Fantastic location, close to the metro station, the beach and not too far away from Barcelona city center.

The reception isn't open 24/7, which is understandable, however it would have been quite convenient to have. The doors of the rooms get locked even without using a key, therefore it is very easy to lock yourself out of the room. I locked myself out of my room at night on accident and had to sleep in the hall for over 5 hours before I could get in. Not the hostel's fault necessarily, however it could have been averted if only the hostel had doorknobs which wouldn't lock themselves or if they had a 24/7 reception. Either way this was obviously my mistake and it is only a minor detail.

We really loved badalona. It is near a nice beach, serviced by both the train and metro. Loved the shopping and vibe of badalona. Whilst it is handy to be centre city sometimes we enjoyed getting out of the rat race and finishing our day in this lovely beach town. Hotel was pretty basic but our room (401)had a huge private deck although all rooms are different. The room was quite a good size and serviced everyday, although towels weren't changed daily but that ok. There is a lovely communal garden out the back and a communal room with microwave, table, tv, chairs.

No kettle or fridge but we used the microwave in the communal room to heat water for a cuppa. Aircon wasn't very good, fan worked but not the cooling part. Shower head holder was broken, should be an easy fix so maybe they will do that. Despite the cons we eould definitely come back.

It was well placed in Badalona — easy to get to the public transport and to the beach. The staff was fabulous — welcoming and helpful. AC worked well and the water was hot.

The space was small and a bit rough. The picture on booking seem to be from the more renovated part of the building, while my room was in the older section. Not sure if it was just luck of the draw, but the room was a bit more rough around the edges than the pics would have you believe.

Room was lovely and had a nice view. Bed was BEAUTIFUL! Location was excellent and nearby streets signposted directions to the place, which was really helpful. The receptionist Alexandra was lovely! She gave the warmest welcome and went out of her way to help me order a taxi when it was impossible to get one online - this warmth and kindness would make me stay here again next year!

The only issue would be the size of the bathroom: the whole room was soaked when I showered because it was so small! Lots of flies also got into the bathroom after I opened the window so perhaps some netting outside the window could have been good.

The location was perfect - close to the beach, train and metro stations. Room was basic, but clean and comfortable. I liked the bathroom with window, and there was plenty of hot water. It's good choice if you need just a place to sleep

I was lucky to have decent neighbours, just one night I was disturbed some continuous noise - maybe my neighbours were packing or something like that. However, the walls are quite thin.

Staff were friendly, room clean, location was great. Yes, there’s some noise as other reviews suggest as it’s a hostel but it didn’t affect our sleep staff were really accommodating whenever I asked anything

The lack of kitchen, there’s a microwave and the staff can store stuff in a fridge but you have to keep asking them to get fridge stuff. And the garden has a few too many mosquitoes for us

Situated 4 train stops to the centre of Barcelona the town was really good and. had plenty of shops, cafes and places to eat. This was my 1st hostal experience. The staff were friendly, the room and bathroom very clean, beds made and wipe round of bathroom every day. Couldn't fault it for cleanliness.

No where to make a hot drink, there was a vending machine but not for tea, Even a kettle in the communal area would be better than nothing

Walls are paper thin, you can hear literally everything from neighbouring rooms. Superior room photos seemed like they have a nice terrace, but you get this tiny balcony that can barely fit two.

The location of Hostal Solimar is excellent: close to the beach, well connected by public transport, near restaurants, and the terrace offered a beautiful view.

There was no comfortable furniture on the beautiful terrace.

We liked most the view

The bed covers and the pillows were not convenient, not user friendly, they need to be replaced with fresh, better quality bedsheets, bedcovers and pillows. There was no coffee or tea pot in the room, so we could not make our morning coffee, which was a big minus.
