The location is superb, view from the breakfast room over the beautiful village, mountains and bay and at 5 minutes walk from the natural harbour and puffins and start of a great hike with amazing views. The road to Gjogv is the most beautiful I've seen in more than beautiful Faroer. Nice breakfast with a lot of choice. Staff was nice but a bit impersonal. Big and clean room, simple but very spacious and comfortable.

I'm very happy I was there on a Wednesday for the cultural night. The food buffet was delicious with lots of variety (specially if you like meat and fish). I had very interesting conversations with the Faroese man and woman who guided us through some Faroese traditions. But my expectations may have been a bit unrealistic...I expected dances and songs by a group of local people but it was just the one man and woman leading us to a short version of the famous ring dance. Of course you can't expect a group being available every week in this remote small village...but I didn't think of this before😊. We had a lot of fun joining in anyway...

What a delight this place is - and the restaurant for meals we can't recommend highly enough!!! Gjogv is a stunning little town - worthy of an overnight stay (or two). We stayed in a separate building to the main one - just a short walk down the hill, with free parking right outside the door. - so quiet! The views from the dining room are fabulous - get a table in the window if you can. Breakfast was more than adequate, but the highlight for us was dining in the restaurant for our evening meals - the BEST food we've had in 2 months of travelling! Staff are super helpful and friendly - we felt like we were part of the family! We would definitely recommend to family and friends, and stay again!

The location was great as was the breakfast..beds & pillows were comfortable

The room was inadequate for a couple with luggage, staying for 2 days. No space to move around if we opened even one suitcase. No shelves / cupboard for clothes. Just hanging space for outdoor wear. No bedside table to keep specs, water etc . " table" was 15"x25" - Just adequate for the tray with kettle, coffee tea service. Everything had to be kept on a ledge near the window. Shower section did not have a shower curtain or bath mat. No bin for sanitary waste in the toilet.

Love this cute, welcoming hotel. The staff were wonderful! Our room was amazing! Comfortable and an incredible view! The food was good and Ása the manager was pleasant and extremely helpful. The only reason I gave it a 9 is that the shower only got lukewarm. It’s strange because the sink faucet was hot hot hot. It wasn’t just me, I asked my friend to try to make it hotter and no…. I’m sure they would have remedied this, but we just didn’t have the time to mention it. Thank you Faroe Islands for such a wonderful experience. ❤️

The guesthouse is located just a short 3" walk from the village center with a burbling stream, plenty of cute houses and beautiful scenery everywhere you look. If you have a car as I did, I also found it to be a good location from which to do daytrips to Saksun, Tjornuvik, Eidi, Funningur, Elduvik, Klaksvik, Kalsoy (addl time to take ferry and bus ride to Trollanes), all approx. 45 minute drives or less. I was there during the summer, so upon returning to Gjogv, there were still usually 3-4 good hours of light to explore Gjogv, its beautiful gorge and the Ambadalur Trail. Evenings strolling in the village were magical with the baaing and bleating of ewes and lambs echoing off the surrounding hillsides. My room was clean, comfortable and had a lovely view of the lush green valley. Food was great, no complaints at all. Breakfast comes with the room, but you need to pay (and make a reservation) for dinner (or a lunch box). Large parking lot right next to guesthouse. Service was warm and gracious!

The guesthouse location is gorgeous, in Gjorv. Our room, in the other building down the street had a great view of the town and the water. It was nice to sit outside the room at the communal table and chairs and enjoy it. The room was spacious and modern. The cable TV was great! It was an unexpected treat. Parking was easy. The restaurant meal was good, with salmon and lamb on the menu. Breakfast was a small, but tasty buffet with the best apple and pecan pastries!

There was no fridge in the room.

The place is fantastic, one of the most beautiful villages in the Faroe islands. The whole property is located in different houses in the village, not only the main guesthouse that is shown in the photos and where breakfast and dinner are served. No problem with that, since my room was very well located too, was clean and had a "modern touch". I used these two days as a base to explore Eysturoy and the North Islands (which are the best in my opinion).

I think they could have paid a bit more attention to the breakfast. Not that it was bad, the quality was good, but it was more "limited". They have a lot of guests, tourist buses coming all the time, a lot of meals to prepare (the dinner buffet was great, but of course you have to pay well for this), so it's kind-of expected that they don't care much about the breakfast. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Our room was lovely and had a beautiful view. The restaurant had a lovely view, too, and I was glad that they were still serving guests despite a national food shortage due to the strike. The village was all walkable, and we saw many species of birds, including puffins and eiderducks.

Be aware that luggage needs to be brought up a steep sidewalk to the standard rooms (but the rooms are nice). The food in the restaurant was a small buffet, and we understand that produce was not available due to the strike. Some of the meat was not very tender, but we were grateful to have a meal.

This was our second stay at the Guesthouse, last year & this under new ownership & we really enjoyed it both times. Despite a workers strike this May, breakfast, which is included, was always delicious. I say that because there have been shortages of foodstuffs throughout the country but they had fresh fruit, juices, eggs, & a variety of other items to choose from. I highly recommend the Guesthouse.

I can’t think of much I dislike except the towels & lack of shelf space in the bathroom & bedroom. None of these ruined our stay.

The most comfortable beds we slept on in the Faroe Islands - but we like soft beds. Nice to have some English TV channels as there is nothing to do in the evenings. Appreciated the hotel reaching out to us before our stay to ask us if we wanted to book dinner with them which we did. I'd advise you to do the same - the food was excellent, fairly priced and there is absolutely nowhere to get an evening meal in Gjov. The manager was so helpful and a very nice man. Breakfast was very nice - lots of choices and all lovely and fresh. Dining room staff were particularly helpful and pleasant.

Our room was very basic and utilitarian - no extra comfort or design. You could either sit on your single bed or a hard chair. I appreciate that there is probably a space issue but a guests lounge or bar would be a great addition. We were in the Annex - about 100m from the hotel - all the rooms are in a straight line so people walk past your little bedroom.
