The location was absolutely stunning. The hotel was clean. Breakfast was basic but fresh and coffee nice.

We arrived late 10.30pm. There was a small problem getting in but we did manage to sort it ourselves. We thought we'd be spending our first night in the car. However we were given water and coffee when we did get in. It would have been nice to be able to eat there but apart from breakfast you have to drive out. The village is within walking distance but the walk would be dangerous at night in the dark! There was no bedroom drawers for clothes and very little hanging space.

Location with mountain view was perfect, close to the hiking trails. Room was nice and comfortable with the air conditioning. Pool was refreshing on a hot weather. Personnel were frienly and there were a nice cat on the house.

There were no lunch or dinner available on the hotel, and that was a bit of an issue, since Istan didn't have many other options available either. Other guests were smoking around the property, and some point the smoke kept coming to the room, if windows were open. Suggestion to the hotel is to advice guests to smoke on designated areat to keep property clean and comfortable to non-smoking guests as well.

This is a charming hotel. There are beautiful views from the dining room down through the hills to the sea and Marbella, a lovely spot to have dinner while the sun sets. Meals are imaginative and delicious. My room was comfortable and well maintained. Staff were friendly and efficient. I came to explore the area and do some walking, and the hotel was perfect for me.

This is a small, family-run hotel in a rural setting. Anyone expecting big city sophistication might be disappointed, but there wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

Great food, excellent room, amazing location, really affordable, staff super kind and accommodating. Nena the cat is the queen of the place and her happiness a true barometer of how this lovely place makes one feel.

For me it's part of the charm, but a private transport method is needed to reach the place. On that note, I was so lost on the views that I failed to notice the entrance and ended up in Istan, which is a tricky place to drive. Don't be like me, pay attention to Gmaps!

If you're looking to get away and relax this hotel is perfect. The views are stunning and it's peaceful. If you want somewhere with all mod cons then this isn't it but what you get for the price is something else. The village of Istan is not far and walkable for decent eating options. It was my second visit and I would definitely come back for a third. You need a car.

I accept it's basic and good value but it would be great to update the pool furniture...

Amazing place! Beautiful hotel situated in the mountains, 5 min drive to the nearest town. But there is actually everything you need (restaurant and pool - it was cold and rainy outside, but the pool was working) so you can just stay and relax in the hotel. The room itself was amazing (just as described!) and really beautiful with an stunning view, but I had to change it because of really loud neighbors (kids). The lady in the reception was very helpful (thank you so much!) and I got a nice, quiet room, also with a beautiful view and comfortable bed. Both rooms were really clean and have air conditioning. I also recommend the breakfast with a view and delicious coffee! This was one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed in!

We stayed 2 nights and the 1st room had an unbelievable bad bed matress sunk in middle and bed creaking loudly To be fair ir when we complained the next morning after very little sleep they gave us different room which was much better The restaurant was shut Sunday and Monday and had to go to Istan to eat There are only a few eateries there too so be aware not many places to eat esp on a Sunday

The hosts were delightful and couldn’t be more helpful, particularly pointing me in the right direction for good hikes, for which Istan has plenty! Informal hotel, with a gorgeous fire in the lounge, which was welcome on cold nights. Thank you for the extra blankets and bedroom heater too. Wonderful place to relax, inside or out, with stunning views over the reservoir and of the hillside

The rooms weren’t very light which I think would be a good thing in the summer when it’s very hot

Nothing really. Unfortunately the sauna/spa area was fully booked one evening. As it was quiet period in January the restaurant was shut and sometimes only one restaurant open in Istan on Sunday. Sauna area costs 10Euro for one hour FYI.

I stayed there for about week. Beautiful small hotel with special touch ( books, plants etc) The locations is fantastic with beautiful views , near Istan - small rural village ( only 700 m by walk), lots of silence. Sauna available there for a small fee. Room was clean and with nice rustic decor. Staff really nice and attentive.

Nice and fresh continental breakfast , however very boring - every morning the same fruit, juice and piece of ham / cheese. The owner quite reserved, I had impression that being there for about the week I had overstayed his welcome. I hope that I am wrong.
