the Holiday Inn during the week as our office was less than a block away. I had not been back to Suva for several years but had to make a last-minute trip there to attend to some business. I thought about booking the Grand Pacific which sat vacant for many years during our residency in Fiji, but decided the Holiday was slightly more convenient and am happy I stayed there. The staff was professional, helpful, and Fijian happy; the room was updated, clean, and spacious; and the food was good, with the breakfast buffet (omelets made to order and a self-serve cappuccino machine was much appreciated) better than I remembered. All in all, the HI exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend it for business travelers to Suva.

Suva is Suva and the rainy weather can take its toll on buildings and sometimes commercial properties suffer from a slightly damp smell, but the Holiday Inn was well maintained and the public areas as well as the sleeping rooms (including the bedding), were fresh and clean smelling. It was raining buckets during my brief stay, and they had a leak in the lobby ceiling which was attended to almost immediately. The service on the outdoor patio could have been better, but the hotel had a large group staying there so some patience was required, but it did not bother me too much. The coffee and pastry kiosk in the lobby was a nice addition.

Location is convenient and room was nice with a huge shower. Breakfast buffet was excellent and had lots of options of hot and cold items. Franke Cappuccino machine for coffee was delicious. Outside the restaurant there is a coffee bar and it sells incredible desserts, and by the pool area, you can order wood fired pizza which looks delicious. Pool area is beautiful and overlooks the bay.

We were placed in the north wing, so to access our room we crossed through the conference section, and I felt like an intruder on the meeting events. Outside lounge overlooks the pool area, so it’s not as private and relaxing. Parking lot was tiny and crowded, and it was lucky for us we visited during low season.

I like that the workers are very helpful. The bartenders made the drink relatively quick despite lots of customers. The food taste exceeded my expectation and price was cheap! Bathroom was clean and hot water was on point. The bed was as very comfy.

I didn’t like the fact that guests are not able to swim, it is only for checked in customers. Had to get 3 rooms in the end, just so my family and I could swim. Initially booked 1 room for my partner and I.

The breakfast was fantastic. Best out of everywhere we stayed (2 other resorts). Friendliest staff as well! The design of having the wash basin outside the shower and toilet was great. It meant you could wash yr hands, brush yr teeth while someone else was in the shower. There was a washing machine guests could use with laundry powder provided. So helpful! Central location. We walked to the handicraft markets, museum and garden, and lovely walk along the sea wall. Great restaurants nearby.

It was all great.

The central location and comfort. Amazing and hard-working staff.Loata,Peni, and Hasmukh were amazing 👏

Just the overall layout of the sports area seating combined with partial dining gets loud and noisy. The waiting times to receive meals and drinks need to be improved .It's clear this place gets way busier to have the limited staff running around in busy periods.

Breakfast could have been better. It was more the service that was disappointing than the food. Cups were not replaced on time. It's a breakfast service, guests should not have to wait for tea/coffee cups. Had to ask for cups. Spoons were not replaced quick enough near the buffet. When they finally did, the saucers in which the spoons were resting had pools of water in them. Not a good look!

The breakfast variety could be improved. Ordered poached eggs, took 20 minutes to get to our table. We had finished eating by then. If you have a curry as an option, at least have roti or some kind of flatbread to accompany it. Quality of food should be improved. We had dinner one night, fish and chips, fish was overcooked and dry. There was no lemon served with it. Another person ordered the asian noodle soup, the presentation could have been better. It was served in such a huge bowl, could have fed 2 people. It just wasn't very appealing.

Amazing housekeeping staff, rooms were stocked daily with bottles of Fiji Water, and everything was clean and tidy. Concierge at the entrance are super helpful, one in particular named Peni(hopefully I got his name right) greets you like long-lost friend. Remembered my husband's name as well and regularly checked on us. Fabulous restaurants with loads of options to choose from. Nice clean pool with readily available towels and heaps of lounging chairs. Definitely recommend Will surely be here for my future visits.

Quality and variety of choice for all meals was exceptional for the right price . The Rooms were to New Zealand standards and very clean and dry . The staff all were engaging and competent

Pricing Variations make it feel like a lottery so You felt that with what you paid on some nights you were over charged

Friendly and professional staff. Exceptional fresh food. Clean and very large room. The vibe in the Hotel was exceptional. Exceeded our expectations. AAA+++ for service. We came to lay our Uncle to rest and the staff were just so fabulous!

Would have appreciated a lift as I have several medical issues affecting my breathing. A Pacific menu would have been great. Visiting Fiji you want to taste some of the local dishes like raw fish or green coconuts. Hopefully some Pacific dishes will be added to the menu at our next visit.

I liked the exceptionally friendly staff. Always welcoming and friendly. They helped us 2 x with recommending and organising transport to events. Food was great and there are a lot of places to socialise, drink and chat. Our room was very nice. Upstairs on the end, and our balcony looked out to the water. Very private. The room had everything we needed.

Unable sometimes to use the laundry facilities because sports teams- Sevens Ferns had their washing going continuously and an also the dryer. A dedicated facility for a sports team would be nice.
