Modest looking on the outside, this riad is tastefully decorated inside, calm, and pleasant. And, it is in an excellent location for walking around Meknes. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance. We particularly enjoyed the ones with rooftop seating. Very nice, helpful staff. There is a parking lot just outside the riad. If the taxi driver isn't sure, call and ask the staff to explain where you should be dropped. We stayed in one of the superior double rooms at the end of September, 2024. The room was not overly large and it did not have outside windows, but the bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was clean and fresh. Good small soaps and packets of shampoo provided daily. (Using the lower shower head kept the water inside the shower.) Breakfast was served by pleasant waitstaff in a very nice dining room. As in most riads, breakfast was tasty but carb-heavy. The coffee was excellent. We had dinner one night on the roof. We took our own wine. Good food and a pleasant view.

No one wants to hear their partner using the toilet. No one. A proper bathroom door should be installed, along with a bathroom vent/fan, and the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom should be up to the ceiling.

We had a pleasant stay. The small rooftop pool was very welcome and refreshing during the hot summer days. The room was spacious and comfortable.

The holder for the handheld shower in the bathroom was broken (Sherazade Room). This needs to be repaired, and the bathroom door scraped against the floor. These were small details but easy to fix. Perhaps this can be brought to attention. Tip: more variety for breakfast over the days.

+ location was really good, close to the Medina + we could easily park our motorbike in the public parking lot in front, and it was safe for 2 days + the Riad itself is really nice, very peaceful in the middle of an agitated city + breakfast is ok, typical marocan, nothing special

- our room was not the greatest, it had street view and it was really nosy at night. We were hearing the trafic through our plugs - the bathroom din not have a ventilator, all the humidity was in the room generating am unpleasant smell and constant humidity - the hot water for the shower was not working unless you opened the sink faucet at max hot water - the room was small, but we booked a standard room, not sure if the other ones are better

I absolutely loved my stay here. This is a serene and tranquil space, with the most beautiful courtyard and water feature, as you enter the riad. The riad has lots of character and is very authentic. Asmae, staff member, is a wonderful host and welcomes you with mint tea. Asmae is very efficient, so friendly, and an overall lovely person, who goes the extra mile to ensure you have a memorable stay. The rooftop terrace has the best views in Meknes and a pool. The rooms are gorgeous and also very clean. Great breakfast, service, and spacious rooms. Fantastic value for money. I will definitely return here when I next visit Meknes. Also, just to mention, the Meknes music museum is brilliant and less than a 5 minute walk away, by the medina gate. I can highly recommend Volubilis archaeological site too, which is a short drive/taxi ride away. Asmae can give you instructions as to the location of the taxi's for Volubilis. The views from Volubilis are spectacular. The mausoleum is less than a 5 minute walk and Salma's restaurant, next to the mausoleum, serves a great choice of food and has a good rooftop terrace.

This is a hidden gem - the staff are wonderful, the rooms large and fitted with good AC units. The Riad itself has a wonderful rooftop to sit and enjoy Moroccan tea with a small pool for hot days. Located right at the edge of the Medina and in the middle of many tourist attractions it is definitely worth staying here if you plan to explore Meknes.

My only comment is the shower facilities could do with a little bit of an upgrade - the shower head was not fixed in place and tended to flip up mid shower, and the shower door was not sealed so the floor will get soaked. However the bathroom was spotless.

Lovingly restored Riad in the perfect location. All staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast was great and we had dinner there and that was superb. We booked a day trip through them and the car was comfortable, the driver friendly, safe and helpful. Would highly recommend staying here. The only thing I didn't like was the glass door to the bathroom.

The palace of the Riad D´Or is a beauty itself, only by walking in you are already in a special place. The breakfast was very generous and tasty. The team of the Riad extremely gentle, welcoming and ready to help. The Hammam in the Riad is also a special feature if you want to relax on your trip, practical tip inside the Riad

Good location to get into the Medina, inexpensive. Staff was very helpful breakfast included but it was rather limited. Room seemed clean.

Bathroom facilities weren’t ideal. Shower tub was hard to get in and out of and a little rickety. Bring your own toiletries! They only provided a tiny bar of soap and a tiny packet of head & shoulders shampoo. The Safe in the room was broken. Lighting was not great

Riad is beautiful, centrally located, parking in front of riad, excellent breakfast. Mint tea on arrival.

We had no hot water in the bathroom and sheets and pillowcases were not very clean.

beautiful riad in perfect location, nicely decorated cosy rooms. very good breakfast with everything you need. friendly and helpful staff. parking right in front of the riad. nice rooftop terrace with small pool. medina and sights of Meknes are just a few minutes by foot. very good price for what you get.

the noisy other guests who forget that you hear everything in a riad… but this is not the fault of the hosts.
