We enjoyed a lovely spa holiday at Castle Spa Wagenküll, located in a beautiful historic castle combined with a modern spa. The hotel was truly impressive – the rooms were spacious and tastefully matched the castle’s interior, creating a slightly historic yet comfortably elegant atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, with a generous and delicious selection.

A small downside was the pillows, which felt worn out and too small. We had booked the rooms six months in advance, as well as a table at the restaurant, requesting a quiet spot for our small group. Unfortunately, this wish was not fulfilled – we were seated at small tables near the service walkways, which did not make conversation very easy. Our room, located at the end of the corridor, seemed quiet at first, but in the early morning the cleaning activities in the spa and the sound of moving items carried into the room, disturbing the peace.

The Spa at Wagenküll was truly amazing and offered great relaxation with outdoor swimming pool. Staying in a castle is a great experience overall, I felt very comfy and the room was more than okay even though twin rooms don't have a wardrobe, only a rack. Room had a huge TV and speedy WIFI.

Starting from the room - no wardrobe in my room. Secondly, the water pressure in bathroom was sometimes a little weak. According to the reviews, the breakfast was supposed to have wide selection. In reality, it was pretty average. Also, I wish the hotel could offer some transportation options for those who do not have a car, it could attract more customers.

Stunning Art Nouveau architecture, pleasant scenery and close to Latvia. An interesting historical story. Spa combination very good. Variety of saunas, pools and well segmented that can feel private enough, especially.

You need to know how to use the time on the ground. If you want to enjoy the comfort of your room and the comfort of the spa, you must arrive very early, if you want to include a visit to the restaurant. I would say five o'clock at the latest. Otherwise, you end up with something to take off. In some places the faux-kitsch decorations seemed less tasteful with the clean lines of the architecture, the landscape of the place, but I guess the maintenance people have to indulge different tastes.

We had a very pleasant stay. The receptionist was incredibly polite and spoke excellent English, which made the check in process seamless. The rooms were nice and the spa area was exceptional, offering a range of facilities such as a steam room, a salt sauna, saunas set at 95 and 70 degrees, a jacuzzi and an outdoor swimming pool - which is amazing in winter! A thoughtful bonus was the availability of drinking water in the spa area. Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide variety of choices served in a beautifully decorated space featuring a perfect Christmas tree. Outside, the park area was magical, adorned with festive Christmas light decorations, including a Christmas carriage, planets, bunnies and more. Overall a fantastic experience - highly recommend!

We made a reservation for lux number. A magnificent castle with a rich interior, stunning rooms, mysterious and luxurious, left us in awe. The spa is truly extraordinary, offering a wide variety of saunas, incredibly comfortable, and thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. A superb breakfast with a rich selection and a delightful dinner featuring authentic, incredibly delicious dishes. We 100% recommend a visit and would gladly return ourselves!

We would appreciate more convenient faucets and a shower in the bathroom.

The magical garden and the castle itself was so beautiful! The breakfast was delicious. Oh, and the spa was bigger than we expected, it was very aesthetic and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay!

The only things that we felt was very much needed - some place to dry the towels and robes and some ventilation system. Because there was nowhere to dry them, the air in the room was very humid. And we couldn't open the windows, because of mosquitoes. Also it'd be great to put at least one closet to put our stuff. But these are minor issues.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Even though it was a bit off season, and there were still a few areas under construction in the yard, the overall experience was great. The highlight for me was the spa, which offered a fantastic variety of options, especially enjoyed the outdoor pool — it was just perfect! The breakfast was another standout, with a wide range of delicious choices.

Someone posted a review saying that this is the best SPA in the Baltics, and so far I agree! It has at least five different saunas and steam rooms, indoor and an outdoor swimming pools and even though there seem to be many guests staying at a time, it doesn't feel crowded at all. The SPA is very relaxing with dim lighting and ambient music. Great room, friendly staff, lovely surroundings, and there's also a restaurant if you're in the mood for some fine dining - not cheap, but worth it :) Breakfast was pretty standard in a good way. All in all, this place made me very happy! Side note: Slippers are provided by the hotel, but they're standard hotel slippers made of cloth, so they get soggy in the SPA. Next time we'll bring our own rubber slippers for extra comfort :)

- location can be also as a minus for this place. If you stay for many days you have to make a plan for visiting different places nearby. Then it is a nice place to come back from a small trip and have a nice time in SPA and restaurant :) - value, bit overpriced, but good food in restaurant fixed it :)

Restaurant - great food. Spacious room, comfortable bed, air conditioning. Spa and territory.

Decorations - just not according to my taste. I prefer more natural environment in such rural properties rather than blinking colourful decorations.
