Spacious room with air-con, good lighting, three chairs, china (not paper) cups, a mini fridge and a well-equipped bathroom. Parking was good, breakfast was plentiful. We didn’t dine in the on-site restaurant (nothing for vegetarians, although okay for meat eaters). The size and facilities of the bedroom and shower room were really excellent: it was a pity we were staying one night only. This hotel is well-frequented by groups (especially schools), but there were a number of areas one could be tucked away in peacefully. It’s a 25-minute walk to the Menin Gate, partly along a non-pavemented road, but still safe to walk.

Limited menu for vegetarians.

Very reasonable price for what is effectively a lodge hotel. Staff were all super friendly, particularly the rather mad receptionist, waiter, barman with the beard who was great fun. Room basic but clean and comfortable. Bathroom good with nice shower. Breakfast very good - probably the best we have had in France - buffet style with scrambled egg, bacon, beans, cold meats, cheeses, cakes, pastries, bread, yoghourts and fruit juice. Quite a few coach parties in for breakfast but not an issue and half the hotel was full,of school kids on trips but again, not an issue and they didn’t do breakfast in the main area. Food in the restaurant was very reasonably priced, plentiful and nice. They have a nice bar but we didn’t use it. Best of all (sad I know), they had BBC1 as a TV channel! Would definitely stay here again if we visit Ypres.

Nothing really.

The room was excellent, spacious, excellent bathroom, tea n coffee in room. Small fridge, plenty of space for hanging an storing gear. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. The bar was good and very reasonably priced beer. Would i stay there again.... yes, but i now know what rom to request and know to take cash to pay.

The card machine was not working - to pay we were expected to go to Ypres town centre and find a cash machine! fortunately we scraped enough together to pay. Strange seeing as the card was on file from the booking? Noise.... door slamming by other guests and the hallway was laminate.. great... suitcases being rolled up an down the corridor.

Triple room is adequate enough for two adults and one child. The breakfast is continenal and it’s substantial enough to set you off for the day. It’s a bit out of the way from town centre but we found a lot of parking space anytime of the day. We have a five year old boy, not much for him to do but we only came back to the room after venturing out for the day to rest a little bit and have a shower before dinner. The Aircon works a treat as it is very hot during the day.

The pillow could have been better. My husband said he didn’t sleep very well because the pillow is not comfortable enough and I agree with him. It is a bit lumpy and it needs upgrading. We arrived just after 3pm and we were told at reception that there was no electricity in the room until 4:30 pm . The guy who checked us in wasn’t very welcoming, no smiles and not very pleasant at all on our visit to Ypres. He needs to sign up on a guest relation course.

We have stayed here before. The welcome from the reception was great, nothing was too much trouble. The location was great, just a short distance from the town centre. The room was lovely, a nice size, very clean and comfortable, lots of added extras. We had hoped to get dinner in the hotel restaurant, but we arrived late due to severe traffic congestion, but it was closed when we arrived. The breakfast the following morning had an wonderful selection, there is nothing I can fault, If I could give more than 10 stars, I would

Couldn't get anything to eat at 8pm

The breakfast was very good. A good mix of continental and cooked food. A good selection of hot drinks as well as cereal and fruit juices. The restaurant had a limited evening menu, that said the portions were generous, well presented and well cooked. The staff were friendly and courteous, all the areas are clean, and airy. Our room had the normal things, TV, tea making facilities and a fridge. The bathroom was good and the shower was fabulous, very powerful.

The lodge is a bit tired, the towels were passed their best, on the thin side. The lodge is used by young student coach tours. Although they are accommodated in a separate wing noise was an issue on a couple of nights.

Staff very helpful. Room comfortable. Lovely dinner on arrival. Breakfast very good with a lot of choice. Air conditioning in bedroom was very welcome on a very hot weekend. Very close and convenient to Ypres town centre. 5 minutes by car to one of a few free car parks (staff were very helpful with that) About a 20 minute walk to town centre from the hotel if you feel like doing that.

All good apart from tea, coffee and sugar in room wasn't stocked for our arrival and wasn't restocked for the following day.

Nice convenient hotel for the city and local WW1 sites, good self-serve breakfast with lots of choice. Quiet rooms and competitively priced. Friendly staff.

Stayed here several times, and I have noticed that it's starting to look a bit "tired", nothing that's really off-putting but little details light bulbs not replaced, decoration needs touching up squeaky doors , car park gravel pot holes etc.

Lovely rooms with air con and it was needed, check in was really easy as was access and parking the bikes. Staff were great and the service was spot on. Breakfast was exceptional with a huge choice of fruit, breads, cakes, cereals and hot food, and they had English tea. The location was perfect for our evening at the Menin Gate. Definitely a hotel to return to if you are looking at the WW1 battlefields.

Nothing.

The room was very comfortable and had all the facilities needed. The breakfast room is very spacious and breakfast itself very nice. Well located hotel with plenty of parking. The food in your restaurant was superb.

Please fry proper sausages for breakfast. Frankfurters are not nice. Also, can I make a suggestion, Please replace all towels, the towels supplied were threadbare and had to be replaced daily.
