We had an incredible time and will definitely come back. The location a little bit off the grid and not too many guests was exactly what we wished for, for an intimate game reserve experience! All expectations were exceeded :) From the welcome, to the Manor, to the amazing food, the game drives, star gazing… everything was wonderful and moments we will cherish! We were a bit worried about the 27km gravel road. But in the end even our VW Polo had no problem at all. Just go slow and enjoy the ride, there are wild animals already on the way to the reserve (we saw a lot of giraffes, Kudu, Monkeys…). With some stops to watch the animals, it took us around 1h 15 min.

The pods are exceptional with amazing views and a great place to wind down and relax. Sitting by the fireplace and star gazing was swamping. Game drives were great with cheetah and lion sightings.
Arrived at 14:00 (checkin time) but was only transported to the pods at 16:30 so had to sit around and wait at manor house for other guest who arrived at 16:30. This limited our time at the pod as you are also fetched early on your check out day . Ideally you want to spend as much time at the pod when you arrive as your 2 game drives a day start early in the morning and end late at night so you only have time during the afternoon to chill at the pod if you only stay for two night. Food was enough and good but both evenings we had meat and the same vegatables- variety would have been nice. Would recommend you also take snacks with as you are 45 min away from the manor house and there is none in the pod.

We slept in the pod. The pod is a once in a lifetime experience, surrounded by silence with only the sound of the animals, with an incredible view, far Away from the civilized world. Mount camdeboo provides everything you need and expect from an all inclusive reserve. We would especially like to mention the welcome from Christel and of course the very personalized game drives from Collin that makes the experience unique. Thank you for making our experience so memorable.

It was luxurious in a fantastic setting. We saw loads of animals and had 2 game drives included. Food and drinks also included and were excellent. Definitely a trip highlight and worth splashing out on. No need to stay in the pod as the lodge itself was stunning. Very good service from staff.
Only feedback is the 27k gravel road drive took us over an hour as we did not want to cause damage to our vehicle. It would have been better if this was made clear on the arrival instructions and whether there was an option for a pick up from nearby town as we would have been willing to pay extra for this service. So just for guests to be made aware. Otherwise whole experience was wonderful.

We stayed in one of the pods which was an amazing experience. You were enveloped by the reserve and it was the perfect place to relax with little to do disturbance. We had two game drives a day and the ranger was very friendly and informative. And we were lucky to see most of the animals on the reserve including a small pride of lions. Meals are delivered directly to the pod and was well prepared and delicious. All in all this is a must do and if I get a chance I would definitely go back.

Our stay was a bit unusual. While we looked forward to our stay in the pod, an extreme turn off weather forced us to stay in the lodge facility instead. The lodge was beautiful and the manager and staff were very flexible in making the alternative arrangements work out for the best! Dinner (lamb shank) was everything I dreamed of!
Again the severe weather also caused the power to go out. The generator was only able to run for limited hours. So it was a bit chilly in the lodges, despite the lovely fireplaces. Perhaps an extra back up propane heater would have been in order. But again, it was basically out of management's control.

Very picturesque place, beautiful views of the sunset. Very private and away from everything which makes the experience with nature and safaris more spectacular. Excellent staff and service. The food is very South African and delicious. Very good wine cellar. The breakfast was very remarkable and complete. The safari climbing the mountains was remarkable. Regarding the ecological modules, I don't know if they are convenient because they have an electric fence that means you can't leave the place, so although you have incredible views you can't move, I don't find it pleasant.
I read on this page that the room in the main house had humidity and I didn't like it but in reality they are water stains from problems with some pipe in a very old house and they fixed them although there were not very aesthetic patches. The road to get there is complicated for a normal car, I would recommend a 4x4 for greater peace of mind. I honestly didn't like the guide Solivan very much, he seemed listless in his work.

We absolutely adored the authentic farmhouse feel of the Manor House! All the historic furniture, artifacts, interesting books & ornaments absorbed us for a whole morning! The gardens & surrounds are all maintained meticulously and we enjoyed walking around & appreciating how this beautiful, historic place has been preserved & kept relevant for future generations to experience. The staff went way & beyond to make us feel welcome & special, nothing was too much trouble! The food prepared by the kitchen staff was exceptional! Local favourite dishes presented in an imaginative delicious way! One day our lunch was served on the deck overlooking the stream. We so appreciated the extra trouble the staff went to to enhance our experience! The game drives also exceeded our expectations. We were happy to just take in the amazing vistas & rehabilitated fauna, but, we saw most of the antelope species & several viewings of lion! Soloman was a treat! His knowledge of the bush & history of the area was incredible! But best of all was his kwerky humour!

Beautiful home, far away from the world. Our group had the most amazing time. From game drives, to just relaxing by the pool in the silence. Colin and the team were great and lots of fun, the game drives were lovely and taylor made to our preferences. The Food was excellent.
I would personally like an undercover parking for the cars as they burn up in the Karoo sun during the stay. The dirt road to the property is very corrugated, making for a hard drive in normal vehicles. These aren’t complaints, just observations.

Mount Camdeboo really exceeded our expectations. We had a very pleasant stay with excellent food and very professional staff with a passion for what the do. Our game drives was very good and the Game Ranger Charl well knowledged not only of the animals but also of the veld. Justin is a very friendly manager and always visible. We stayed in the Courtyard and was privilege to have Nooi as our housekeeper, what a wonderful person. We will definitely be back!!!
