The location was very central but quiet. We loved the main courtyard where we had breakfast, it was cool and green. Much needed in the searing heat of Cordoba. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel was quietly classy and very comfortable with little courtyards to sit in. The roof terrace had amazing views of the city but too hot to sit there. Good air conditioning in our room which was the smallest in the hotel but very comfortable.

Breakfast was disappointing,we felt there wasn't a lot of choice. On our first morning, there wasn't much food left, the meats were dried up, the cheese was sweaty and the bread on the sandwiches was dry. The kitchen staff were chatting loudly all through the breakfast and weren't attentive. The second morning was better, different staff.

The room was very nice and charming, though it looked more comfy in photos. It was a nice surprise that it was ready way before the check in time. There was mold in the shower but we let the staff know about it and they said they will take measures. Also, they were very nice and removed some drinks that we had at the hotel bar from our bill as a sign of apology, which we appreciated. So the staff was also very nice, welcoming and friendly. The garden of the hotel is simply gorgeous and you can have a drink or breakfast there - plenty of people passing by on the street stopped to take photos, this is how beautiful it was. The rooftop offers a very nice view over the city centre. And the location is amazing, right in the heart of Cordoba, close to all the good restaurants and everything worth visiting and right next to the cathedral. Overall we were happy with the choice.

I would definitely stay here again. The location is hard to beat and offers centrality to all the places you should want to visit while also providing an interesting and authentic building (former convent) in a quiet tiny street. On the same block is a very interesting leather shop and maker’s space that is well worth a visit. And just around the corner is the mosque / cathedral. The little street is too small for cars to enter comfortably, but all the local cab drivers are familiar with this hotel and can drop you or pick you up right at the entrance to the street. The hotel is small, which reduces the likelihood of noise. Our room was a decent size with space to unfold our luggage within the armoir. Some rooms look down to the courtyard, which provides a nice buffer from street noise. Unfortunately, the safe in the armoir was too small for our laptop, which is the main thing we wanted to leave there, but most of the room features were useful: there were slippers, a hairdryer, etc. The tv had some of my favorite international news channels such as BBC and I believe Al Jazeera. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast is quite nice: there is a small buffet and you can order egg dishes to your liking as well as a few other options. The first floor breakfast dining space is small but feels open and airy due to a glass wall that opens out into the courtyard area. One of the most important features to me in a hotel room is the bathroom door and shower door as well as the overall design of the bathroom. The bathroom was good in terms of size and it had a real door (not a frosted glass or sliding barn door as so many hotels do today). A real door leading to the bathroom is important for privacy. The bathroom products were also good, and there was a lovely scent of what I believe are the bitter oranges one finds all of this part of Spain. The hotel deserves very high praise for its friendly and helpful staff.

The shower, unfortiunately, is like many in European hotels and only has a half glass panel. This means much of the water from your shower spills all over the bathroom floor and makes a mess. The water temperature of the shower also shifted from too cold to boiling hot very easily making it somewhat uncomfortable, but the water pressure was good.

Beautiful hotel with just 10 rooms in a perfect location, right in the centre of town but on a small, quiet side street. The patio courtyard is charming and the reception staff - Javier in particular - were incredibly kind and helpful. Wonderful view from the rooftop as well.

Breakfast was disappointing. The service was not attentive and the waiter did not refill things, even though he had little else to do. Overall, it wasn’t reflective of the high standard of everything else in the hotel.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, but the main asset is the staff, who are outstanding. Very hospitable to take time to check in, with a cold drink. Wonderful location, 2 mins walk from the Mezquita, yet completely silent. We took the night tour, fantastic to just fall back in the hotel at midnight. It also meant that we were able to 'pop back' at 8.30am to take photos.

It was all lovely. We were never on time to have the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast, the other orange juice is not good.

From entering the gates into a magical and almost secret little courtyard, Balcon de Cordoba was everything we had hoped for. Absolutely charming and the location is unbeatable - 30 seconds from the mesquita which meant at night and early morning we could enjoy the historic centre without the crowds. The orange tree in the courtyard was just coming into bloom and although we did not eat at the hotel, the food did look lovely. Charming staff on the front desk and the hotel was immaculately clean. Had a lovely hour up on the roof terrace which is small but has stunning views.

Not a deal breaker, and we would stay here again, but I wish we had known that our room was 'folded' inside the hotel and had no outside windows. We did have windows - one onto a stairwell and one onto a corridor with a bench where people could (and did!) sit. All rather strange and although a charming room (a suite I think) do perhaps ask about this. It would have been good to have been fore-warned as I would have chosen a different room.

The hotel is beautiful. We stayed in the Maryam suite (with deep tub) and it was lovely and spacious. The full breakfast was perfect. The staff were outstanding!

Note: I arrived by a rental car and found the arrival process and parking situation to be quite confusing and frustrating. Keep in mind as I am a foreigner who is being bombarded at every turn with new information, new surroundings and in a different language, in a place I’ve never been. It’s not as simple as it seems. Be patient with others and yourself!

Decor is beautiful. Feel like you're in a very special place. Welcome was warm with complimentary drink and they took our bags to the room which was a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious. Lots of choice. Loved the poached eggs and tomatoes. Terrace is real treat with great views across to the cathedral. Despite booking a standard we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and bathroom. Toiletries were lovely nice touch with fruit and carnation on arrival. Unbelievably central which was great for all the attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

It rained whilst we were there so we could have done with another comfy chair in the bedroom so we could both relax without one of us having to sit on the bed (although not sure it would have fitted!). There are communal spaces to sit but they're either on in the restaurant, in the courtyard or terrace (both open to elements) or in the foyer opposite the reception.

Everything. The hotel is beautiful and has a really rich history. But what stands out even more than that is the staff. They are all SO LOVELY. Alexander was so bright and friendly and explained the history of the hotel so well during our arrival tour. There are so many lovely areas of the hotel to sit and enjoy. You MUST take the tour to see them. And they were so accomodating with us. We’re early risers and arrived at the hotel at 8.30am. The room was ready and they let us have access early. We also left early the next day and they set up the buffet breakfast one hour early to accommodate us. The location is also excellent - literally at the door of the Mosque-Cathedral. We also ate at the terrace for dinner. WOW - so good. Best meal of the trip and the views were so exceptional of the bell tower and mosque-cathedral. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending this. An absolute 10/10.

Nothing.

From our arrival to departure we were treated with kindness from all the staff . The hotel is so beautifully designed and comfortable. We were given a restaurant recommendation for dinner which was outstanding . Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful and polite. I would love to stay here again. So close to the main attractions of Cordoba. A real treat .
