The location of this beautiful old Inn was excellent. We stayed 6 nights and we walked to most of the theatres, shops and restaurants during our stay. The Inn is very old and beautiful and very well maintained (modern bathrooms, window air conditioners, and ceiling fans). It has the character and charm that you most want in a place like Stratford. There were plenty of beautiful outdoor spaces as well as a billiards room and a screen porch to spend your time when you weren't out and about the town. The innkeeper, Tim, and his calm and faithful sidekick house dog, Marlie, were always available and very helpful with suggestions (well, Tim had suggestions...Marlie just came for friendly pats to each and every guest). Tim even put a card table for us in the screen porch when he saw us playing cards the first night. Coffee and tea were plentiful every morning and available during the day on the second floor with cups and glasses there for guests' use. The individual rooms did not have a refrigerator but there was a community refrigerator on the second floor where guests could stock their own food and drinks. Guests should be aware that most of the rooms are on the second and third floors and there is no elevator available. There are two rooms that have twin beds and those rooms are on the third floor. (Those are the rooms we had as we were 4 sisters sharing.) For car parking, Tim generally allows one parking space per room. When we showed up with 3 vehicles, because we came to Stratford from 3 directions, he moved around his personal vehicles to make room for us to park in the lot for the 6 days we were there! There are plenty of great restaurants around the Inn within walking distance for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another thing Tim will tell you is that during peak Festival season, you almost always should make reservations for dinner and lots of the restaurants are not open on Mondays. We cannot recommend this property enough.

The location was really fantastic. It was a nice walk to the theatres and Main Street Stratford. The building has so much history and we loved all the historical artefacts. Our room was also really nice and cozy. And Marley was lovely! She made the trip memorable!

This is a minor qualm, but I wish there was a front desk where we could leave luggage. We drove there so we left luggage in the vehicle, but for people who are using the shuttle to Stratford, I'd say aim to be there closer to your check-in time so you can get your room and leave luggage in there. I also wish there was a washroom guests could use if they came early. The owner was very kind and let us use one of the washrooms in the rooms where guests had already checked out.

I had a lovely stay at Stone Maiden Inn! The house is full of charm and history, and my room was cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated. The location is excellent—just a short walk from downtown Stratford. It’s a peaceful, welcoming place that feels like a quiet retreat.

One thing to note is that there was no staff on-site during my stay, which wasn’t an issue for me. Everything was well-organized and instructions were clear, so I had no trouble settling in. I’d definitely stay here again!

Atmospheric old inn with guest book from long past in the entrance. Our room had expansive bathrooms and high ceilings. Several art pieces, large internal carved shutters, an apparently antique dresser with large mirror lots of lights and plenty of power plugs. While breakfast was not listed, indeed they had a fairly nice continental free breakfast.

Really it was very nice. The only thing lacking was Kleenex and when we mentioned it in passing they brought us a box right away.

We were greeted enthusiastically and made to feel very welcome and at home. It was an easy walk to the theatre. We enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee in the morning and the use of the fridge for a few items we brought with us.

I would've appreciated an extension cord to the night table so I could charge my phone. It was very difficult to get behind the chair to plug it in.

Beautiful historic property and centrally located within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and theatres. Comfortable beds, clean room, and charming.

The parking was a little difficult to maneuver. Some things were a little rough around the edges. The A/C window unit was clunky and old and quite noisy disrupting sleep.

i loved how kind the staff was, i missed check in so they wrote me a note with directions to my room. the place itself was super cute and homey. my room was adorable and they fit a lot of stuff into the small space so i was impressed

the only “complaint” i have is that i found some candy wrappers in my room but it’s not that big a deal.

Stone Maiden is absolutely beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and extremely well appointed. Bed was so comfy

Breakfast was adequate, but I do feel the jam provided should have been a better quality than cheap stuff. Coffee was good, and there was a good variety of teas.

Offering a simple yet delicious breakfast, the enthusiastic service from the staff made the entire stay more enjoyable. The location is good, just a ten-minute walk to the town center. I will choose this place again on my next visit to Stratford.

Breakfast was good but minimal. Lots of good coffee, available all the time. The rooms were very clean and well equipped with bedding and towels. The house is in a great location near the city. Staff very friendly and helpful.
