Not my first time here. One of the nicest hotels in Maputo if you don't need a beach. I had the luxury room with view - again, very nice as always - and the view is wonderful. Staff is great, food is good, breakfast too and I even got my morning cappuccino: true, not nespresso or other garbage :) What more to say!

This is almost all over Africa - you got to be Iceman to enjoy the swimming pools ;) Shallower pools might warm up in the Sun, deeper pools just stay - well - cold :) But it's a good pool, once you get a little warmer through exercise.

Great location, lovely staff, the hotel also had most of what you could want from a hotel in Maputo (onsite restaurant, bar, gym) and the rooms were great, very clean and comfortable. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Maputo that doesn't break the bank like Southern Sun, but is a bit nicer than some of the other hotels, you should stay here

Communication between staff - I was leaving early from the hotel, and the night before talked to the front desk who said they had booked a shuttle to take me to the airport, and that they could arrange a breakfast box (unexpected perk) for me to take. The next morning the person on shift didn't know anything about a shuttle or breakfast box, we managed to sort out a taxi though so it all ended well.

Hotel Cardoso is a lovely traditional hotel.. The staff are so friendly and really went out of their way to assist me with printing, documents, ordering taxi etc. Just really wanting to help. Thank you so much for that. After my upgrade * see what I did not like - all was perfect, fantastic views over the Maputo Bay.

I booked the room via Booking.com, as I have previously stayed at the hotel. There was no accurate description of the room, which turned out to be a dark, backside room, badly maintained and not clean. I entered the room that were to be my workplace during six days, found badly maintained furnitire and door as well as a dirty bathroom, especially the toilet was not clean. I just could not see myself staying, working and conduct my duties in that environment. So I had to request and pay for an upgrade. The second matter that I have is that the restaurant menue, food and esp room service food was very limited. For 1-2 nights ok - but working there 4-6 days.... In the end, I did not know what / if to order

Stunning, dated property dotted with a nod to the past. View at the back over the river and bridge. Rooms immaculate and lovely decor. The staff were full of genuine smiles and professional Lunchtime buffet plentiful and tasty

My room was an executive room on the 5th floor. (508). Unfortunately, it it located directly under the gym, so if you are in the room at any time between 7am and 9pm, it is likely you will hear faint music and the regular thud of dropping weights on your ceiling.

The Hotel is very well located and has an exceptional view. It is very quiet, no street noise whatsoever. The bed is very comfortable. The internet works perfectly. All the staff are really wonderful. I am looking forward to staying there again during my next trip to Maputo.

One thing that could be improved would be the shower in the bathroom as there is only the "rain" option. The Hotel provides a shower cap, but it would be nice to have the option to adapt it to the desired height. Still, this is just a small detail, as I will gladly return to this hotel.

Nice views from a balcony, very good breakfast. Nice swimming pool, very clean. Excellent cafe across the road.

When we arrived wanted to pay by card in US dollars and they told me I can pay only MZT by card. If I like to pay by US need to be paid by cash. On them website is written you can pay by US or MTZ by card. After some arguments at reception they excepted card payment by US currency. Make sure it you want to pay different currency you have to have in cash. As receptionist say probably is mistake on the website. I told them they have to correct mistakes like that as it is important for the guests.

Maputo is my City, where I was born and grew up. Hotel Cardoso and the neighborhood (High School, Natural History Museum) is part of my dear childhood memories, and this stay was simply such a blessing for me. The Hotel is beautiful, the staff very kind, wonderful meals and breakfast...amazing! Thanks.

Lovely outlook from the balcony rooms. Great pool. Good breakfast Exceptional rooms with comfy beds and good wifi connectivity. Loved the artwork on display in the hotel too

Only one tiny issue - the bathroom shower leaked out into the bathroom floor despite attempts to stop it. Otherwise exceptional

The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They helped us carry our lagguage, helped us secure parking close to entrance and made sure we were comfortable. The staff just has a way of making people feel special. It's quite neat in and out. Lovely sights. I booked the hotel for my husband birthday and he was welcomed with a surprise birthday present.

The carpets are a bit stuffy and the room didn't have a minibar.

Beautiful, stylish 1930s hotel. Love the decor in the lobby and outdoor pool area. A very comfortable room with a great view over the harbour and bridge.

The room was spacious, but does need a bit of an update, especially in the bathroom shower the floor tiles were really scruffy. I personally liked the old time feel though. I thought the restaurant food was surprisingly average… No fish, or seafood of any note. Very mainstream and bland. The buffet breakfast was excellent.
