Our room was a very good size with comfortable beds and a nice seating area in the window. The bathroom was clean and well fitted out. We much appreciated being able to eat from the bar menu whenever the bar was open and not being limited to the restaurant hours. The entrance lounge and bar area was very pleasant. We had a problem with our toilet not flushing but it was looked at and rectified within an hour.

This hotel is set on quite a steep hillside and the free parking is quite a hike up to the entrance. Parking by the entrance is available but you have to pay. The grounds may well be extensive but are not easily accessible except by steep paths. The pool and sports areas are at the bottom of the hill by the free car park.

The location and the room were spectacular. We didn't want to leave. The view from our balcony was so peaceful. The bar and courtyard were wonderful to enjoy food or a drink in a relaxing and beautiful setting. The food was very very good. Maria S on the front desk gave exceptional service, she was welcoming and gave us brilliant recommendations, taking the time to really make sure we would enjoy our stay. Alessia at the bar was also superb, she was friendly and professional and gave exceptional service. The picatostes and the anchoas were out of this world. The mollete was also very very good. Limpias is a small but beautiful and very welcoming place, and a perfect location to explore this wonderful part of Cantabria. We had gorgeous walks down the river and ate at a local bar which Maria recommended - it was fantastic (La Tienduca) - don't miss it!

Because there was no carpet in the rooms, you can hear footsteps from other rooms quite loudly.

On this trip we stayed in four paradors and this was the best. The room was huge with beautiful furniture and the most comfy bed. The public areas and lounges are most attractive, the food is excellent and the staff very attentive. We were allocated the same room as on a previous visit, and do ask for a room overlooking the garden rather than the car park. Parking is plentiful, though a short walk away.

Limpias itself is a very pretty village, though small. There is not much to see or do around the hotel.

Very nice location in the attractive small village of Limpias. Close to the coast, so good for day trips. Nicely refurbished and maintained rooms. Very good breakfast.

Several staff were quite perfunctory. The young woman who checked us in provided very little information and displayed low customer focus. She also handled our check out two days later and exhibited the same behaviour then: took our room key, checked the computer and said “you can go”. Nothing more than that. No interest in whether we enjoyed our stay or any other aspects of customer service.

We loved the grandeur of this place, impressive from without and within. Our room was spacious, comfortable, luxurious and scrupulously clean. The staff were welcoming and efficient Language wasn’t a problem as many staff spoke English and also there were menus in English. The food was of an excellent standard. Outside there was an attractive garden to enjoy as well as woodland walks.

If there had been tea/coffee making facilities in the room this place would have been perfect.

A very large and superbly decorated bedroom, the bed and chairs were comfortable. The room was well lit. Breakfast was a real treat. Dinner was good. It met the usual high standards of Paradors.

The set menu option for dinner was reasonably priced but the English explanation was poor, and the amount of food produced was ridiculous even for my hearty appetite. My wife's choices from the a la carte menu were far more sensible. No information was provided in the room, only on enquiring was it provided and then by QR codes. Corners are going cut, a free bottle of water is no longer offered and the lovely bath robes and slippers have disappeared..

A characterful property which has been tastefully extended highlighting the key features.

The reception staff were not particularly welcoming making it clear immediately that we would have to move our car from the “reserved” parking area. After a 12.5 hour drive of over 700 miles, this was disappointing.

This hotel was built as a residence for a Conde (Spanish Count), in 1902, and has been sympathetically extended to the rear. It has pleasant gardens with walks through the woods. Underground parking is available for €5/night for motorbikes, not sure about cars. Very good food and service in the restaurant as well as the cafeteria.

The hotel is dog friendly; unfortunately a dog had been left alone in the room next to mine, and was barking constantly. At about 2300, I complained to reception; the duty manager offered an upgraded room which I accepted and subsequently had a good night's sleep. However, I did wonder how many others were affected by the noise.

Fabulous peaceful location - used as a stopover for a couple of nights before returning to the UK from Bilbao in order to visit the Guggenheim. Facilities and grounds very beautiful and well maintained. Pool looked beautiful, although we did not use ourselves. Service excellent throughout and restaurant experience very enjoyable.

Great stop off for the ferry but glad we booked two nights. Limpias is a lovely village on an estuary. Nice walk following a trail to see the sites including historic buildings and a lovely church. A few bars and good supermarket. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the dinner/breakfasts were really good quality. Great swimming pool in the grounds. Would definitely stay again.
