Very cool hotel, built in old quadrangle style, perched atop a hill overlooking a massive water reservoir. Very picturesque looking out onto lake and hills covered with olive trees. Staff was super lovely. Great location for us for day trips to Granada, Cordoba, and some of the white villages.

Pool was full of dead wasps and not cleaned while we were there. Made swimming feel quite perilous. Restaurant staff was great but food was very mediocre. Breakfast was also mediocre - they need better bread. Too bad the hotel is so close to the community pool and track - lots of noise coming from both and track spoils the views somewhat.

The hotel is not actually in Iznajar but on the other side of the reservoir which, though theoretically the largest in Andalucia, was operating at only 15% capacity. The views both towards it and from it were therefore not quite what one might have expected. But the hotel itself was very attractive with a roomy and well-appointed dining room and comfortable first floor bedrooms with good bathrooms. The staff was clearly kept very busy but, despite that, were friendly and efficient. Bar and supper were all that they should have been and the town of Iznajar was well worth the morning spent there. We made no use of the pool but it looked decorative and well-maintained!

The room had a beautiful view overlooking the pool and the mountain-top village of Iznajar. The staff were efficient and friendly. And the outside evening dining--cooked on the barbecue grill--was wonderful with excellent views of the countryside. There was also comfortable seating and tables nearby to enjoy the views before and after dinner.

Breakfast was fine, but it could have been better by having some hot food, like fired eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. The bread was very basic, white, non-nutritional, although there was also sliced dark bread, and a toaster was available. No pastry!

Our room was very clean, breakfast was simple but very good and we were able to get something to eat although we arrived after the restaurant closed.

We were misled about dining arrangements on our second night (my husband's birthday). Although we reserved a table, we weren't told that the restaurant was closed that evening. We were told that we could only eat outside when we came down to dinner: the weather was cool, as was our welcome on the chilly terrace. We were served by an unhelpful member of staff and discovered that the menu was more expensive and less extensive than it was when we arrived the previous day. This was particularly annoying when we had been sent the menu electronically. Dinner was very disappointing. My fish was undercooked, so I asked the staff member if it could be cooked more. When it was returned, I still couldn't separate the flesh from the skin. Inedible.

Fantastic location - overlooking the lake. The hotel rooms were large, we had double aspect windows, very comfortable and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and answered all our needs. It was very quiet when we stayed but the layout is large enough to accommodate many guests, in its lovely grounds with plenty of loungers, tables and chairs. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, relaxing by the pool.

nothing - probably some of the sun parasols are a little old and the garden was not immaculate - but everything functioned and added to the charm - and this was one of the cheapest hotels we stayed in on our 3 week trip around Spain, but also one of the best.

What a stunning traditional hotel. I was hoping to find a little gem. We loved our corner room with views from both windows . The dinning room was lovely, more so when laid out for special events . The food very nice and .staff very welcoming nothing to much trouble. The terrace had wonderful views . This was the best hotel in our 7 week tour around Spain, we stayed for a week . Yes maybe a little tired around the edges, all added to the charm . We hope to revisit if that far south again.

To be honest nothing we wanted rural Spain

The location of the hotel is perfect - close to the lake/local bars and within walking distance of Iznajar. The staff are very friendly, the pool is an added bonus. Great stay - would recommend.

The breakfast choice was limited, only a selection of cold meats, toast. Would have benefitted from a hot buffet, but guess that’s a personal choice. It is included in the price of the room - so that’s v reasonable.

A lovely location, great outdoors pool with loungers, staff were really helpful and warm and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We chose to have an evening meal at the hotel and this was fabulous.

The hotel seemed understaffed. There were lengthy waits at breakfast for simple things like coffee. Not due to lack of willingness or helpfulness but simply too few people with too many roles. Breakfast was very basic but plentiful.

We loved the traditional Spanish feeling of Caserío de Iznájar,,, the restaurants (indoors for breakfast) & on the terrace (for lunch & dinner) were beautiful, breakfast was delicious as was our evening meal. The staff were super friendly, helpful & hardworking.

The Aircon was old & wasn't working very well & at 42° in the daytime this caused a problem at night. The only other problem was not being able to get any drinks when the bars/restaurants were closed.
