This is a haven of peace and rural beauty. It's a traditional French 'Chambres d'Hôtes' set-up - a little bit like staying with a very kind relative who you chat with at the breakfast/dinner table to get to know each other and learn about the places of interest nearby. It's a bit like a home from home, where you can relax in the garden or read a book in the little guest-lounge area. If you prefer the anonymity of a standard Holiday-Inn type hotel, then this isn’t the place for you. Brigitte gave us a warm welcome and showed us to our spacious bedroom with a view of the lovely garden, shaded by grape-vines growing along the wooden over-hanging eaves. There was a huge oak beam on the ceiling and everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was VERY comfortable (not too soft like some of the previous reviews have said) and we both slept solidly like babies! Anyone who wants to escape the noise and bustle of the city – come here! It was so quiet and tranquil! There is a sweet dog too who is friendly but very chilled-out. The house and garden have a classy old-fashioned rustic feel, with beautiful old furniture and Brigitte takes great care with all the little details, for example the meals were served with gorgeous silver utensils and nice crockery. We rang ahead to ask Brigitte if we could have dinner, and she prepared us a lovely home-cooked meal which we had in the garden. Most the food she serves are home-made, including the yoghurt and jams at breakfast. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs to have a good rest and re-charge. We’re looking forward to going back again!

Stunning property, extremely comfortable and surrounded by a wonderful garden in a peaceful place in the French wine country. Brigitte is an exceptional hostess who demonstrates great care and culture, also very talented cooker. Excellent fresh and homemade products ! A place to go, absolutely.

Breakfast was lovely with much of it homemade. The beds were extremely comfortable and we liked the location. We enjoyed eating with other guests as well as the hostess.

We liked ancient traditional Burgundian houses with their quirky interiors so probably not suitable for guests who expect modern interiors.

Remote location, traditional, calm and tranquil surroundings, amazing dinner, an exceptional welcoming host, comfortable bed, what would one wish after a long, 10 hours drive? The only downside is that we spent only one night, just a stop on our way home after a one week holiday in Tuscany.

We availed ourselves of Madame's offer of table d'hote and were pleased we did; the meal was excellent and Madame good company. After a couple of glasses of wine our rusty French had improved considerably! The breakfast was also very welcome.

We might not have found La Cassinette without our in-car GPS device.

The house is stunning and in a beautiful setting. The host is very welcoming. It is a treat to stay here - we return every year.

Our host was amazing and made the stay one that was so unique and welcoming. Staying in a old farm house was such an authentic experience and was a highlight of our trip.

The host is interesting and interested. The room is cosy, well equipped, the bathroom as well. The breakfast is very, very nice, containing quite a lot of homemade delicaties.
