This is the BEST HOSTAL I have ever stayed in by far!!! My welcome by David was brilliant, so friendly and helpful and whilst his English was just a few works, we got by with my improving Spanish. Communication in advance of my stay had been excellent also. I arrive early and it was no problem to leave my bags until it was time that I could check in. The place exceeded my expectations in both what it turned out to be and value for money. It was in a very convenient and relatively quiet location in Loredo and could not have felt safer as the Local Police station was across the road and my room backed onto the Convent!!! My room was spacious, with high ceiling and two windows, one of which was floor to ceiling with shutters which opened onto a balconette in the Spanish style, although you could not get onto it, but allowed lots of air and light in. My room was at the side of the building facing towards the convent and on the first floor with a tiled flat roof outside that was the roof of other rooms in the property. My bathroom was old fashioned as you might expect of such an old historic building but perfectly adequate and lovely hot shower. I would definitely stay here again if I were in the area and would recommend it to solo lady travellers like me. Excellent Wi-fi too.

Sadly, you cannot guarantee a quiet room because it depends how your "neighbours" behave, and I was unfortunate to have a couple next door who gave no consideration to others with banging cupboards, doors and talking loudly but fortunately they were up very early and away the next day. Otherwise, absolutely nothing!!! Would happily have stayed for longer!

This is a kind of old-school Spanish hotel, the sort that would have been outside of my budget in my younger days where I would typically stay at a hostel or pensión. Nowadays it hits a great value point for someone hiking the Camino de Santiago or simply looking for a nice comfortable bed at a low cost. The rooms are spacious and include a work table. My bathroom had a small bathtub with a shower curtain, something I had not used in two decades. Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating.

There are no food or drink options but there are many establishments in the surrounding area for breakfasts, full lunch or dinner, or simply pintxos. There is no lift, so this may be a deal-breaker for elderly or disabled guests.

The room is spacious, comfortable, nice window with small balcony and view. The staff was very kind and helpful when asking for recommendations. The old style gives a nice feeling, very nice located close to restaurants, beach and supermarkets.

Some furniture looks really old and need to be renewed, specially the shower and bathroom in general. There was no fan or AC which in warm days only open the window helps, which was OK.

An old hotel that has been given a new lease of life. Don"t be put off by the (very) unpretentious exterior. The interior has been modernised and our room was large, comfortable, and newly decorated. A very good price for Laredo. Not far from beach, marina and old town, with some great bars just around the corner

Nothing in the hotel. There is plenty of on-street parking in Laredo but also lots of cars needing to park! So finding an empty space may involve some cruising!

The location was great, right in the middle on everything, but on a quiet street, with free parking right outside. I liked the old-school freel of the hotel. High ceilings and old fashioned furniture. The bed was super-comfy. The staff were nice, and helpful too and the price was great.

I was a bit disappointed with the view, 1st floor at the back, overlooking a place where people cut up fish. Also some kind of lounge or bar would have been nice. But there were plenty of bars nearby.

Absolutely loved staying here! It was such a privilege to experience such a grand hotel. Yes, some things need refurbishment, but to be able to see such ornate features in rooms was so special. Our room had a fireplace and the most amazing ceiling. Staff were wonderful and very helpful. If you love architecture, this is a must see.

It’s a grand old hotel. The hallways are decorative and enormous. The price is fair and the location is perfect if walking the camino. There are a lot of restaurants nearby.

It meeds updating but to be fair, that would cost a fortune. The old carpeting is pretty gross. It was very loud in the courtyard (sawing metal, workers talking loudly, kids) till about 8pm.

This hotel is beautiful! Recommend to everybody. The staff here are the most friendly I have ever experienced. I turned up looking like a drowned rat after a wet Camino day. They looked after me from the first moment. The rooms are clean and very spacious. You feel like royalty at this place. Thankyou Hotel Ramona. You did more for me than you will know. Muchas Gracias!

The room was spacious, clean and the hotel is located near the Bus Station, restaurants, bars and the beach. The staff was very helpful during the whole stay. The facilities were great overall.

The WIFI did not reach my room.

Low price. Very helpful staff who were happy to put my bicycle in a secure store-room. Room was large.

From the room, you could hear a lot of noise from the reception area, however this quietened down by late evening, and I slept fine.
