The breakfast was amazing and the area is central to the mall. Close to all other amenities in the area and convenient. The staff was always friendly and always on hand to assist me whether it was for breakfast or daily service for meals and drinks. You wont regret your stay here! You can even read about the rich history of the town, located on the walls in the main areas of the hotel. Thank you to Nomonde, Bongani, Ricky, Adri and all staff for making my stay memorable, enjoyable and fun! Look forward to visiting again soon!

Great location and off-street parking. The staff were all exceptional. A very friendly receptionist! She found out I was running a race in the morning and would miss breakfast, and promptly arranged for me to get a packed breakfast the next morning. When I left at 3am, my breakfast was ready! We had dinner in the restaurant and service was prompt and the food good. The manager explained the various memorabilia in the room and gave us interesting insights into the history of Ladysmith. Waiting staff were lovely, in particular to my daughters. This hotel is well kept and a real gem. Will be back!

The Hotel and staff are amazing and friendly. The food is excellent and the History of the building is absolutely fantastic. It’s so nice to stay at a hotel that’s been around for more than 140 years. And the feeling of the past and the way things were built and done back then. I will now stay at the Royal Everytime we go down and so will my staff. Exceptional service

Perfect establishment, close to town 👌. Check In was 100% I forgot the name of the lady that was working on the 25th she gave us a warm welcome 🙏 with a little Christmas gift I give her 10/10 and the security guy facilities are as perfect 🥰 we really enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this place 👌

Kindly fix the bathroom door it makes a little bad sound, that makes it hard to open and close. Lastly please put visible signs for swimming pool we couldn't find it my wife wanted to take some pictures but we ended up on a dead end.

The parking was spacious and secured we did not have to worry about our car,. The service was amazing and would indeed get back to the hotel again. Even though it was for 1 night it was amazing and we are grateful for the warm and beautiful hospitality.

Good place, clean. A little old and kinda spooky when the hotel has low occupance. I think the hotel could do with an upgrade/modernisation inside the rooms without compromising the historically significant architecture Nomondo was very pleasant at reception. sorry, it is a bit of the topic a pretty highly pregnant stray cat without tail and wound on the lost tail, I felt so sorry for her, and wished I could take her back to Johannesburg, looking for food in the parking, I wish someone could give her a home and spade her after the birth of the kittens

Breakfast was excellent, very nice ,nutritious , served in a very clean and guests friendly space. The waiter ,was very friendly ,respectful and treated all his guests alike . Welcome from the receptionist was excellent.

Very good quality breakfast with i wide selection of foods on offer. Supper menu is good and kitchen staff are very accommodating to special requests. Restaurant area is full of the history of the period in which the hotel was built and a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
