Hotel Cosmopol provided a really good 1st stop on our trip through the region. It is easy to reach from Santander with convenient on street parking. Check in was pleasant, and straightforward and we were very pleased with our room on 2nd floor which had a balcony and panoramic view of the bay and coastline. We enjoyed a couple of drinks at the bar before having the set menu dinner in the restaurant. We were very impressed with the choice and quality of the set menu at 28 Euros each for 3 courses and a bottle (not 2 glasses as I had expected !) of a really nice rioja wine. Very good breakfast choice including fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese, croissants etc. After exploring the old town the following morning, we went back to the Cosmopol bar for "Bocadillos" and soft drinks....again very good value in our opinion. We would stay here again if we are back in the area. Highly recommend.

Great location for the Camino del Norte. We had a big balcony with a lovely view of the sea and the neighbourhood Quiet time of year, so the bar man in the afternoon spent a lot of time watching movies in between serving us. Lovely reception staff and very helpful. Bed was comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. Breakfast had a good variety to choose from.

We had the set menu in the evening and ordered turbot. It was not very pleasant at all as it had a lot of 'jelly' in it.

On the Camino. I was met by the friendliest of staff. So accommodating. The hotel was slightly outdated, but the service trumped this. My room was spectacular in terms of views and comfort. Right beside the most beautiful beeches and close to the main centre. Highly recommend.

I only had one night.

After a very scary situation during a nine hour height from Castro Urdiales to Laredo it was very comforting to arrive to a smiling face at the front desk. That was Natalie, very polite and sweet. The room was spacious with a very large balcony and good view.

I loved the style of this hotel. It had a pleasantly nostalgic 80s vibe. The rooms were very clean and updated. The views were spectacular and it was located just 300 meters from the beach. The food was very good in the restaurant. It felt very luxurious for the price. A very nice hotel that I highly recommend.

Room with balcony and West oriented so we had beautiful sun and light into the room for the evening Bed sheets were so soft, clean and warm

Ground floor with the cafeteria and restaurant a bit old style and would need some refreshing renovation

Nice balcony with large sliding glass doors. Comfortable beds, quiet . Lift. The town had a medieval festival (Carlos V) at the time which was partially spoiled by heavy rain.

Quite a distance from the town centre and definitely overpriced compared to other properties.

The location is perfect if you want to be close to the beach. The staff was friendly, the room spacious snd clean and I could see the see from my porch. I also liked the small breakfast buffet and the dinner I had. We could sit outside all evening enjoying a relaxing time after the Camino.

I think the only complaint would be that you can hear your neighbors if they aren’t quiet.

Breakfast was too simple for the price they charge. Lunch quality not good. Noise protection in a room quite poor. Price of accomodation simply too high.

What a view!! Best view in town. Restaurant was also quite good and very affordable

Unfortunately the walls are very thin. Our neighbors watched tv to midnight and I felt like I was watching tv with them The hotel is a little tired
