We never stay in hotels with a rating below 8, and we stumbled upon this castle by chance, and it turned out to be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in! For comparison, the previous night we spent at Les Sources de Caudalie 5*, which is three times more expensive, but it lacks the charm, hospitality, and history that this castle offers! I find it very strange to read negative reviews about this hotel. Yes, the floors creak in some places, but the castle is 500 years old! This only adds to the charm of the stay! The restaurant deserves a Michelin star or more. The staff is so wonderful. The breakfasts… they are amazing here! Pastries, all kinds of eggs, fresh juices, yogurts, cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, and the barista makes a very tasty cappuccino. The castle itself is incredibly beautiful. I would love to come back here again

Wonderful location if you want a very peaceful few days. Idillic setting and wonderful dinner for that special occasion. We had a dog with us and they were very accommodating, albeit the animal charge was a bit pricey. Staff were welcoming and it was a very pleasant place to stay for a couple of days before heading back to the UK. About 2 3/4 hrs from Calais.

Historical setting and about peace and quiet

Dinner in front of the fire, in the castle environment, was unique and brilliant. Dog Spotty felt like the King of the Castle, with lots of smells from nature to experience. The chief-host is one of the sweetest persons we have ever met and knows everything about the area (being born there).

Very helpful staff, we were looked after so well. There was a slight glitch with the room, but we were offered a choice of other rooms. Very beautiful and enchanting place. Outstanding, refined dinner, just beware that the restaurant is closed on some days. Check before you book. Would be a shame to miss out on a very special meal which was an important part of the whole experience of this place.

We were.last at Chateau de Fere 20 years ago and it was great to.be back. Very relaxed atmosphere whilst being professional at.the same time. Lovely terrace views and restaurant. We also used the pool which has been added since our last visit. There is also a spa which we didn't use. The ruins in the grounds are enchanting. Great to be back.

Little touches were missing, eg had to ask for wine list and then find someone to order from... could be more attentive

Olivier the hotelmanager made our stay unforgettable by allowing us a romantic dinnertable on the outdoorterrace and a view at the ruine. Overall we had a very nice stay at this chateau.

It is situated in a picturesque setting with wonderful countryside views and adjacent to castle ruins. Our diner was absolutely fabulous!

The staff were very helpful when we wanted to change rooms. Lovely swimming pool, beautiful buildings and a great setting overlooking castle ruins.

Very pleasant experience, the the ruins of an ancient castle right in front of the window, nice park around to take a walk. The facilities are clean and comfortable.
