An easy accessible Inn just off the hi-way perfect as an overnight stop between CPT and JHB/DBN. The lovely receptionist checked us in quickly and directed us to our room. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for the night. We opted to have dinner in the restaurant and although almost fully booked and seemingly short staffed the ladies were running around all over attending to everyone. The food was delicious!!

Plugs were an issue as you have to unplug the fridge to plug in the kettle.... Very thin walls - when the neighbours are awake - so are you!

We stayed over at Merino Inn for one night on our way to Knysna and we were pleasantly surprised by the property. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay en-route to the Western Cape. The property has a restaurant on site and while we did not have breakfast, we did enjoy some lovely steak for dinner, cooked to perfection. They have a pool on the property for the kids or anyone for that matter to unwind after a long day on the road. Ask for rooms in Block F - they looked much nicer and newer.

The main door to one of our rooms was in need of some minor repairs; its a dutch door and so the two halves did not close properly, leaving a "peep-hole" in between. There was no one at reception on check-out so unfortunately, we weren't able to mention it.

It was not just the fact that we had a very nice Aircon in the unit, or that the swimming pool was clean and well kept, or that the overall appearance of the Merino Inn was so well kept...it was the amazing and friendly staff at the Merino. Everyone - from the the reception staff to the bar/waiting staff - just simply exceptional. I must point out one person though - Stacey the waitress. That lady was SOO busy, but always had a smile on her face, and she was always friendly, while (literally) running between the different tables she attended. She really made our stay a little more enjoyable. I would recommend the Merino Inn to anyone and everyone. Keep up the exceptional service!!

I literally can not think of one thing we disliked about the Merino. (I mean - they even have Springbokkies for goodness sake!) Thank you again to all the staff at Merino Inn. I will definitely be staying here again (hopefully in the not too distant future)

The room was clean and comfortable, it came with an aircon and a nice big shower, which was great as we had been driving the whole day. The food at the restaurant was delicious! We tried the chicken burger, the steak/veg and the butter chicken curry, all 3 meals were very tasty!

My only real issue is that in the room, the cables for the appliances weren't long enough to reach the 2nd plug point. So you could either have the kettle plugged in, or the fridge. But not both at the same time. We were only there for one night so it wasn't a big deal for us, however if you are staying for a few nights, this would become tedious after some time

Beautiful place. We have stayed here before and booked again! Will chose to stay here again.

The restaurant experience wasn't good. We understand that it was busy so we were prepared to wait long. However the waiting staff were terrible. I had to stand and wait for them to finish their conversation with each other before they gave me menus. They were not friendly at all. The lady who served us also forgot to add something to our bill and very rudly came and knocked incessantly on our door to come get the money. Obviously we were happy to pay as we had the drinks. But her manner of knocking and rudly saying you must pay was not well received.

Stayed over on our way back from holiday and we had a very comfortable and great night stay over. The beds and bedding were very comfortable, the place was super clean. Bathroom had both a shower and bath which assisted with having our toddler with us. The restaurant is also very nice, good variety and good quality. The overall facilities which include a jungle gym and pool were also great. Would definitely recommend this as your go to for staying in Colesberg, we have stayed over many years at various places and this by far exceeds all other stays we have had.

The Inn is situated just outside town. We stayed overnight on our way to Knysna. The town was hosting a conference. We were so pleased with our booking out of town as although it was on the outskirts, we weren't affected by the conference or the highway noise. Most of the rooms open onto a large garden/pool area which was very pleasant. There is a restaurant based at the hotel "Chargo", just across the carpark is a 24hrs KFC. But we highly recommend eating at the "Chargo" Deli and Farm Stall. The filled Roosterkoek were a hit with the family and definitely better value than a quick KFC. Breakfast the next morning at the Farm Stall did not disappoint!

Conveniently located right off the main road. There is an exclusive entrance to the KFC and farmstall at the backend of the motel premises, which allows you to easily and directly get food without having to navigate to it from the front entrance. Rooms have everything you need for overnighting while travelling and are cosy. Wifi was fine, and we streamed HQ YouTube with no issues.

We didn't have hot water for showering. This was a fault, and of course not something deliberate, and we reported it when leaving. It would have been nice to perhaps get a small discount on the stay because of this, but I don't think you could expect that from many businesses nowadays. Although the motel premises is clean and well maintained, the nearby areas are questionable - beggars in the streets, people drinking and causing commotion at the truck stops/fuel stations at night, etc. That said, the motel itself is walled-off, well protected, and has guards. Once inside the premises you aren't exposed to any of this and don't even know its there. So this isn't a concern at all.

For a stop-over stay, the location is great so close to the National Road. The check-in was quick and efficient. The staff, helpful and friendly. The room was extremely clean, spacey and well laid out. Modern bathroom with a great shower. The pool was refreshing and the pool area allowed for relaxing. Dinner was great. Breakfast very tasty. Special mention to Waitron Stacey who was extremely helpful. The accommodation, restaurant, pool and grounds are all beautiful and well kept, and suggest that a longer stay is on the cards to allow for exploring the area.

After phoning to advise about late arrival Dieketseng Tsepo that I spoke to sent a copy of the dinner menu and advised that 15 minutes prior to arrival we could advise choice of meal to ensure food would be ready on arrival as the kitchen would be closing at 9pm however this wasn’t necessary as arrival was just after 8 pm. This is what I would say is going beyond the call of duty and deserves a gold star ⭐️ Thank you for caring Dieketseng!
