Our stay at this hotel was truly delightful. The German lady in the restaurant (I regret not remembering her name) was an excellent host, making us feel welcome and well cared for. The food was outstanding, and the rooms were both comfortable and beautifully designed. The hotel's style is elegant, and the tranquil surroundings add to the charm, creating a peaceful retreat. Breakfast exceeded expectations, offering a wide variety of options, including many healthy choices—perfect for those following a diet like mine. I especially appreciated the availability of whole grain, lactose-free, and sugar-free options. Overall, a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend!

The receptionists seemed unsure about local recommendations and not very informative—perhaps they were new or in training.

I stayed on the 12th floor, and the view was simply breathtaking—panoramic scenes of Bodø’s coastline that made every morning unforgettable. The highlight was the rooftop restaurant on the 17th floor. Breakfast was a highlight, with a delicious spread and plenty of options to choose from—perfect fuel for a day of exploring the Arctic beauty.

One small downside to note: parking can be a bit tricky, as the hotel doesn’t offer its own reserved spaces. Guests will need to use paid street parking or nearby paid lots, which may require some extra planning.

Loved hanging out in the living room area beside the fireplace watching the ships arrive in the Vestfjord. The staff is lovely, rooms are comfortable, and the beds are so amazing! (The U.S. should take a page from the Norwegian bed book). Breakfast was 10/10, if you leave hungry, that's on you. Perfect view from the large pane window.

My main reason for choosing this hotel was to dine at the Roast restaurant. I didn't pay attention to the hours of operation only to discover they were closed both days, Sunday and Monday, of my trip. Only wish the room had two chairs, instead of one, to enjoy the Northern Lights.

I checked in around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. Check in was fast due to small queue. I was given a room on the 14th floor right in front of the elevator. The windows were facing the sunrise east. The view looks sad. The hills looked barren with no grass and the clouds looked grey. Then things went wrong further when I tried to use the safe. When I keyed in a password, it started beeping non stop! I think it has a battery problem. There were no telephone in the room so I had to go down to tell the reception to fix the safe. However, she instead gave me another room on the same floor. This time I got room 1409. This time the room window was facing west. Much better as I could see snow capped mountains and the parked yatches at the harbour. I liked that the room has a TV with some decent channels. Was able to watch some performers on Eurovision but I turned it off because the performances were so weird. I liked the shower facilities. It came with towels, soap, hair dryer, waste bins, tissue box and a place to hang your towels. No bathtub but its ok. The room was carpeted which was nice on the feet. I didn't ask the room cleaning lady to clean my room but I did throw my trash in the trolley bin once every 2 days with my own trash bag. I also liked the elevator. It was fast to arrive. The breakfast spread was royalty standard. My favourite was the scrambled eggs, baked beans, baked potatoes, salad, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, smoked salmon, yogurt, apple juice and hot chocolate. It opens at 6.30am on weekdays but they actually open the doors 5 minutes earlier. Travelling around Bodø was easy as there are many electric scooters around like Tier and Ryde. Overall, I was initially contemplating to choose either Raddison Blu or Comfort Hotel but Scandic Havet is more peaceful with better views and breakfast. The location is also better. I also liked that the Grocery stores (REMA 1000 and EUROSPAR) are all nearby. The airport is walking distance.

The weather - I didn't like it when the weather was dark grey and rainy. The snow capped mountains disappeared. The temperature was 13 decrees C in mid May. Northern lights - Did not get to see it in mid May because the sky was not black. Sundays - All the major shopping malls are closed. Was not able to buy groceries. luckily, there was a small stall selling refreshments at the reception. The Seagulls - The seagulls liked to stare at me and looked hostile. I suspect they were eyeing my Tacos.

The views from the higher floors were incredible - whether you were looking towards the mountains or towards the water. Very comfy, spacious beds and overall the room was comfortable and a good size. Clean aesthetics and modern design. Easy access to everything (though Bodø is generally small and therefore easy to navigate).

I liked the breakfast but I did expect more variety in the freshly made goods (like cooked veggies) and pastries. They do cater to various diets though, and had fresh avocados, which was a welcome surprise.

The breakfast was excellent and beyond expectation. Every possible type of breakfast food was available in suitable quantities. The view from our room on the 15th floor was breathtaking. We spent a lot of time sitting in front of the window watching the city below and the bay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with parking and they took their time to explain to us how it worked in Bodo. We could also check in earlier than normally possible.

We had a problem with parking. It's not the hotel's fault in any way, but the parking garage nearby uses a 'ticketless' payment process that was very hard to figure out and to get working. The hotel staff did do their best to help us with it and it's not the hotel's responsibility, but for people staying here: it's useful to download the Apcoa Flow app beforehand and create an account so you can use the ticketless parking in Bodo parking garages.

Scandic Havet is an excellent choice for a stay in Bodø. Located right on the waterfront in the Bodø city center, the hotel is within a 5-minute walk to everything, Bodø Concert Hall, street shops, restaurants, ferries to the Lofoten Archipelago, and many other local attractions. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is exceptional with many options for hot, cooked food, fruit, and vegetables. Very happy with my stay here.

My absolute favourite chain! The room was gorgeous and with a great view of the port (and the snow). Breakfast was delicious and with a great variety of food. I love the free coffee from the reception area and the little convenience store. The location allowed me to walk anywhere in town and it's a few steps from the bus that goes to the airport. The restaurant on the 17th floor is really worth your money and the staff was so kind! Scandic truly never disappoints.

The breakfast was amazing! So many options and a lot of delicious seasonal specials for the holidays. Wonderful view of the city from my hotel room.

Hotel room was too hot, could not make the room cooler. Not sure if just due to hot air rising but had to keep window open during the winter to keep room comfortable.

Wonderful time in Scandic Havet! It's close to the main streets in Bodø, it's close to the airport, the reception is very well decorated, the room for the breakfast is very spacious, I got an spacious, quiet & clean room, and with wonderful view!! I'm gonna come back to Northern Norway in 2024, and I can assure that I'll spend more days in Bodø and I wanna repeat my wonderful experience in Scandic Havet hotel!
