It was very clean and the decor was tasteful. I loved the little kitchenette—it was so cute and well-equipped for its size. Plenty of coffee, both caffeinated and decaf. Comfortable bedding. Express check-in/check-out—you grab the key when you get there and just drop it in a box when you leave. Good communication regarding check-in. Excellent value -- will definitely stay here again on our next trip through.

Internet was poor -- had to use my mobile wi-fi device for connecting to work. There weren't any hangers for hanging clothes. The bathroom could use a shelf for toiletries (and perhaps the towels) as well as a bathmat and another hook or two for hanging bathrobe, etc.

For a hotel that was built almost 100 years ago, the Hotel Kitsmiller was remarkably clean, comfortable and fresh-feeling. We got to experience that retro vibe that we love, while also enjoying an updated, boutique-style hotel. We were about a 15-minute walk to downtown Fredericksburg (another reason for choosing the Kitsmiller) and the walk felt safe whether we were heading out for the day at 10 a.m. or walking home at midnight. Our room was just the right size, with decor that was charming and rich in Texas culture. While not a choice for guests who prefer more modern or luxe accommodations, if you are seeking something unique and special, the Kitsmiller is a delightful stay as well as a great value!

We liked pretty much everything! However, a more functional deadbolt or even an additional chain lock would have been appreciated - though we never felt unsafe in our room. We liked the retro keychain on our hotel keys!

My husband booked this motel. I will say, I was not expecting much and was a bit upset that he booked an old Motor Court. BUT, arriving in the room I was thrilled at the decor, cleanliness and toiletries. It was an adorable room and I loved it! We stayed 2 nights and I couldn’t have been more impressed. Wonderful little place. Lesson learned, don’t judge a book (Motel) by its cover (outside). I would recommend this place!

Cleanliness, decor, attention to detail in rooms, great shower and coziness. Although right on the busy road, we didn’t hear any traffic noise.

If you're looking for a simple and quiet place to spend the night, this is perfect. Comfortable rooms with unique decor that makes it special. It is located on Marin St, just a few blocks from the city center.

Each room has a parking spot in front. At check-in, I was given a map showing which parking spaces I could use (one in front and one on the side), but on the second night, someone was using the spot in front of our room and partially blocking the other one. I called the office, and to my surprise, they told me they couldn't do anything because the parking spots weren't actually assigned.

I loved how comfortable the bed was. The room was very clean. The property was very quiet which was awesome and I really enjoyed the little table and chairs right outside the door so you could just sit right in front of your room and enjoy the peace outside

I wish there was breakfast and there was a really nice sitting area behind my building but the furniture was very dilapidated and filthy to say the least. I would have really enjoyed sitting out there especially at night. It would be great if they could just replace the furniture with some new pieces.

I've stayed in four different hotels for most of the three months I'm in town for work. This place is by far my favorite!! It's not a five star- it's not trying to be! It's like a tiny community within itself. I got to cook myself a home cooked meal finally because my unit has two actual stove burners!!!!! That was everything for me after months of fast food because only microwaves everywhere else and a strict no hot plate rule around here. I go to sleep with the beautiful sound of cows mooing in the distance (i work overnights so this is about 8am). I wake up and I go see the goats across the street. It's like these little individual houses, a few are two houses side by side but it's like you're in your own little house. It's really adorable and feels very comforting to have a little community around you. And personally pulling right up to my front door - i love too much 😂. Seriously it may not be for everyone but for those of us that get it- it's a little piece of home away from home. You can have your free breakfast, I'll take the peace and serenity here every time.

The road reconstruction was a pain a few nights i was going to work but it's done now.

Bathrooms are kind of small for a big dude but that's OK. Everything else made up for it. I love that they had coffee in the morning in the room. I love they had a microwave the kitchen and I love you could park right in front of your room.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower head was nice. A/C worked well. Linens and towels very clean and smelled fresh. check-in and out was easy. Great night's sleep and quiet.

Would prefer to be closer and within walking distance to shops. But I knew it wasn't when I booked the room. Room a bit small and perhaps cost per night a little too high. But, if spending more time out of the room during a stay, it was very comfortable and slept very well.

Everything about the place as in the room and the privacy is great. Always quiet and pet friendly so that's a plus. I brought my dog Milo.

There was a mishap with a double charge but they fixed it. They could have done more than an apology but it is what it is. Accidents happen. I didnt let it ruin my trip. This won't keep me from coming back but hopefully this never happens again and they fix the issue to prevent it ever happening again.

Very cute and cozy room with 2 queen beds, kitchenette, bathroom with shower, and a living room/dining area. All appliances were clean and in perfect working order. Did I mention the quaint view from our room of farmland with goats and chickens and wildflowers? Close enough to the sights and far enough away to have peace and quiet. The owners gave us a courtesy call when our room was ready and had express check-in/checkout when we stayed.

We are more of a family that likes clean, quiet accommodations--not needing pool, hot tub, etc. One of the kitchen chairs was broken but outside of that no major issues. Room was comfortable and a great value.
