Quiet halfway stop. Far enough so you don’t hear highway traffic all night and still close enough that you can get back on the road again. Very comfortable, clean and neat. Our pet was welcomed too. Dinner was great. Annatjie is very friendly and helpful and even accommodated our anticipated arrival and departure time.

Nothing that I did not like.

Travelling from the Western Cape to Gauteng we decided to make an overnight stop at van Zylsvlei because it is not in the centre of town but in the farmlands. It is not on the N2 but the R717, north of Colesberg. It is a good road and you get a break from all the trucks travelling on the N2. We received a warm welcome when checking in and the lounge area is like home away from home. Having a restaurant on the property means you don't have to trek into Colesberg for a meal. The bungalows are comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to peruse through the museum on site. We enjoyed our overnight stay and will definitely book again.

Location is excellent for a trip between JHB and Cape Town (Western Cape). The friendliness of the owners and the dogs was just exceptional. Thank you.

The shower was a little tricky - to control the water and to ensure not to spill on the floor next to the bathtub. Water was hot though, and helped to relax after a long day's drive.

It was a last minute reservation on the night of the Fifa world cup finals. We had our doubts about whether this place would be safe however everything about it was beyond great. The hosts and some guests joined us to watch the match on our small mobile screen and we drank beers until the sun set. Then, we witnessed the most stunning blanket of stars right above us. I cannot describe how clear the stars and planets were. Since it is the Karoo, we expected insects but the room was spotless. I wish I could have stayed longer but I will return.

location somewhat out of town. However, with dinner available at the guest house. No need to travel back to town.

Comfortable and clean. Friendly hosts. Dinner and breakfast available. Food was very tasty.

No real complaints, but as a suggestion, another television in the second room of the rondavel would be more comfortable for the guests.

Excellent service. Helpful and friendly staff. Dinner and breakfast were superb and more than enough. Dinner - could choose from a small menu. Even dessert. Breakfast - set menu. Pet friendly - a bonus. Air-con in rooms. Even a bar. Do not have to travel to have an alcohol or non alcohol drink.

Lovely farm just outside the town. The rain was bad on the way, and that caused us to be later than what we said we would arrive. They called to make sure we were still safe and on the way.. Bed was super comfortable, and the room had everything we needed. Breakfast was absolutely delicious!

It was in the beautiful location. The amazing thing we experienced was the beautiful night sky…fortunately the sky was clear and we had show of millions of stars. It was just so beautiful. The room, facilities, everything was great.

Just that the food they serve can be improved.

This property is great value for money. The tranquility and fabulous hospitality make this a well worth the stay. Easy access from the freeway and a great mid way stop between Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Would love to see more resources to assist with the load shedding that is now a staple way of life in South Africa
