I arriver on foot because I’m a pilgrim on Santiago way. The man at the reception in the evening was quite unplaisant, he continue doing is texting on his phone while I was asking questions, probably he didn’t like pilgrims. The rest of the staff was fine, professional and helpful as expected in a 4 stars hotel. Food at the restaurant was amazing. The building is a fantastically perserved convent from medieval times.
The man at the reception in the evening, too rude.

How they repurposed the monetary for accommodations Background music on entering premises
Walking in with a backpack met with less than acceptable meeting with staff member who appeared to hate his job and me, a disshelved backpacker doing the Camino. Higher end hotel in this area but I had reservations. My Spanish was not good as I tried to communicate but this fellow was not helpful at all. Stuck up The remainder of staff were wonderful

I loved the beauty and history of the place. The bedroom had the most stunning trees and view outside the window. It was very relaxed, comfortable and an absolute pleasure to stay in such a stunning historic monastery. I would definitely stay again without a doubt.
It was way too hot. The heating was very high and I couldn't turn it down (although I didnt ask for help. I'm sure someone would have sorted it if I'd actually asked). And, the breakfast seemed quite expensive for what it is. However, these aren't big negatives as I would 100% stay again.

Lovely and impressive restoration of a historic monastery. Really well done and authentic. Wonderful to see the old cloisters and the way the hotel has so tastefully and sensitively used the property for tourist use. A wonderful and meaningful stop for anyone walking the Camino Frances.
Some of the staff were not as friendly as one would expect, especially given the importance of Camino tourists to the hotel and town. We were told the dining room was full the evening we were there, but we found out later that people were being given tables as they arrived without reservations. We made do with tapas and sandwiches in the bar.

This converted monastery is in a quiet historic town that is easy to walk around. The hotel was clean and the food excellent. I thoroughly recommend the "day old" lamb for two. Breakfast was adequate with a cooked and cold choice of meats, cheese, fresh fruit, pasteries and cereal.
The staff varied from delightful, helpful and well-mannered to a few staff that were surly, brusque and some might even say rude. Phoning the hotel can be challenge when in the late evening you might not even get an answer after the phone ringing out for more than 3 minutes. My wife and I got the impression that the hotel lacked leadership and quality management with front line staff doing their best most of the time but demoralised at other times.

It's a beautiful place and very comfortable. We ate in the full ding room, which was a wonderful fine-dinig experience.
When I stepped out of my room (205), the motion censored light was NOT triggered, so I had to get out my phone and turn on the flashlight to lock my door. Then, when I walked past room 293, the hall lights would turn off. I talked to 2 people at the front desk, and they both eventually said they'd check it. BUT, if they came from the elevator, the lights would already be triggered. You had to walk out of the room into the pitch dark to understand the problem.

An amazing hotel. I couldn't believe the beauty and exceptional history of the place, and then to have a great restaurant along with great staff, just made it the perfect stay. We were a couple of hairy bikers only there for one night on a road trip, but it was the icing on the cake for a wonderful first day. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough, especially when you add on top what outstanding value it is. I only hope they don't check what we paid and find a clerical error that means we owe them 3 times as much.
I honestly couldn't think of something I didn't like about the place.

Good location for stop over to Santander. Room a good size and walk in shower for disabled wife.comfortable beds and room had sofa bed too. Accessibility was good via bar and lifts. Car parking free outside hotel.
The restaurant is not fully accessible if in a wheel chair. Have to manage two lots of 3 steps. The restaurant was ok but lacked a massive choice of dishes and to honest was on the expensive side for what was on offer. There were two small scallops in a bed of asparagus soup for one starter and sadly they were over cooked. The lamb for 2 was tasty but quite overdone and very crispy. At 56 euro for two it was expensive as came with no potatoes but just salad. We order potato’s extra thank goodness. So the hotel itself was good but not sure l would eat in their restaurant on a night again. There is a snack food option in the bar and l would try that next time.

Such a beautiful building with lots of history…. Incredible to be able to spend the night!
Honestly, it was the staff…. I checked in on Sunday and asked if it was possible to have a late lunch. They looked at me incredulously and said “you should have booked months ago for a Sunday.” So I had a light lunch somewhere else but booked myself in for an early dinner there… and once in their restaurant, they clearly didn’t want to deal with a pilgrim who didn’t speak perfect Spanish. In general, they didn’t seem to enjoy having pilgrims and wanted other guests instead. Shame.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Church and Hotel are beautiful. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal in the restaurant.
We had a gentleman in the next room who played his television very loud. The reception staff did all they could to ask him to be quiet, but he would not open his door, and eventually at 11.45pm the night watchman was successful in getting him to switch the television off. He also offered us an alternative room to sleep in. I was impressed by the staff and asked for the Hotel Manger to phone me to ensure they knew how grateful we were to the staff and to suggest that a note be put in each room asking guests to respect other residents and refrain from noise after a set time. The most disappointing thing is that the Hotel Manager, Mariangeles, did not contacted on the number I left.
