the room just by the water and the view out over the ocean. Room always cleaned, while we were having breakfast. Good coffee at breakfast. Enough space by the washbasin in the bathroom.

Partly unprofessional staff. Receptionists with chewing gum and not looking up, when one enters the hotel. Taking orders with a toothpick in the mouth at the restaurant. Most items of the menu- or drinks card not available in the restaurant and at the bar. Almost no light in the bar (due apparently to electricity problems). Items didn't get replaced, when finished at the breakfast buffet. Quality of food at restaurant mostly bad (very taugh beef, very dry chicken).

The hotel is right on the water, in fact the waves crash underneath the hotel (there are rocks under the hotel part of the shore) and its incredible. The rooms are styled in Nautical theme.. our room had a private bath, large counter, dressing area, large bed, and a sitting area and balcony facing the ocean. We could see Goree Isand from our balcony. Its a must to visit Goree Island when visiting Dakar as Goree Island was one of the ports for slave trade and the island itself is a museum. The hotel has room service as well as a canteen that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast are very good. The signature restaurant (fancy) is next door. You must walk 30 meters outside to the left. It has the best view of the beach as well as the bathing beach, but you must pay for it.

The breakfast goes until 10:30 am but one day when i came to the breakfast 9:15 am they ran out of yogurt and I asked them for it, and they said "we ran out" so i went and complained at the front desk. And they gave us two yogurt but they don't put it out. Which is very strange. So unless you ask, they are giving them out. The fancy restaurant part of Lagoon 2 you cant take your own water, they told us to put it in our bag and zip it up. So bizarre! We ordered beer and we got beer (mixed the lemonade) so be specific when you order beer.

The sea view was fabulous for starters, the room size was great, the staff were very friendly & helpful. The bathroom could do with being updated but it was always clean & fresh towels & bedding daily. Having the Lagon 1 just a 2 minute walk was a treat too, great restaurant with fabulous food & private beach area. Would highly recommend Lagon 2 if you want to stay close to Dakar at all. And breakfast was even better once we discovered you could have fresh omlettes too!

No complaints, it was all great!

A cool place literally right on the water. Your room, particularly on the bottom floor, almost feels like you're on a boat! The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The view was unbeatable. The restaurant a short walk down the street was quite nice and also by the water (recommend reserving ahead of time). This is also a convenient location if you want to take a day trip to Goree as it's close to the port. AC was excellent. Wifi was pretty good. The private beach nearby is solid during the day.

If you're a sensitive sleeper, you might want to call ahead to get one of the rooms on the middle of the upper floor to minimize the noise of the waves. The shower was a bit dated and not quite up to standard with the rest of the room (some of the rooms are less renovated).

I like the submarine concept and style of the rooms. Some rooms are better than others since, renovations and upgrades are happening. The views are great and the ocean sounds soothing. But other than that staff is excellent, rooms are clean, and vibes are good.

They could pay more attention to some details in cleaning and repair. Like using bleach to get the grout and fridge cleaner. Also using a silicone sealer on some places to prevent leaking water in shower area. They need an elevator. Also I paid online with booking.com but when I got here they said that was just to hold it, so I had to do it here. But online I used my amex card and when I got here they said they don't take Amex :(. I don't have a different credit card.

I thought the hotel really good and the staff excellent. I appreciated the quiescence of the place and general sense of peace. Bed was comfy and the sundries used up were replaced next day. I particularly liked the complementary bottle of water. Breakfast portions were generous. Have a hotel on stilts over the bay was novel and the sounds of waves washing onto the rocks, particularly soothing.

The water pressure for the shower could be better. In general the air conditioning around the hotel, eg the restaurant and the lobby, was a touch too low. It could be a degree or two higher thus saving the hotel money, and the planet. I would have liked a menu at breakfast thus knowing what was on offer. The juices were a touch too sweet - less added sugar please. Fly covers for the buffet would be a help - like there was for the cheeses. More than one hot water flask please. The keycards for the room doors needed to be refreshed daily, there was something about them failing after the rooms were cleaned. Weird.

Nice spacious rooms, I believe all with balconies overlooking the ocean. They offer a very good breakfast (ocean-view dining room) with a decent selection of items including pastries, eggs, juice, cheeses, yogurt, tea/coffee, and fruit. Great wifi. The staff was always helpful when I needed to find a taxi (and negotiate a price). Ithink the Lagon Il is a good choice compared to some of the other "western" hotels in Dakar -- I also stayed 3 nights at the Novotel nearby, and I think I'd pick the Lagon Il as the better value. (I booked the Lagon Il through Booking.com, having tried unsuccessfully to book directly with the hotel.) (Note that Lagon Il is the hotel; Lagon I is a restaurant located next door.) The big "Casino" grocery store is just a few minutes' walk, if you need to pick up some snacks or toiletries. I should give a special shout-out to the terrific houskeeping staff -- I forgot an item in my room, and wasn't able to return to ask about it until almost 2 weeks later. Not only had they found it and saved it for me, they had made careful notes about where & when it was left. I appreciated their kindness so much. Jerejef to them!!

The view was nice this is why i purposely made this reservation. And the people were very nice too.

I didn’t find my bedroom clean enough to begin with.. there was an opened bottle of juice in the fridge. I actually didn’t mention it to the staff because i was very busy to wait for them to clean again. There were no soap in my bedroom for once but there were in the other room i had reserved for my parents.. i wish we were allowed to open the balcony again.

Honestly your breakfast exceeded my expectation. You are set up to capture niche customer populations, like self employed frequent flyers who need a comfortable place to sleep and have a busy 9 -5 during the day. Your room rate is affordable, food in your restaurant is good and values for money! I was coming from Terrou-Bi so the Ship fashioned hotel was not what I had in mind, we wanted a quiet day on our first day and got that from your hotel 100%!

Please change the bathtub into showers period. service the main door entrance to the rooms. the slide door into the bathroom is super brilliant. re-enforce the balcony, especially as they are right in the Atlantic ocean!

loved the waterfront view from my room and the dining areas. I also liked the “cruise suite” feel of the room. The jungle-like decor outside of the he room was also nice as well as the lighted stairs and lobby.

certain areas could use some minor updates (I.e the porthole in the bathroom needed some caulking/touch-up paint) but overall I as pleased with the property.
