The hotel is situated central to the shops and restaurants and close to he beach. Pol and his family were very friendly and helpful. If I have to come to Calella again, I would definitely stay with them again. Maybe to note when choosing a room, rather opt for the pool view instead of the street view ones if you are a bit sensitive to noise ( noise from the people walking in the streets). Even so, don't let this deter you from booking this hotel as you will be missing out on meeting great people.

The property is situated in the heart of Calella and is in walking distance to the beach and all cafes and restaurants. The atmosphere also felt very nice, due to a friendly and well-mannered staff and the fact that the facilities were never too crowded. The cleaning of the room every day was also something that made our stay very enjoyable.

Some minor things could be improved, such as having a toilet brush in the toilet or having a freezer in the fridge. Other than that, we would have liked to have our friends over for a visit, but we were told that it was not allowed. I understand that this is part of the policy for the property, and it was definitely not a deal breaker for us, but it would have been nice to know this beforehand. This thing was not mentioned on Booking and I think it should go under the Policies section for this property on Booking.

We had a street view room I would strongly advise a pool view room as we found it noisy at times especially Friday and Saturday . The Spanish are lovely but they have two volumes ..loud and louder. Quite a lot of noise outside from 7am onwards when shops opening . Room wasn’t soundproofed but noticed the window was broken so thst might not of helped. Will definitely stay again but pay the extra for a pool view

A great family run hotel, perfect position in the lovely town. The owners are excellent, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel so welcome as soon as we arrived, lots of chats and suggestions for places to eat, sights to see. The room, city view, was great, everything you need. Extremely clean and well cared for. People return here year after year and I can see why. We will be doing the same! Thank you Pop and Isabel x

What a great little hotel. Run by a very friendly, welcoming, kind and accommodating team. Everybody smiled and said hello. Kept spotlessly clean. Air conditioned room with balcony view of the beautifully decorated (and equally spotless) pool/courtyard area. Location is central to everything you need and a stones throw away from the beaches. Everything is reachable on foot. The courtyard/pool area was so quiet and peaceful its very deceptive, given its good location in the town. Beautiful cove beaches a short walk away, much more peaceful than the 'tourist' beach on the main strip (a great recommendation by the owner) Did not want to leave. We will definitely be staying here again if we come back to Calella.

Hotel Mediterrani Express we recommend it for a holiday by 💯 percent!!! The hotel staff helped us feel at home, they were always very friendly, they were always happy to help with any question. The location of the hotel is gorgeous. The hotel exceeded all expectations, and we will definitely come back here next time. We recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Calella Spain!

Pol and his family are excellent hosts, so attentive and friendly you feel welcomed right from the start, smooth check-in process and excellent location. Room was a great size and was very clean with housekeeping each day. Pool area was beautiful and so clean, gets great sun for the whole day and pool is very big.

The beds were quite hard but I have thought that about pretty much every bed in Spain, we asked for an extra pillow each which was sorted immediately so no real complaints at all!

Amazing little find and lucky to have stayed! Family owned property who were very kind and caring. Location is perfect 5 min walk to the beach, Aldi and other smaller shops all less than 10 mins walk with local restaurants and souvenir shops on both sides. For the price I was impressed with everyday cleaning, mini fridge, balcony, and air con included with a beautiful private large and mini pool. Pol and family create a wonderful service and though their kindness, it has been a pleasure to meet them.

A hidden gem in a perfect location of Calella. Absolutely loved the family feel of this hotel. The hosts made us feel very welcome. Spotlessly clean with a fantastic pool area which has the sun most of the day. The location couldn’t be better close to beach and the bars and restaurants but it’s not disturbed by much noise even with our room overlooking the street. For the price you can’t go wrong. This is a lovely quiet boutique hotel in the centre of Calella. It’s a little gem no doubt, and perfect if its a quite relaxing holiday that you want and need . As previous reviewers have stated, the pool area is beautiful. And the hotel is spotless, with the owner Paul, his wife and family in attendance in a wonderful caring, but none intrusive manner towards their guests. The AC was a must as weather was so hot, that was a definite necessity and we were delighted that we had it.

It’s not fair to say that I didn’t like anything as the hotel was absolutely lovely and as advertised. It’s only a personal choice, but I prefer a hotel with a lounge area , choice of food and later bar openings.
