A perfect hotel, and better than we'd expected! Outdoor garden areas, friendly and discreet staff. A perfect location for exploring the Dordogne. Montignac itself is a charming town, running alongside the Vezere River and you can walk everywhere. Loads of restaurants, shops and charming places to sit alongside the river. Particular good points about the Hotel Roseraie: -Air-conditioning in our room!! A lifesaver as we spent a week in the heat wave (temps over 100 degrees). -NO piped music whatsoever in the hotel (only the birds)! -Lovely interior rooms, comfortable chairs, lots of books. -Wonderful breakfast (whatever your nationality!).
Would have liked stronger light-bulbs. The reading lights by the beds were a bit too dim to read by comfortably. (1500+ lumens would have done it).

Excellent location - right on the banks of the Vézère River, closest to the starting point of river rafting among the hotels in the town. The property has it all - tranquility, privacy, and the vibrant atmosphere - with a very popular bar just 10m from the entrance. There also is a lovely fine dine restaurant too with sitting inside or outside in the garden. The hotel’s architecture and decor are a visual treat. Whether you’re enjoying the peaceful garden, relaxing on the terrace, or simply taking in the ambiance, there’s a strong sense of history and charm throughout. One of the highlights for us were the common areas next to the rooms with beautiful furnishing and bookshelves. The hotel offers a thoughtfully curated collection of books in French, German, and English, including for kids —perfect for winding down in the evenings or on a quiet afternoon indoors after visiting the Lascaux caves.

A lovely, typically French hotel. Madame made us very welcome. We had dinner in the restaurant. It was exceptional. If you are looking for simple food, pizza, burgers etc this is not for you. But if you are looking for a memorable meal, full of flavour and different textures, this is a great place and , at 38 euros, I think that's correct, great value. We had not been to Montignac before. It's a lovely town and the hotel is perfectly located. Lots of free parking next to the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and will plan to return.
We rather regretted not planning to stay two nights.

The hotel is located near the historic centre of the village; it is very easy to find. It is located near to restaurants, shops and other facilities. There are free car parks adjacent to hotel and easily accessible. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely comfortable with good facilities. The hotel itself is superb and is very pleasant with a wonderful ambiance. It has a large bar and restaurant, a terrace and other facilities. The breakfast on was lovely with a great choice of food and beverages. 11/10!
Nothing.

A beautiful old mansion - well maintained - with large gardens and a pool, in the centre of Montignac. All the public rooms were charming, as was our bedroom. The hotel was quiet, the beds comfortable and the rooms well heated - we were there in Autumn. There was free public parking outside, and also on the river out back. Our hosts and the staff were friendly and breakfast was excellent with many food options. It was wonderful wandering around the town and exploring and we went to the Lascaux caves.
It was a little hard to find as the hotel is in a square hidden from the road. It may be hard to get parking in peak season.

This is a beautiful French hotel in a great location in Montignac. I booked one of the smaller rooms and for one person it was perfect. It was super comfortable, very clean and I was extremely grateful for the air conditioning. I had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and both were very good. Great selections at breakfast and dinner on the terrace was amazing. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and when you are traveling alone these things make a big difference. The gardens and pool are also beautiful and a great place to relax on a hot afternoon. Thank you so much Katia and Thierry!
Having to leave!

This is a beautiful, very French hotel. We have stayed here before and hope to return again. The rooms are beautifully decorated. We didn't have breakfast as we felt €16 pp was a lot for a croissant and coffee etc. The view from our room over the garden and river was lovely. The pool is fabulous!
Stepping into the bath was awkward. They could do with a grab bar. There was one socket next to the bed but my double adaptor was too big to fit it! The pillows were OK, not the most comfortable. No tea and coffee making facilities.

Charming hotel by the riverside located off town square in a very pretty French town. Lovely characterful property. Staff very friendly and helpful. One of the best meals we had in France. Felt very lucky that on the night we stayed there was a festival in the town. Made for an unforgettable night
No criticism of any note (bar closes a bit early but there are some bars along the riverside and in the town

The setting (with an expansive jardin) was beautiful, the room just fine (a little small), the staff (and particularly the owners) wonderful and the food to die for!!
I was relieved to have room air-conditioning as it got very hot, but the hotel doesn't control the weather! I often wish breakfasts were not so expensive (not just here), but still, it was a holiday...

In the middle of Montignac, with a private garden and pool, lies this gem. The breakfast en restaurant are great. The service is excellent, the owners do everything to make your stay the best possible.
It’s a boutique hotel, don’t expect a 30 squire foot walk-in shower.
