We had an amazing stay at The Sunset Shack. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Courteous and responsive staff. The restaurant on site offers an excellent breakfast and has a great food and cocktail menu, reasonably priced for Nosara. Pool is relaxing and quiet. Great location, close to the beach and everything else. Would stay here again.

My only very minor recommendation is to bring the pool cushions in when it rains. They dont dry well with the humidity and were often soaking wet even the next morning.

Amazing staff! Every single staff member from the restaurant, to reception, to the cleaning staff was friendly, helpful and genuine. Great location! Very short walk to beautiful beach. The included breakfast was good, you had a menu to choose from. I had a special diet, so they let me pick and choose.

The location is great, but is expensive for 3 stars. It was not a problem, but just know going in that there are not a lot of extras for comfort. For example, no hair drier, basic bedding, and really just a simple room. I was comfortable, but it felt over priced. Great air conditioning!

Breakfast is included in the room fee. It’s a good breakfast. Choose from the menu. Nice little salt water pool. Outdoor shower is useful. Good restaurant adjoining property. Close to beach. Realistically a 7 minute walk, not 3 as stated in other places. The hotel staff will book you nearly anything you can think of through a series of local hospitality and tourism connections.

Our mini fridge stopped working mid stay. We couldn’t cool the bathroom with the ac since the window was always open and unable to be fully closed. But overall we dealt with it fine. Some ants in the room needed to be dispatched daily.

Good location near the beach, pool located in the nice garden, a good selection of various types of breakfast, on site restaurant accesible through the day from breakfast till dinner. Room was ok, we appreciated basic kitchen equipment to prepare fruits for kids.

Nets in the windows had holes and need to be repaired. Weird system in the windows instead of glass allowed a lot of noice from outside. The palm above the building shall be maintained as leaves are banging into the roof during night winds and it is almost impossible to sleep. Quality and selection of sweet breakfast shall be improved - the granola was nor granola but a ton of sesame and french toast was burnt and not good at all - quality selection for kids like pancakes is missing especially for longer stay. Reception is almost not present all the time, but reachable via WhatsApp.

Sunset Shack was in a great location, close to the beach, short walk to the shops and more restaurants. The room was spacious, comfy beds and amazing shower. The hotel/bungalows are quiet and the Al Chile restaurant joined to the hotel is great. We were able to order and eat by the pool.

Nothing! Would recommend and definitely stay there again.

I didn’t like the fact that there was nobody in the office and we kept on having to run to the Harmony. When we were checking out one of your weight staff called over there and asked if someone could come over. No one showed up so we had to run back to harmony to check out. The lady came to Sunset shock which cost more time and also a pay cash for the balance and it’s not reflecting on a recent email invoice? I paid in full and they were actually a couple dollars left over..

The location was great - a map inside the room outlining shops, bars and maybe paths to places would be great. wanted to walk to Playa Pelada but only roads show up on waze or Google naps. Insider tips on jungle paths to take would be helpful. Front office check-in/out staff very friendly and process easy.

I thought the price was a little high. The road construction was challenging but realize that is not the fault of the hotel. Often times I would come to the bar for a beer or food - staff helpful but not always friendly - spent more time talking to each other and friends who would visit than refilling water or asking if you wanted anything else. One guy - Axel- was awesome!

The free breakfast was the best way to start the day. The room was very well-designed and outfitted. The kitchenette had everything we needed and more - mixing bowls! The pool and lounge area were very secluded, refreshing and clean. The surfboard storage was awesome as you can grab your board and walk to the beach in under 5 minutes. The staff were very quick to respond on whatsapp with help when needed.

The reception was only open until 4, or had gaps with being on-site throughout the stay. We wished there was more of a vibe with music in the restaurant and pool during the day. It was a bit too quiet. For the hefty price of the stay and is a sister hotel of the Harmony across the road there should be allowed access to their large pool or perks at their hotel. I would've even paid to have access to a beach chair at their pool.

Loved the location setting and decor. Staff very friendly and helpful. Perfect surf botique and enjoyed being associated with the Harmony Hotel as it increased the emenities but kept it very quaint.

The bed could have been bigger but was still very comfortable. There was limited hangers in the bathroom and storage for clothes.

Excellent location. Nice basic hotel offering great value. Nice rooms and pool.

Office is open for first part of the day, after that the restaurant staff is the point of contact.
