The hotel was perfectly placed to reach every part of Alghero we wanted to visit on foot. This included Lido beach. Also with bus stops outside we could visit other beaches by bus. The breakfast had variety and eating this with superb views. We had a warm welcome from Dave each morning. Clean and well finished decor throughout with quaint touches like a shoe shine machine in the corridor!

Nothing major. Minor detail in room - one drawer without handle and slight issue with bathroom fan but this didn’t impact our long weekend. I tried to leave a message but may have got lost in translation and it was a bank holiday! We would have marked this as urgent if we had a longer stay. This in no way would stop us from returning or highly recommending the hotel.

Excellent location, fantastic sea view and friendly & helpful staff! We stayed here in May for 2 nights through two different reservations as consecutive nights were not available in either reservation sites then. And we like our stay at Hotel Catalunya very much. The staff (a young lady-thank you) tried to bridge the two so we didn't have to move rooms the next day. Although we ended up having to change rooms, we appreciated her effort and the move was smooth. Both rooms were fantastic with great sea views, especially the 1st night in Jr. suite with a balcony. The rooms were spacious with everything we needed. Although the furniture and deco are not luxury, they are clean, decent and simple for its category. When the room temperature was too cold, we found out that the front desk could easily adjust it to our liking. The hotel is next to a park, walking distance to the old town, marina and good restaurants. The staff's recommendation of nearby seafood restaurants was excellent! Thanks to you-we had one of the best (Catalan-style lobster & freshest muscles) seafood dinners.

The hotel parking was a bit far, three or four blocks away, but still manageable and a guarantee for a peace of mind. It was a bit challenging to park/stop for unloading at arrival, especially with one-way streets. Breakfast was mediocre, but the sea view from the restaurant was to die for.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location within easy walking distance of the quaint old town with many restaurants and boutiques. Supermarket around the corner. We had a spacious room with balcony, bed was comfy, shower very good. ZDF and 3SAT tv stations. The view from the breakfast room is amazing, also in the evening. We enjoyed our 7 night stay and would definitely recommend.

Sadly, the restaurant is only open for groups of hotel guests of 10 or more and the hotel’s parking garage is a 10 minute walk.

Desk staff: very kind and helpful, they arranged for us to get laundry done and gave us amazing local food recommendations. Buffet breakfast: exceeded expectations in its breadth and quality. Junior suite with balcony: super spacious, lovely design, with a very comfortable bed and that balcony that we never wanted to leave because of its amazing views of the town, marina and the ocean. The sunsets alone were totally worth the upgrade!

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was such a beautiful touch being on the last floor with an amazing view of the town and the port, food was delicious! The town of Alghero is so beautiful and this hotel is at a great location. So close to the old port and all the restaurants and stores. I would highly recommend it!

Hotel Parking is a few blocks down the street. Not too far but not attached to the hotel. The doors also would get stuck and not open all the way, so you definitely need to get out of the car and push the door open all the way. But still very appreciative that they do have this as an option, as it is not easy to find available street parking spots.

Booked for drinks in Skybar, very nice but unfortunately they were understaffed and it took a long time to be served. Parking is a little bit awkward as its a few streets away, but still better than having to find alternative parking.

Everything went so smoothly from checkin to checkout. Breakfast was amazing! Plenty of gluten free, lactose free and vegan options. The skybar is such a lovely addition- we loved the complimentary tasters with our drinks! Our room was cleaned to perfection every single day- Hotel Catalunya is a five minute walk from the old town central- we will definitely be back!

Central and staff excellent and responsive. Great breakfast with fried eggs and bacon! Excellent range. Top views from our room on 8th floor balcony. Beds on 5th floor very comfortable but 8th floor much harder. So slept well on 5th floor.

No seating in the actual foyer for waiting for taxi. Had 3 rooms over the time and most had basin plugs that jammed and needed maintenance to release.

We got a room upgrade, which was very spacious with a wonderful view of the harbour and the Ferris Wheel. Very comfortable bed. Good storage space. Short walk through a lovely garden into town centre. Great amenities in the vicinity. Great breakfast (buffet style) with lots of variety. Terrace seating has amazing views of the sea and town.

Decor is a little bit dated but not a deal breaker. Everything else is great.

Alghero is a mandatory place on any visit to Sardinia and this hotel is for sure one of the best places to stay in town. We came by it as we got a last minute promotion from booking and what a surprise it was, everything was good about it, the hotel itself, the best location within a walking distance to the old town walls, great staff and a nice breakfast.

No negative remarks, everything was perfect!
