The hotel location and view of the water was spectacular !! Staff was friendly and helpful, off street parking was great, and both the breakfast and dinner were arguably the BEST IN TOWN! (nice dining room) Our room had a great view of the sea, was a good size and had comfortable beds. The only possible drawback was the lack of air conditioning; we were there in June and it was not needed, but might be desired in July or August. We loved this place and will return in 2027!

We enjoyed this hotel mainly because of its location in the Kerry, just minutes away from Portmagee. This allowed us to visit Skellig Michael island after standing by for 3 days for suitable landing conditions. The location is also very good for the Skellig Ring we drove a couple of times. About the hotel, very nice room with beautiful sea view, private parking and very good restaurant. Hotel staff was fantastic and very helpful.

Beautiful hotel and in a great location overlooking the ocean! We drove and found it quite easily. They had parking out the back which made it easy for us to park and enter the premises. The room was large and spacious and so was the bathroom. The hotel was connected to a bar which we found appealing for afternoon drinks! They also had various other rooms you could use such as a quiet room and a billiards room. There was lots to choose from for breakfast and it was always delicious! We had a great stay thank you!

No laundry service so we had to use a 'launderette' which was beside a service station which the locals use so there was a bit of a wait. There was only three and not much cover from the rain!

I liked the location of the hotel, the parking and the nearby supermarket. The room size, that on the second night we got a room with a great view of the sea The good breakfast, the patient attitude of each of the waiters and the maid I liked the kindness and helpfulness of Hotel receptionist :Lawrence and Michael.It was quiet nice and pleasant stay.

The mattress was not comfortable for me. The sink in the shower is too low.

The location of the hotel is excellent - within walking distance to the village. There is a lovely bayside walking path in front of the hotel, and the views of the bay are spectacular. The breakfast was very good, but could have used more cold options, i.e. cereals, yogurt, and fruits. The rooms were large with wonderful 3-directional views from floor to ceiling windows in the little sitting area. The history of Butler Arms is fascinating.

The rooms were quite dated - needed new carpet (very worn in spots), needed painting/wallpaper. The windows also needed cleaning. The hotel only has one elevator, so there is a lot of walking to do to get from room to restaurant and bar for people with mobility issues. The main hotel bar was closed (I presume for renovations), but at least the attached Fisherman's Bar was open for drinks and casual meals.

Centrally located to town, actually in town, and the staff was just terrific. Nice stop at halfway point on the Ring of Kerry. Central store right at the back of the hotel and ice cream shop also. Breakfast was by order, limited but not a buffet. There is a grass courtyard outside with tables and chairs where you can order food and drinks just about all day long, the view is of the ocean and just stunning. The place gets hopping on the weekends so go early if you want outside table. The food is exceptional and plentiful. Calamari is just right. The staff works hard all day long with the tables inside and out, making sure everyone is getting what they want. Kudos to the Staff. Hit the Fishermans Bar for a nightcap, staff friendly and great fun.

No air conditioning but a good stiff breeze from the sea will cool the room down during the evening. We just happened to hit early summer, 20-22 Celsius, while we were there but gorgeous weather.

The hotel was in a perfect location. Across from the beach so handy. Breakfast was just beautiful. Staff so friendly and accommodating. Bedroom was very spacious and very comfortable bed. Hotel has a lovely charm to it. We really enjoyed our two nights.

The location was perfect,with easy access in and out of the property. My room had a lovely view of the bay and it was nice and quiet.

Perhaps more generously placed toiletries/tea/coffee../water,esp during hot weather..small luxuries that would justify the price.

Waterville in general was great, our first visit, won't be the last. Butlers arms is in a great location and the staff were very friendly, overall it's a nice hotel

Breakfast wasn't great tbh, eggs on both dishes so overcooked, really spoilt it.

Friendly staff great hotel and I even charged the car. Couldn’t recommend the Butler Arms more. Love to come back with my wife.
