In my opinion, this is an absolutely exceptional stay! From beginning til end all around fantastic. Comfy, clean, very pretty, exactly as shown in pictures and well located. Breakfast really good! Lilja& Johan are one of the most kind hosts I've ever met! I felt right at home! Bear in mind it's a homestay, not a serviced hotel! So remain respectful and treat everything as it was your own! For your info: use of kitchen is not possible, so plan your meals/ provisions accordingly. To you, Lilja& Johan, thank you so much for this awesome stay! I had an absolutely amazing time!

This is an exceptional place to stay because of where it is located within the archipelago and the effort the host makes to ensure her guests have a great time. The breakfasts are incredible because when you stay for several nights she varies what is provided and what she serves up is plentiful, refilling the table regularly. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Do make sure you sign up for the Thursday walk, soup and wine. Benjamin is the tour guide and gives a fantastic insight into life in the Islands. Lilja is then then the hostess who excels on your return from the walk. Do not miss the opportunity to be part of it.

This really was a special place to stay. Its location was excellent and with the Faroes fantastic roads nowhere was more then a safe, easy drive away. Facilities were good at the home and the host prepared a lovely breakfast ever morning. She was also engaging and keen to give true 'Faroe islands experience', giving recommendations and helping plan itineraries for each day. The host also prepared a traditional fish dinner on one evening and sharing this with other visitors led to a very memorable evening of great food and conversation. It goes without saying that the Faroe islands are stunningly beautiful and it was a privilege to experience them with such great accommodation and host.

Lilja is truly a wonderful host. Not only was she there to greet us in person at our fairly late check-in, but she also served home-made breakfast every morning with fresh-baked bread and local delicacies such as lamb sausage and salmon. Tea, coffee and juice was always available. We stayed at a spacious room connected to the garage. The room was clean, facilities were excellent, and it was nice and quiet and with a mountain view on one side, and the sea on the other. Bed was comfortable, and it was easy to find parking as well. There is also a charming little garden. It was also nice to hit up conversations with other guests at breakfast, and it never felt crowded as there is only room for a few guests to stay at any one time. Hanging out with Lilja and her cat, Simba, was a pleasure and we would not hesitate to stay at this wonderful home again.
There isn't much to criticize. The bathroom seemed to run out of hot water fairly fast, but there was usually enough for two people to take a shower. It isn't always possible to park right in front of the house, especially when other guests are visiting, but it was easy enough to find parking in the street.

I had the smaller room and it was all I needed, a bed, a desk and even an in room sink so I didn't have to go downstairs and wait to brush my teeth. A beautiful breakfast spread was provided by the Host each morning which was fantastic considering Leirvik is a tiny town with no shops. The acommodation was a great location to explore the Northern Islands as well. Very hospitable hosts and another lovely house pet. Only complaint was the pillow not having much volume or support but could be easily folded to fix this.

It was wonderful to stay with Lilja ! She is a great hostess, the house is wonderful, the breakfast is prepared with love , the bread ( homemade) is absolutely unforgettable. I am trying to find some excuse to come back there to have some more of Lilja’s bread.♥️ I chose to have two bases in Faroe Islands, one to the North( with Lilja) and another in Torshavn. So , Lilia’s house is very nice to the north, although not be far from Torshavn, if you choose to stay your entire period there. No words to my gratitude!😍😍😍
To leave! 🥲

We had a two night stay with Lilja over Easter. Lilja a lovely and welcoming host, super informative, knowledgeable and very engaging about the Faroe Islands. It was like being at home with family and a lovely cat. We stayed in the annex, which was the Deluxe Double Room with Shower Room. The room was quite large, with a separate bathroom that included a shower and a jazzuzi bath. The walk in shower had a waterfall and hand held attachment. The pressure was maybe a bit too high for the waterfall, so its best to watch the potential for overflow. Breakfast was generous, with coffee, juice, homemade bread, jams, cheese, meats, including a fish sausage. It was all delicious and there were different things to try each morning. We joined the Dinner Experience Tuesday (“Heimablídni”) with another guest. Dinner was a generous helping of fresh steamed cod with lemon sauce, potatoes and vegetables followed by rhubarb ice cream and coffee. The location is quiet and homely, nestled in a small community street in Leirvik with parking space out front. Its a great location to explore the Northern Faro Islands and only a short tunnel drive to Klaksvik. We highly recommend a stay with Lilja at visitHOMES Faroe Islands, who will treat you like part of the family.

visitHOMES is a wonderful home base for exploring Eysturoy (and the other islands if you aren't worried about the tunnel tolls!) Staying here is more like staying with a relative. We had great chats over a lovely breakfast, plus opportunities to get to know our host and more about Faroese culture. You really are being invited into Lilja's home rather than a hotel. The bathroom was shared, but that was never a problem for us. Our room had a beautiful view over the neighborhood and across the water.

Lilia, the hostess received us with open arms and a big heart in a most wonderful homely house in beautiful surroundings. Lilja prepared a great dinner. Perfect cod (I have the recipe!) directly from the sea served with local Faroes potatoes and vegetables. It was rounded off by a rhubarb cake. During the dinner we got to know a lot about the Faroes and we were joined by other tourist with whom we shared our impressions. The rooms were cosy, everything was super clean and tidy. The house cat added to the atmosphere running in and out to the little garden. The breakfast included fresh baked home made bread (also served with dinner) as well as a nice plate with tasty things. Would give Lilia 12 points out of 10 possible!
I didn't like to leave!

View from rhe bedroom and very tasty breakfasts with some local specialities and home made bread.
The shared bathroom was downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs which was far from ideal for an elderly lady. There were no chairs in the bedroom. Therefore, there was nowhere to sit except on the bed. There was a TV, but no kettle. Therefore, I had to ask for hot water for a hot water bottle or to drink or to make coffee. I asked and was given a dining room chair for the bedroom for my second night. I left after 2 nights. The nearest restaurant was a brisk 15 minute walk from the guest house. The heating was not working during my stay as being changed to green energy.
